great video. I am definitely getting one soon. I wish on the phone app you could operate the gimbal while controlling the drone. This controller has a lot more features that I thought it would.
For the most part, I enjoyed your video. I like the part about the OGT cable no longer helps. I came to your video from searching "how to charge" the Spark controller. Needles to say I bought mine pre-loved. I was disappointed to find nothing about charging the RC. So maybe do one better next time. You're 9/10 & so close to perfect!
Can you please make a video explaining what all the alerts are, DJI has dodged 30 Spark owners who lost their drones during flights, all their flight datas indicated the drones where working fine, the time, day, condition, distance less then 200m and use was fine, battery power 65% yet the remotes lost video communication, gave a single beep alert (instead of a double RTH type) then literally never returned. DJI responded first by offering the care-fresh insurance which does not even cover the fly away, then after analysing flight data they told the pilots their aircrafts where fine and offered 30% off on a new purchase. What is interesting is that 18 out of th 30 pilots asked what the alerts on their remotes indicated and all 18 where ignored! DJIs only response is that the aircraft was fine...so if the remote has issues, radio or wifi as the mavic air will, dji is playing a deceptive consumer game with this GopRo Karma syndrome where the Karmas fell out of the sky., Consumer are dumped with no air crafts and been they have the remote they cant return this either to the stores or DJI as they are deemed useless and un testable for the failure. And now users are calling this a cover up and considering a class action. so it would be great if someone actually discussed the remote alerts in a video, maybe the single beeps meant the drone powered down (manually) as when you turn it upside down or lost control., DJI ignored every single person asking, in fact on the DJI forums they have their apple discussion like trolls helping insult users thinking of taking action by suggesting to point the finger at the end user for the idea when not one single flight record showed pilot error. So please share
is it a must to use an iphone to connect with the remote controller to activate the setting ? is it a PC monitor or Iphone screen when you are showing the setting in this video ? I did not see you connect your iphone to the remote controller before you start demonstrating the setting so I thought you are using a PC monitor. Please help clarify. I am using iphone 5 so I am not sure it can fit the remote controller.
Hi, great video. I have a problem I don't know if its in the remote or the bird itself. I get altitude to 80m and lost signal. I use otg cable. and when flying away i get only 140m far from the remote. Could it be the remote is not working properly ? Yes im in the city, but even in a crowded signales, i think i should get more.
Hey, I have already subscribed. Sometimes when I connect to my phone the remote disconnects from the drone and I have a cat and mouse game that takes a few tries to get right. Is very annoying to have to bind the remote to the drone everytime. Very time consuming.
dear Mike, thanks for the explanation on the RC.However something is not clear to me about the H button (RTH). If you do not use the DJIpro App on the phone, how do you set the Home position, so that the RTH button the returns the drone back ? I use Pix4D but I cannot have at the same time also the DJI+ running. So I need to check manually the time. If the DJI+ is NOT running, does the drone comes back with the values (Home and altitude) previously set with DJI+ ?
Hi Mike, I have been a subscriber since your early days and have a quick question. I’m using an iPad with OTG cable. I am using within EU so can I ditch the OTG cable now? I have had mixed results with signal loss recently. Should I turn ON aircraft mode and Bluetooth OFF? Thanks Mike
Thanks for posting In the distance and height settings, it is currently set by DJI to 50 meters height, 150 for distance. When ever I try to change these settings to a 1 mile limit and the.400 ft. Allowed limit, it will not retain these settings. It will go back to DJI’s settings. Is this unchangeable?? It happens when connected with the OTG. When you disconnect it, you are than able to change the settings.
Hi, I am a new owner and read lots about the other being a must have. My first flight was no otg while my second was with. The second flight tho, gained no gps signal which RTH was not active as didn’t know where to come back to. Go back to WiFi connection and RTH is back. Nearly lost the spark in the sea. Is there any reason for this? Android and OTG and all updates installed.
How do you vharge the controller? Do I have to use my phone's charger? Do i have to use hte drone's battery charger? Do i need to connect the charger to any USB port in my PC? I'd appreciate very much your answer!
I already found out how. But the instruction booklets that came with the "Fly More Combo" are very incomplete. You have to DEDUCT many things by yourself, and watch tutorials like yours. For instance, it tells you that by moving the controller sticks in or out, and back at the same time, you get to start or stop the motors. But you have to try to see which movement starts the motors and which movement stops the engines.
i hv a question why i can't connect my remote after i got 3 new battery's there good ????but the remote i can't connect it no more ? can u help or how can i reset the remote.
hey just found out today dji said its no good with android phones.. there working on it now, so it can work on my phone i need to use iPhone then i can put it back to my phone .. they saying its a glitch. but its only made for iPhone witch i think it sucks not a lot of ppl have that phone or lk it.maybe u can say it on one of your videos help some ppl out going crazy lol..
The correct sequence for binding/linking the remote to the Spark is as follows: 1. Power on aircraft and the remote controller. WAIT until the aircraft status indicators (back LEDs) blink yellow. 2. Press and Hold the power button on the Spark for THREE seconds. Release the button after hearing a SINGLE beep. The front LEDs will blink red. 3. Press and hold the Flight Pause button, the Function button, and the Cunstomizable button simultaneously. Linking begins when the alarm becomes a quick single beep after an alternating single/double beep. 4. Then the front LEDs turn solid red after blinking green. When the status LED on the remote controller turns solid green, linking is complete.
Tyson S thanks for replying.i collected money to buy dji spark, but i feel i will buy it and regret all the time that ive waited to buy this thing, i dont know if its worth 9 months of collecting money. I still wanna buy it but i feel i will wast money.
Tijmen Schalk great to hear from you. Im really excited to buy a spark. My environment is not the best one though, since i live in kuwait city, which is a city full of antennas and interference in the middle of a desert (so hot weather) but i really wanna get it to get some good shots and mainly I’m buying the drone as a pilot not a photographer.
Charge it back to 100% and make sure it stays connected to the charger for a while before trying to turn it back on. If this fails, contact DJI Support, they should be able to help you out. best of luck!
I had to use the controller without the phone as I had no battery power in my phone. How do we set the RTH location on the controller without the phone?
To be honest I've never used just the remote without the phone, and not sure if that will even work. How do you see the live camera feed if you don't have a phone?
U don't need to see the live camera feed. It is good to have it but I have flown the Spark twice now with just the controller. Today it returned to me when the battery was low. I did push the RTH button before I took off but not sure if that made a difference. I think it automatically updates the home point.
When I assign functions to both function keys, they won't be stored. I habe to reassign them every time I power up my remote. Anyone here having the same issue? Thx.
thank you for this informations, in fact i have a problem with linking my remote to the spark i did everyting new firmwire resetet but still wont to link with the drone. any idea how to fix that?
Regarding the OTG cable, my IPAD works well with OTG, android phone will only work on wifi. The app will not let you enter without wifi on. Once I have a mount for IPAD, all will be well. Too bad about android though. Anyone found a fix?
Hi Richard, OTG works well with my Android SGS7. The trick I found was to 1st launch dji Go and then connect the OTG cable into the controller. Using no cable always causes bad signal and video cut-outs so I always use it. There are so many views and information about OTG and a big separation that needs to be made is how OTG works on iPhone vs Android.
I thought owning the controller would make the range much better but its still terrible with the controller. Glad i have my mavic pro but it would be nice to be able to send the spark more than a few hundred metres, but oh no, the range is shite
I broke my charging port and I didn’t realize it until I was trying to recharge the controller I’m sick 🤮😭🤧 I have 77 percent battery left, $114.00 is to steep for just a controller. I’m just glad insurance covered it💆🏾♂️🕺🏾but I’m still puzzled by how I made that mistake and I was always gentle when inserting it, DJI should had marked the front from the back on the charger, people be careful when attaching the charger to the controller it can be a costly 💸 mistake! I’m definitely going to mark my new controllers charger when it arrives.

Have you had experience where the DJI Spark Controller doesn't change the speed when you switch to Sport Mode? If so how did you fix it? Thanks.
FINALLY i understand the customizable function buttons. thanks
Got the fly more and I definitely recommend it
All i needed to know! Thank you very much!

Thank you for this video! I've just found out a couple of useful things 😅

Cool thanks for sharing 😊👍
The lightning port on iphone wears out and gives trouble charging, it will also affect OTG.
Very helpful. Thank you.

Everything that I have read both flat sides of the antenna should be pointed towards the drone. If you think about it it makes sense.

Tnx so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 very very good for my , ❤️
To link my RC to the DJI Go app I only hold the drones power button to get 1 beep. Seems to work fine

The antenna are an omnidirectionel antenna.. så the direction dosnt matter.. but you need to fold them out
What is the H button for on the front a remote
Thanks for posting

Hello friend, I have a DJI spark. I want to connect it with remote control, it does not happen, you will tell me how
After the last update for DJI Go the connection between controller and Phone by cable was disable for Android devices. Why DJI Why?
really helpful!!.....THANK YOU :D

I have small dought
dji spark remote connect with f 450 dji naza GPS lite
Please explain
It's in the video.
Do you need to link the remote to the drone by that procedure every time you make a flight?
No, you only need to do it once, then it's linked and you can use it every time :)
Ok..thanks!
can you charge the remote with an iPad brick charger
How long is the lightning cabke
oh sry when i connect to my s8 plus it saying internet may not be connected? please help..
Mine says the same. Several other videos on RUclips also show the same message. Despite the no internet message, you still should be able to connect.

Hi friend i forget my remote password now i dnt know how to restore that password if you know little help me
Does the Spark Remote have another OTG Plug Port on the side top Left? As the Remote on TomTop Site shows the Cable in a different place?
No it doesn't - it only has one port, it really comes down to what cable you're using (there are some differently shaped angle cables)
One other videos leave out steps. Your's is better. If you could use a "pointer" of some sort would help with seeing what buttons you are pushing.
it lags thery much, and range is only 200meters then it disconects from drone,it need ocuseenc like mavic pro have
Mine was low battery in a long time and when im charging, it doesn't light up and battery still not charging. Any advice?
I heard that a seriously low battery could be permanently damaged. Your only solution is to buy a new battery.
@@whatsup7202 bad news 😆 okay i try to ask local services

If you do not use the OTG cable, your cell phone battery will drain very quick.
I've been using the drone for more than 9 months(without otg) and I've had no such problems, don't worry

The usb plug on the Controller, is different to the one on the Spark. What utter stupidity.
