Unfortunately you have not got the proper info of WAP2. WAP2 is a gear changed version of the WAM2 loco made by a Japanese consortium and they alloted to Asansol. WAP2 came before WAP1

/No support for HOG
/High maintenance due to use if the DC Series traction motors

/32 step speed control which has more wear and tear in control equipment.
WAP 7 features helpful -
/Excellent acceleration due to high power per traction motor
/Low maintenance due to use of three phase induction motors
/Fully computerised controls (WAP 4 has got large number of switches in the BL box)
/AC driver cabins increase comfort
/Stepless speed controls make the acceleration less jerky.
/Motor speed in WAP 4 is 895 rpm, that in WAP 7 is 1243 rpm, so speed is also more.
/Support for HOG (although snags in the HOG equipment are common - experienced it first hand on my last trip)

Missing - WAP 5 heavy train ko khich nahi pate the acche se. Acceleration time WAP 4 se v zyada hai iska. WAP 5 was made to actually haul fast trains not heavy ones, due to which it had issues when doing superfast express duties. Now WAG 9 and WAP 7s are slowly taking over, from the WAP 4s.
Incorrect information - WAP 1 used Alstom TAO 659 motors from WAM 4, the problem why WAP 1 was finding things difficult was the low power Alstom motors. The Hitachi HS15250 motors run on 750 V DC and output more kWs. This is the reason WAP 4 can still manage 130 kmph with heavy trains. WAP 7 came up much later after the 6000 HP WAG9s were inducted. Also the asymmetric trimount AlCO bogies of the WAP 1 was changed to a Flexicoil design.

@@AAWARAAADAMI haa. Better isliye hain qki inme 6 motors hote hai wap 5 me 4. Haali me inke power output 6000 HP kar diya gya hai. Pehle 5400 HP power tha in WAP 5 me.
