The all-new Civic features a sleek and sporty silhouette, which has been achieved through lowering the bonnet line 25mm over the previous generation, whilst the glass area has been increased to create a light and airy interior. To exude a refined, premium feeling, cleaner, noiseless, surfacing has been applied, with more defined belt and feature lines highlighting key details.
The lower feature line enhances the assured stature of the vehicle, as well as giving improved visibility from the rear seats. In comparison to the previous generation Civic, the base of the A-pillar has been positioned further back to align with the centre of the front wheels, this gives the car a more balanced proportion in profile as well as a wider, more assured stance from all angles.
This sleeker body profile makes tyres appear larger and in combination with the wider track and tighter wheel-arch hemming, achieves a sporty, ground-hugging stance. Despite taking a new approach to aesthetics, the famed practicality and human centric thinking of the Civic family remains a key characteristic. For example, the side mirrors are now attached directly to the front doors, helping reduce unnecessary blind spots and supporting the safety of drivers and passengers.
The Civic is famed for being the do-it-all hatchback and the 11th generation is no exception, providing more space and usability than ever before. The 35mm longer wheelbase has allowed designers to create a more expansive and comfortable cabin space as well as improving dynamic performance and straight-line stability. The construction of the tailgate is now resin, a first for Civic. Developed using new manufacturing technology, the weight has been reduced by 20% compared with the previous Civic, making it easier to open and close. Additionally, the supporting hinges have been moved outwards, achieving a cleaner roofline and further contributing to the new sleeker rear design.
Once inside the Civic, the horizontal style of the dashboard emphasises the width of the cabin which, when combined with a wider field of vision gives a truly airy and open feeling. The interior also benefits from new tactile, high-quality materials throughout, including a striking metal honeycomb-pattern air vent detail running the width of the dashboard. On Advance grade the drivers’ display now features a 10.2-inch HD colour LCD panel for improved visibility.
The new Civic offers an intuitive infotainment package. The size of the central touchscreen has been increased to nine inches and has been moved upwards to minimise up-and-down eye movement. The system comes complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to keep occupants connected whilst on the move.
In addition, to further enhance occupant experience, the Elegance and Sport grades feature eight speakers whilst the Advance grade features 12 premium BOSE speakers for a concert like audio experience.
Honda’s proven e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain technology is offered as standard and its application in the Civic, sees the deployment of a new 72-cell lithium-ion battery and two compact, yet powerful electric motors paired with a newly developed 2.0-litre direct-injection, Atkinson-cycle engine. Combined, the powertrain delivers a maximum motor output of 135kW and 315Nm of torque. The latest iteration of the internal combustion engine has several new elements within its architecture to help achieve a thermal efficiency of 41%, one of the highest figures within the automotive industry for a production road car.
The two powerful electric motors work together to provide the primary drive force for the all-new Civic. The engine is controlled by a new, compact Power Control unit which now sits under the bonnet with the rest of the powertrain. Sitting under the rear seats is the latest version of our Intelligent Power Unit and whilst smaller and lighter, it benefits from an increased energy density. This system delivers a feeling of instant torque and powerful acceleration whilst still offering outstanding efficiency.

Dude... its Sivik no Civik lol :D
Ordered Monday afternoon, pearl white Advance version.. I fell in love with it immediately as soon as I entered.. Truly a new civic .. Top 184 PS 🔝 . Same as the trial version. 😊
Cool 🤙
Price please
Price in video 👍
I think Dan is one of the best car reviewers on RUclips... clear, informative, talks about real-world concerns and very thorough coverage, complete with measurements and even minor details sometimes overlooked by other reviewers. 😃😃😃👍👍👍😊😊😊
Thank you very much for nice words 🤗🙏👍really appreciate your support
Went for test drive today and placed order for Advance model. Lovely car. It rides so nice over humps and bumps and pot holes (UK roads). I drove for about 30 minutes and heavy footed and still ended up with 58mpg. The change between electric and engine is so seemless - i couldnt even notice it. It is very fast as well for pick up in ints class. The Bose sounds very good. Honda has definately uped their game. Only 2 downsides (one you mentioned) - indicator and reverse lights are old 1990's bulbs and reverse camera isnt the best quality- its like a 1st generation iphone camera with 1mpxl.
Thank you for your videos. it really helped me decide on the car.
Right 👍 Totally agree with you 🙏Also Thanks for feedback
@@ashmole2008 You wont notice it. Unless you are dragging 0-60 every set of lights then maybe the sport. its 7.9 vs 8.1 - not gonna notice that. But otherwise i would recommend the advance model- defo worth the small price increase to get much better kit.
Thanks for the impressions.....I had the new peugeot 308 on order but dealer incompetence, production delays and fault reports made me cancel. I'm driving the civic at the weekend and fully envisage ordering the advance. I think it's a bargain!
Agreed....I enjoy watching Dan's drives and the detailed 3 part reviews he does. Really helped me decide.
@@andrewfinkelsteintennis1915 For the stock kit it comes with it is (in comparison to market alternatives) a bargain.
I looked at Toyotas, Kia's and Hyundais and even a Audi. The Korean for me was quality of interior- it was just cheap. The quality of the Civic interior is much better. The car feels planted on the road- feels like its much bigger than it is -which is a good thing when driving. Ask your dealership about the stock availabilty if you want to get one asap. For my local dealership they already have a few hundred built- they are now being shipped from Japan- arriving in just under 4 weeks. Which (in the current car climate and shortgage of everything) is superb. The dealership will keep the car for 1 week to get illumination and carbon pack fitted. So 5 weeks all in from order date.
Honda fans: "We want a successor to the S2000."
Honda: "We made the Civic into an Accord."
🙂
The bro doesnt know what he's selling..... 35:33 the pedals are not for change the gears (because it has no gears ) they are used to increase or decrease the regenerative braking.
CHanG1t if you wanna hAve some FUnnn!! what a shame. A lot of disinformation succesfully delivered in the comments
Thanks for feedback 👍my mistake
Lovely car. One of the best dashboard designs in the industry. Exterior is best ever Civic shape. Changes I’d make: dual wireless charging up front (for two smartphones) and all four ports should be USB-C (not USB-A)
👍
Paddles are for re-gen, and it has no gearbox apart from that a good review.
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏
Excellent review! So many effort in details, clear voice and picture... Thanks Dan! Can I kindly ask you (suggest), if possible, to do the test drive on motorway driving 130km/h? What is the cabin noise and consumption in such driving conditions? I do 50% of driving on motorways, trips about 650km in one direction, and I'm interested if one fuel tank (40 liters) is enough for such a trip. Also, what is the range driving in fully electrical model, speed up to 40km/h? Petrol engine starts running at around 60km/h? Thanks, I appreciate you help!
Thanks 👍 🙂I answer you on other message before
The sound of the rear doors is not any worse than the front, it just sounds like that because your front door was open when you tested the rear door, hence all the air gets to flow freely in and out of the cabin. Try the rear door with all other doors closed and you will get the same closing sound.
Yes make sense 👍Thanks for feedback
Finally a video showing a car in its entirety, congratulations 👍
Thanks Roby 👍🙏
would love to see the carbon package on this!
The design on the outside is much better than that of 2022 without losing élégance. In addition, fans for the rear seats and 2 REAR BAGS IN THE SEATS. Basic things that should be in 2022, I wanted to buy 2022, but honestly ill wait to buy this one. Although I live in Panama, so it will probably take 3 or 6 months longer to arrive than in Europe
I’m in Ireland (Europe) and here the Honda website still displays the previous design. Unsure when we get the new design
I am way too hyped for this car. The reports about thin paint worry me a lot. And it's less practical than kia niro 2023 I have "reserved"....
Haha I am about to cancel my niro max trim + premium pack and get the base elegance civic... but niro got remote control when parking. That's nice
Front cover is aluminium and back one is a composite. All done to reduce weight.
👍
Sucks this car does not make it to the american market..
It would be a sales hit.
👍👍
It has the climatronic similar to VW B6....and the pedals are not for gear change 😅 it's for thw hybrid recahrge
Nice presentation, however the motor-engine interaction seems to be inaccurate. Briefly, from what I searched the electric motor alone with its 184 bhp ls driving the car most of the time, unless you drive above 110 km/hr. In this case the 142 bph fuel engine (that most of the time acts as a generator) replaces it temporarily. Also, in careful eco driving you can reach 4 to 5 liter per 100 km in this civic e HEV.
Yes true 👍 my mistake
I would like to ask if the fact that the car is very low and loaded will rest on the road (on an uphill slope) is a problem thanks
We NEED this car in the USA. When will it be available in the United States???
I think next year will come there 👍
Honda Cívic 2023 eu tenho um sonho de eu ter um carro desse...em nome de Jesus eu Edgar vou ter um .(Brasil).Obrigado.
🙂👍
brilliant review with so much information that other reviews do not show
Thanks Robert 👍🙏
The new Civic looks like someone tried drawing the accord from memory
Why are you spamming?
So good then
thanks for these civic hatchback videos! I ended up getting the 2020 hatchback here in the States, since I won't be driving much at all, better for me to get gas and get it now.
Thanks for feedback 🙏 👍 You did a good choice
This interests me. Especially since it has a standard inline 4/hybid drive and not that crappy 1.5t. The design changes are also stunning; they got rid of all those fake vents. This could be the one.
👍
@@SDADanCars If it ever comes to the States that is
I see that this guy loves this car. I love Honda too :)
Possible it will be my next car after Accord. Thanks for review!
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏
Also, you got some things wrong about the car. First of all, the numbers you keep saying (184Hp & 315Nm) are the power figures of the single (not two, but one ) electric motor. The 2.0L petrol engine develops 143Hp & 186Nm of torque. Also the car does not have a transmission, not even a CVT one, It's the electric motor that drives the car and the petrol engine acts as a generator, while in some cases can add to the electric motor driving the car through a special coupling. The gear changes that you feel when driving the car are just software programmed into the electric motor.
You are right with the electric motor and system and cvt....but this car have 184hp and 315 Nm it is the Hybrid version. This is the total power of the car ...official numbers...
Advance version : 8,1 s because of the additional weight (sun roof, subwoofer), (I think)
Thanks for all your recent videos, I am waiting for my white advance since ordering in july, and your reviews help to stay patient
Advance model also has more sound deadening for Bose and in firewall.
Thanks Nicolas I was think same with the sec 👍
👍👍
It's also for the tires for me.. 235/40 R18 vs 215/45 R17 for the Elegance
@@frafa83 UK models are getting the same rim size at 18"- so same tyre size throughout- just different rim designs.
It’s BS that the US does not get a panoramic and no rear AC vents
What size of the driving motor in kw ?
What size of the generator motor in kw ?
What size of battery ? kwh ??
1.2 kWh around there
@41.00 - would like to see that demonstrated in night time. I dont think the central light is matrix- its the full beam. I think the reflector bulbs have 6 pairs of LED's- with each one coming on and off based on road conditions/ on coming cars and people walking.
Yes I try to 👍
WHY ISN'T THIS CAR AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES!??!! I have a 2022 sport touring Hatchback Civic and would trade it in for this one in a HEARTBEAT!
Will come 👍
Again I wish we had in EU your version in your price!!! Highest trim level in Greece 47700 €!!!!!
Right?!!! I’m passed off about my civic now.
Nice Civic Hybrid: I recently purchased the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Touring for my daughter for about $30K, but it didn't come with heated steering wheel or the panoramic sunroof, no air vents in the back seat. I noticed that it only got about 30 miles to a gallon. my VW Jetta gets about 35 miles to a gallon. I'm still waiting for Honda to sell the hybrid version in Colorado. Maybe next year in 2023 or 2024. I see your review vehicle has the side mirrors fold automatically but that must be European thing. Thanks for the reviewing the Hybrid Civic.
Yes I think in Europe are different trim levels...it is a great car no matter of engine 🙂👍
Can the back fit a 6 ft person comfortably? I heard the previous models' roof curvature would be a problem if you are tall.
I think will be fine....but better try it first 🙂
this is one channel i do not skip anything they way you review and talk interesting ..good job…
Thank you very much my friend 🤗🙏
Dan, your review is so good, it will definitely increase sales for the Civic. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks Radu really appreciate your feedback 🙏🤗👍
All I care about is the Panoramic roof I wonder would it be on the 2023 EXL hatchback 1.5 Engine
Not sure Tommy ...
43 minutes, man put timestamps
👍🙂 normally it should be there ....
I need this car
👍
What a great, extensive review. This review makes me decide to get the Civic Advance next year as my new lease car.
Thanks Mark for feedback 👍🙏
Excelente ❤
👍🙏
Hi, plz is there any long term review? 10000km or 20000km ?
I try my best 👍
Thank you for very detailed content on this Civic. Could you please specify the horizontal depth of the trunk with folded back seats and front seats in your driving position? Useful to know for carrying bikes etc. Thanks again.
Igo I will try to check when I see it next time 👍
What is the grid for under the second line of the seats? You can see it in minute 20'.
It is from battery cooling system ..actually air vents
Why is this not in America?
I think it will Tony 👍
I can't wait to get one in Canada. It is not available yet. I was told it will be available in early 2023.
Yes will be 🙂👍
40 litres fuel tank? that can't be correct Dan that's only less than 9 gallons, my Mazda 3 has a 55 litres capacity, are you sure? as that seems very small, other than that a great review after watching this I think when I come to change my car next year, I will definitely consider this car.
Yes, it's 40 litres.
It is 40l because it is a hybrid. Also most of Hybrids and plug in Hybrids have little fuel talk. It is very good that the car with 40l can do around 700km range 🙂
Chivic
😁👍
Many thanks, amazing review, I'll check that ASAP here in Basel.
👍👍Thanks for feedback as well 🙏
Wow , I’m interested. 🤩
Nice 👍 🙂
Can you do a pov video of the new matrix headlights at night would love to see how good they are thanks
I will try Steven 👍
Something strange that i have often seen in the new civic presentation is that when seatbacks are turned back, they do not seem aligned flat. Why ? Is this an assembly problem ?
Galen I think they ate like this....almost flat ....anyway for me was kind of flat if I remember well
@@SDADanCars Thanks for your feedback Dan. I should receive mine in a couple of weeks. I will post my (first) overall impressions after a few days of use.
Hello Dan. I'd like to ask you if the EU version has a remote start engine? I saw all your vids and I love this car.
Civic o. Model 3 highland ?
Excellent detail in your review.
Bright or wide though? Sounds like the former, but I think you meant the latter?
Yes right 😁👍my mistake ...is German word
@@SDADanCars Just ordered the Civic Advance in white after a great test drive today. That transition from electric to petrol is so smooth.
I wanna buy this for my Mom. Nice upgrade, great mpg, very comfortable, surprising power. This would be perfect for my Mom, and the kids will be comfortable on road trips.
And then there's me in my EK Civic. Love my EK. Wouldn't mind an NA1 NSX though. Definitely aiming for that 😂
Cantik sangat😍

Great review. I like that you try everything out.
Thanks Andrei 👍🙏
Any idea what the range is with a full tank??
Around 650km ...depend on driving style 40l tank
Great video Dan, thanks. I agree having a few regular bulbs is strange....must be cost saving but it's hassle for dealers to stock them and replace them.
Yes Andrew agree 👍
It Is possible climate the car remotly? I means turn on climate when car its parking?
Claudio I think yes if he has the Honda app ...but not sure...I will ask
Can you please revert if this is possible to use on app?
Didn't even drive the bloody car!
I have a separate video with driving 👍🙂 check out on Channel
Noo i thought honda didnt do glossy plastic anymore :( well at least it isnt in touchy bits
🙂
Depends on location. Some countries have the matte black
Best review ever about Civic eHEV 👏
Thanks 🙏 really appreciate your feedback
Consumption is 6.7L/100km??? For a hybrid… Green washing at its finest
🙂
@@SDADanCars 6.7? It's more like 5.3.with medium heavy leg with my test drive.
i drove this for about 10 kilometers in the city at 3.5 l/100km i believe pretty balanced uphill and downhill, i imagine this managing 4 l/100km in the city long-term if you try hard, I believe it will do figures as good as Prius, combined is 4.5 l/100km no problem
Excellent review
Thanks 👍🙏

how much did it say that you can drive with a full fuel tank?
I cant remember 😪

How does it compare with prius?
How many km on electric only?
I think for tall people the driver is not very high the cabin.
The engine radiator is plastic or alum?
Totally different engines and driving feeling... in electric mode you can do a few km ..but they use a different system much more intelligent then is a normal hybrid....hard to explain.... in the end consumption will be low.
Does the driver seat have lumbar support?
Yes
Yes 👍
