I think you need to figure out how to play more hands in 1/3. Your hand selection is good for 2/5. In 1/3 the players are generally scared of aggression. If you play more hands in position aggressively you’ll win more pots. It’s also easier to put 1/3 players on hands because they generally place face up. Especially against aggression. You probably need to figure out how to play more hands in 2/5. It’s very hard to eke out the consistent wins with such a a low vpip. See flops in position. Even if you’re have an inferior hand. Position plays well regardless of your cards. Idk. I don’t think you’re a nit but I think to become a better player you need to find the right spots to play more hands. Just start trying it in position. Fantastic content. I think you’re a better player than you give yourself credit for. If you felt like you were a better player maybe you’d feel more comfortable playing a few more hands than you do. At least so see a flop. Anyways that’s been the biggest change to my game and my win rate has responded. 1/3 players are pretty clear when they have you beat.
He has to play this way cause he's got a family to feed. He's trading variance for consistency. There's enough mistakes being made in 1/3 where ABC poker may be boring but it will consistently win out and be profitable in the long run. Keep doing what you're doing man!
This is super interesting, I really enjoy listening to your thought processes..Do you have a video where you talk about what you do after you fold, before that next round begins? A big reason I see too many people in VR playing too many hands is because they say they're "bored" if they're not in a hand. I, myself, find myself a bit anxious when I try to observe other players as well, maybe because I'm not super strong on my own game. Feel free to point me to an old video but know if you talk about that topic in yoru videos in the future I'll deeply appreciate that too :)
Cool vlog. You seem too play not many hands unless you have the goods. Might be playing face up idk. You were so scared of AAs in that pocket KK hand. You left so much value on the table
The bomb pot hand was surprising to me given how tight you normally play. I’d have never considered calling that river. The turn I probably sold considering how dangerous bottom or middle set is in bomb pots. You’re essentially just quad mining.
On the A❤4❤ hand, the board was A♣️,3❤,K♦️ but the turn was the 3♣️, so at worst you are likely chopping with any other A (he would have 3-bet AK), and you are crushing any ambitious K.
At 7:40 Pocket Queens - If you actually think you are behind preflop facing a massive open ($50) from a very tight player, I think the correct play is to fold. The odds of winning are too small for the amount of money in the pot. if you don't think you an outplay your opponent post flop then just fold the queens, IMO.
Know another guy who plays at Jamul often, but usually plays the PLO games (or at least to my understanding, he probably also plays 1/3 there too when there isn't PLO games going on)....Now for the on-topic comment...another good vid...

The KK Vs QQ you just have to 4bet pre. With the straddle 100bb, effective, if he has AA gg. Even though he's super tight, if he ever has TT/JJ/QQ, you just want to play for all the money. You seem convinced that he will fold but idk people don't like folding good hands.
This is a terrible take. He tells us this guy is tight AF and has bet sizing tells. The correct play is to fold pre if you are that certain. How TF are you telling him to 4bet, stay at 1-2
@@zekebones34 idk, he left a ton of money on the table there. Kk vs QQ he should've nearly doubled up on that runout. They are only 100bb effective with the straddle. Also the 3b wasn't nearly as large as the open raise the player did when they had KK. You lose more money by losing out on value in these spots than trying to avoid a cooler like AA vs KK
That’s the think I think he’s always folding TT JJ(that he may not 3bet in the 1st place specially TT) and even QQ a decent amount of the time leaving me mostly against AA. You have to be aware of the game dynamics and not just follow what the book says. I’m aware that 100bb deep you’re happy to get it all-in with KK.
@@Pokerbabbo respectfully, raising preflop is a mistake if you plan on checking that board. I get it, it was multiway, but still that board hits your preflop raising range.

Run your vlog how you want, but I don't see how saying out loud "T3o, 86o, 94o..." adds any value. I'd rather just hear silence over that to be honest. Or some music. In the KQ hand at 6:34 I think you missed a ton of value by not betting for 3 streets. I can understand the check if the board is worse for you but other than 33 or 55 you have the nuts. You allowed KJ to see showdown for 2 streets. In your 53s hand 23:52, you are betting river to get called by exactly one worse hand, 3 combos of K9s... that is way too thin. "If I check and he bets I probably have to call, so I'm gonna bet" isn't a valid reason to bet. If you don't think he's betting big with a worse hand, check and just fold to big bet and call a small bet. You can also just fold it pre.
I respectfully disagree. Poker face ash did this too and there's a bunch of us that really appreciate it. It's just good to be reminded to fold stuff. But to each his own.
