Nice! We might upgrade to the pro in the future. Just have the basic at this time. Missing out on some bigger projects without having the pass through, but the Aura actually has one. Maybe Ill give it a try sometime soon.
Thanks for providing valuable content! Been watching your channel for the past year and eyeing a Glowforge. Finally took the plunge and ordered a plus using your referral link. Glad for the extra $250 off! Thank you!
We have the Basic, Plus and Pro. 😊 😅 Small business/hobby use. The Plus was bought used for cheap to use for parts if ever needed. So far haven't had to 🤞 They run great when you keep them clean!
I have been doing some research comparing glowflorge with other laser. Glowforge aura look so adorable. But I will go with xtoll M1, Better machine and better price. Of course everybody has different opinion and respect that. I also like your review about thunder laser. Thank you.
I have a Glowforge Aura and I love it! Only had it since October and I've used it almost every day. Just a hobbyist, haven't sold anything yet, but I do have 5 orders for name puzzles, so exciting! Inkscape is giving me a challenge. Never used it before October. RUclips is really helping me a lot with Inkscape tutorials. I got a feeling that this time next year I'm going to graduate to a Basic or Pro. I'm loving the Aura, but it's soooo slow and I understand the Basic and Pro are much faster. Thank you Catherine for you tutorials. They are very informative and helpful on my laser journey. Hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow! Love from Texas
Thanks for sharing Carolyn. You might know already but I received my Glowforge in October of 2020. What is even funnier is that the first thing I started selling were name puzzles as well! Too funny! They make great gifts for this time of year, especially for those families that just had babies. Try to focus on that market if possible. List them on Etsy, throw some ad money at it, and see what happens! We no longer sell them, so we wont be competing with you fyi. Are you hand painting them or using patterned plywood for the letters?
@@85thandPine That is so coincidental LOL. The customer wants the letters painted in Primary & Secondary colors. Bold for the boys and pastels for the girls. I'm working on name ornaments for my peeps at work right now, but I'll be starting on the name puzzles soon. I made one, for my great-grandson and it turned out beautiful. He won't be playing with it anytime soon though because he just turned 2 months old. I used to have a scroll saw and I made name puzzles, but I lost most of my woodworking tools in a house fire in 2016. When I saw the Aura and an affordable price, I had to have it! And no regrets! It's amazing!!
Name ornaments are another great one for this time! You are on the right track. If you get tired of hand painting (which I did after doing so many at once) check out smokeyhilldesigns.com/ for their patterned plywood.
My wife started her business when our son was born last year. She bought the Glowforge Pro to get started and ended up buying the Laser Pecker 2 that we bring with us to holiday shows.
How would you compare the GlowForge to the new Thunder Bolt Desktop that has the capability to do tumblers with the rotary accessory. I believe it’s the same price as the Pro GlowForge. How do you compare that? I have the GlowForge Pro myself and I love it.
As you might know, I have a Thunder 35 as well. Thunder makes great products, and I think there is a laser for everyone. For someone looking to make more crafty things and have a laser that fits well in a living space, I think the Glowforge is a better option. If you have a workshop, then a Thunder would be a great choice as well. The Bolt is a great option for someone looking for a smaller laser that can do many things like tumblers. Will have to keep that in mind when recommending machines in the future. Usually when recommending machines, I always start with what projects do you want to make, and go from there.
@@85thandPine , yes I knew you had a Thunder, but I just saw the Thunder Bolt several days ago and just in my opinion only I thought it was a better first machine than the GlowForge Pro. The beds are the same size, but the option to raise and lower the Thunder Bolt bed is a huge plus for Thunder. Many Blessings for your Christmas season. You guys are doing great with your business. Many prayers for continued success.
Which Glowforge model do you have, or are you looking at getting? Comment below.
I have a Pro model. Bought it in 2021 and love it.

Thanks Catherine. Happy Holidays. Enjoy the little ones!
Thanks Joe! We are!

Thank you so much Tristian! My family and I truly appreciate that! Excited for you to start your own laser cutting journey!

Wow! That's quite the operation!
Have had a Plus since 2020.
Nice! Right around the same time as us!

There's a laser for everyone! That's why I like them so much. They are so versatile. From hand held to ones big enough you can lay down in.

What a great idea, especially if you plan to focus on craft shows. We are actually doing one here this weekend, but not taking any lasers with us.

Thanks so much! To you as well! @@mmathis9860
I have the Glowforge PRO
Looing back if I could have afforded it at the time, I would have gone with the pro as well.
whats the main difference between the Pro and the Plus model ?
Pro has a passthrough for large project as well as enhanced cooling for longer continuous use. It is also faster with cutting and engraving.
The pass through
Yep! it's a great feature! @@mmathis9860
