Now I have to Google this place. I understand the owner wanting to guard his privacy but I love seeing hearing the history of those places. I've been binge watching a lot of your older videos. I've watched them before but I love seeing them and hearing the history of the places you go. I started with the one you were with the native American uncovering his history and I also especially like the older gentlemen sitting on the porch telling about his history. Thanks for sharing another great adventure with this old lady. God bless you and your family
Gaye thanks so much. It’s so good to hear of your enjoyment of my videos and the older ones too. I do hear from others who do the same and I’m always humbled to hear they bless you. God bless you.
Looks like a nother great day of finds. Man, you come up with good places. Have a wonderful weekend, Todd and memorial day too
Thanks Ron. I prefer my own permissions since I research my stories but I’m often asked to join another and the terms they get their permissions don’t always afford me the freedom to reveal much about the place. Many have been detected to death too so I’m always glad to find anything of value.
Stopper for sink or tub.
Todd, I see the anchors now. You are right. Ben
Nicely done Todd. Some great historical relics found. And the memories of a lifetime detecting with some friends. Hope you had a great time on vacation and safe travels home.
Hey Tony thanks buddy. Like all good things that end so was my vacation. Sigh…..always hate for them to end.
Unfortunately that happens. Gotta love it. But I bet it’s nice to be back home in your own bed.
Great piece of history and some cool finds to boot.
Todd, a very nice gathering. Beautiful locations, bummer one the rain. Great finds.👍👏😀
Hey thanks! Even though it had been hit over the years we still found some treasures worth keeping. The rain literally put a damper on things.
That round thing with the bale on it is a Antique sink drain stopper it had a rubber seal on it that had came off
First thing that came to my mind.
Thanks Kenny
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives Anytime my friend .
Todd, I think the mystery thing is a stopper to an old sink.
Hey Alan thanks!
Caddy ashtray lid
Soon as pulled up that gold I KNEW it was chocolate coins. No one gets chocolate past me. 😏
LOL. They were disappointed I didn’t fall for their prank.
Way way cool finds!!! Thank you for sharing History with us!!! God Bless!!!
Thanks Lori for swinging by and leaving a comment. God bless you….
OK. I wasn’t planning on detecting this weekend due to the 80% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday, but you’ve motivated me back into detecting mode after 2 weeks off. The Nox is on the charger.
Hey Rob how did you do buddy?
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives It rained constantly Friday, Saturday and Sunday, day and night. Today was cloudy with no rain but no evaporation either, so I didn’t get any swing time in this week. I’ve got some new ideas in mind so I plan to hit it hard next weekend. Going back to where my oldest finds are and search that area thoroughly.
@@robbertram3310 sounds like a good plan. It looks like it didn’t rain here the entire time we were gone.
Awesome hunt you guys I enjoyed your hunt and good luck to you all,God bless you all.
Todd, You are correct about being a naval button. It was hard to see on the screen. I retract by statement regarding an officer's coat button.
The drooped wings with surrounding stars without the anchor would probably be a confederate officer's button. Sorry for the confusion. Love your videos. Ben
The Cadillac piece is a seatbelt release and that iron piece is a cap to a black iron pipe
Hey Thanks Ken....I knew it was something from a Cadillac, just wasn't quite sure.
Todd, was this in VA near Vint Hill Rd? There is a small village called Greenwich near me. Literally about 8 miles from my house.😮
Yes that’s the place Lynne. You’re not too far from me 😉
The eound thing with the ring on top m mightbe a duck decoy wight.
Very interesting suggestion. Thanks.
Could the mystery find with the ring on top be a canteen cap ( minus the stopper).
It could be. I personally think it went to an old cast iron tub but it was filled with Cork so who knows really. A mystery.
Todd,
This one a really good one, you looked as excited as you get:)
Those deep digs look like they had been there a while,
I wonder of a layer of topsoil was put on top of an earlier surface, could you tell?
That thing with ring on top almost locked like a bathtub plug...nah!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Oh, I just read the next comment after typing this,,,, Duck's said the same thing:)
Hey Rik I think too soul was added after the structure was burned. It seems like the targets were deep and I think I missed a lot but I only had 2 hours that day and a little boy who couldn’t wait for the next plug.
Top to powder horn
That pipe thing is a nipple with an end cap threaded on it. Probably will say WARD on it.
Does it go on water or gas lines?
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives yup!
The depth of an item doesn't indicate the age or length of time in the ground. The items weight and composition of the soil along with leaf fall and composting of them are the determining factors of artifact depth.
no doubt....
Todd, I just finished watching your video. I noticed the military button looked liked an eagle with drooped wings and appears to have stars along the edges. If this is the case it is a Confederate officer’s coat button. Enjoy your videos. Ben
Is it? I wasn’t sure if it was Civil War or WWI honestly.
Hi friend!
Hey Chris how’s things going there in Alabama
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives hot as hell, and dry!!! Bugs have gotten terrible, also!
@@chriscourson2824 😂😉
Did he really say that he thinks sterling is plated? Hewboy.
The one spoon is plated but the other was solid. The old one could actually be an older grade of silver with more copper in it. The big one was heavy and surely solid silver. The initials could make it valuable being Charles own name engraved in it. Very interesting
Good place to hide stuff in a smoke house
Could be under that old floor.
Hello from the old man that just got back from the Virgin Islands. I enjoyed the video. How was your vacation? We went to the beach at Kenny Chesneys house. Everyone at the wedding was from Knoxville originally. Now my wife said I have to go to Montana. I asked her if I could go deep sea fishing. She said she rented a house right on the beach for me not too worry. Stay safe say hello to the family for me.
Hey Steve we just got back after two weeks. My son surfed, scuba dived, he and I went sea fishing and caught a lot and we rode horseback. We also did a lot of hiking and swimming and sightseeing. We loved it there and I could retire there I think. It sounds like you all had a great time too. The USVI are beautiful. Montana now that’s cold but stunning. My cousin lives in Gardner MT and works in Yellowstone for over 25 years.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives wow you did have a great time. You did all the things I used to do before I got old and sick. My son works at Yellowstone. He went to work there as soon as he graduated from UT. I could live in the USVI if I could learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road. Say hello to the family for me and I’m glad you had a great time.
@@stevespears3341 will do sir. Check out Puerto Rico. They drive on the right and it has just as much beauty.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives I’ve been there. I liked the old fort. The last trip I went on was Paris and then to Normandy. Now that is something to see. I’ve also have been to Hawaii and to Pearl Harbor. Then to the big island and seen the volcano. My daughter is going to Greece next week on her honeymoon. I don’t know why she doesn’t want me to go with her. I’m glad you had a great time. I don’t think I’ll be going on to many more trips.
@@stevespears3341 how old are you my friend? So many of my bestest fans are in the same boat you in it seems. Makes me sad. 🥲
Todd great video as always. Love the smoke house. The Jefferson nickel is really the find of the day!!! LOL who cares about Civ. We are done hunting till fall here in Missouri. Keep the videos coming. I miss swinging
Hey Jeff we are done here too…maybe. Believe it or not the temps have yet to get warm and we have been in the upper 30’s even this week. Today in the upper 40’s so I’m still able to get out some. There was 20 inches of snow here in the mountains about 45 minutes from me 2 weeks ago and many trees up high are still bare. Unbelievable. We have the furnace on even today. It hit 67 for the high but still is cold at night.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives Todd wow we were in the 80's today. I would still be hunting if it were that cool here. Snow has been long gone here. I know they had snow up in Iowa not long ago. I dont think it stayed long. The critters would stay away also.
your not supposed to metal detect historic houses it's illegal and you could get arrested.
What country do you live in….🤔 it’s privately owned and we had exclusive permission thank you.
🕶👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hope all is well Johnny. Good to hear from you.
Guys! This episode is AWESOME!!! Love how you all incorporated the history into the episode too! Ohhh and the chocolate lol! Chad- #bluecreekdetectors
Hey Chad thanks buddy and keep up the good work there in your neck of the mountains. You guys been killing it with the coins.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives much appreciated! Thank you! Can't wait to see what you all find next!

When you hv time pls let me your pricing. We live in NC. Thank you agn! Blessings to you!
Thanks for reaching out. You can send me an email appalachianhistorydetectives@gmail.com where I can get your address or mailing post, to send your grandson's horseshoes. I have to look to see if I have any left. They go fast, and I don't find them at every site. I might not have any left currently but I can send you the next ones. I really appreciate the comment and to hear about your grandson's. I have many videos here on the channel where my children go with me on digs. They are grown now and no longer go, but my son was with me on the recent one 1789 Kuykendall House.
