thank you for this! i just started trying to start playing the guitar and any time i hold down a string it always doesn't make a sound can you please explain why this is happening
Bless you! This blind old lady has been desperately trying to learn chords. I’m going to start using your method first thing today. 2:21am here right now. I’m so excited!
My whole family plays guitars, except ME. My sister gave me a guitar the other day, I'm 67 I can play after watching this. I'm a rock star now !! thanks
67 year old, complete beginner here. Thanks. I'm so more relaxed about attempting chords because of this video; and that's just because of the first chord you demonstrated here. Got a smile on my face
Thanks. I've been playing for like 5 months completely avoiding chords. Took me like 5 minutes and I can already comfortably switch and play through them
My dad passed away 2 years ago I’d come home from school and hear him strumming the guitar, I’ve been watching your videos to learn to play and get closer to my dad now that he’s gone. Thank you.
wow! thanks for sharing brother! Praying for you this Christmas season. I"m sure the holidays have to be so hard man. I know your Dad is proud of you. Keep strumming away!
Man ive tried learning and retaining the muscle memory for these chords(the wrong way) for far to long from now on if someone tells me they just cant learn guitar ill send them here. Awesome 😊
I appreciate it this is exactly what I was looking for had my guitar for a while and just kept putting it off not believing in myself enough but with this I've made a promise to myself to stick with it thanks for the easy to remember instructions
You just helped me TREMENDOUSLY!! Thank you for Lamenting it! This was so easy to learn 3 cords just like that in 3 minutes like you said! I rap & I’ve been wanting to Transition into Acoustic sounds. Thank you so much! Glad I found your video!🤙🏻
I’m 34 and just picking up a guitar for the first time. I’ve been searching for tips for beginners, after stumbling across this video, I’ll definitely be hanging out on your channel for awhile. Keep it up brother!
I am new beginner. I've seen so many RUclips videos how to play. I love your teaching method. Made me want to learn more, instead of giving up. Thank you😘
This is so helpful! I've played violin for like 10 years so I thought the transition to guitar would be pretty simple, but the orginal ways to play chords was very difficult. I will definitely be playing them this way.
ive never played guitar in my life and i learned the chords so fast!! thank you for this video it helped me a lot I’ve always wanted to learn guitar so thank you!! love how you teach it’s super easy and understandable 👏🏼 keep going!!!!
Just starting out myself and I suspect that part of moving the fingers around the traditional way. Is to make sure you don't cramp up. You can certainly mix up the way you finger the chords. Anyway, thanks for the info!
I have psoriatic arthritis so practicing was really hard for me. After a few minutes my hands would lock up. So building the muscle memory was the most difficult part. I always had tough thick skin so the strings never really hurt my finger tips. But i think the book i was using wasn't good. It didn't show me to learn those 3 first. It was trying to teach me to learn something like G, a bar F, and d minor or something like that. I gotta brush up on my chord memory cause i haven't played in 20 years. But those 3 chords you show have a lot less finger movement than the ones I started with It makes sense for a beginner to learn chords that are easy to swith to first. And you get some gratification when you pick up the easy chord switches first so you can play a little and actually feel like you're getting somewhere. As apposed to 6 months of trying to learn difficult chord switches and still can't play a single song. It kind of does make you loose interest when all you do are drills but still can't even play easy songs.
❤ This lecture is very helpful. I have never learned the basics, but thanks to this lecture, I can play guitar more naturally when busking.^^ Thank you so much. I will play guitar more confidently when busking.^^❤
thank you so much now i can play the first three chords, i never played a guitar before, you a my first teacher, and that is special for you, thanks God Bless.
Wow! You just changed my whole thinking around wanting to learn the guitar, I’ve been trying for years…. But it just seemed so complicated and just couldn’t get it so by making it super easy, people like me ☺️ have a chance 😁. Thank you very much 😊
Thank you! Just learning and have small hands so I’m struggling with stretching my fingers and hands - any tips? Also would love more very basic beginner songs 😃
Dude...thanks a ton 😄 I am learning guitar and am having fun playing around with E minor (I think...... 🤔...two fingers on the second fret?) and I figured I needed to at least pick up a couple more chords....you made it easy and opened some doors for me once I get these under my fingers....blessings.
I understand what you're trying to do. BUT those chords are not the standard chords for a regular G, C and D. You are teaching the G2, C2, and Dsus chords, so an extra finger needed, and a bit harder, I think, for a newbie to learn those. I play on my church worship team, and alternate between AG and EG every Sunday! I'll check out your website. Looking around for beginner stuff since I'm going to give a grandson a Mini-3-Qtr guitar this coming week, He's 8, and has been playing a Uke I bought him since he's 4. It's time to transition!
That was really good, and spot on. When first learning the way they teach those chords its extremely dexterity challenging especially if your an old guy, lol
Thankyou for the lesson. Im going to share this with my son. Second chord is a Cadd 9. But i use it instead of C all the time. (You probably do the same?) thanks again
you make it look easy I am 70 years young. .I would of have love it if you would of strum each cord after you showed where to place the fingers so I know if mine sounds like yours. others wise great video
Thanks bro now I can work on strummin And I'm going to call you Mr. Strummin😂 Seriously though you rock for the easy lesson People too often overcomplicate things unnecessarily
