  • This was a job done before COVID-19.
Blocked main sewer line under the concrete floor slab. The outside section of the main line was clear so I had to clear the internal section from a floor waste trap at the side of the toilet using a Ridgid K9-204 FlexShaft machine.

that was quite an impressive move there popping the manhole cover, and was equally impressive seeing the release, that drain was really under pressure!!!!

Thanks. I couldn't believe how much there was myself given that all that was from the part of the drain under the foundation slab & not the external portion of the drain..

Interesting, very few, if any, houses here in the US have floor drains in bathrooms (outside of showers) unless they're in the basement. And even that is quite rare. How common are they out there?

More of a thing in apartments, commercial high rise & weirdly some new builds. Not a good idea in a situation like this, as the drain blocked up & overflowed via the floor waste drain spreading out to the carpet in the entrance way - I prefer overflow relief gully's (ORG) outside.

Some bathrooms in the US have them if they are designed for disabled people.

Definitely when there's so little space to work in.

it's very hard to see what you're looking at cuz your camera's not pointed at the actual work if you could redirect at that would be great

Totally understand. I was trying to show the machine as well as the cable going into the trap, but hopefully the more videos I do the better I will eventually get, hopefully by video 100 lol - appreciate you watching.

How do you like the k9? I love ours, we have both and will get the large one soon.

The K9-204 has been good for the internal work & will probably get one of the K9-102 machines for smaller drains, though it would just be nice if they were 70' as well, but they would probably have trouble pushing out that far.
I'd love to try out the K9-306 when they come down under with a 230v motor.
