Deeproy is a very versatile actor and has done many great things in many films we'd never known it was him. One of his earliest roles was the snail racer in Never Ending Story.
They used animatronics and CG for the movie. He did every action, but every time, there's multiple of him on screen doing something identical that was fortunately the movie magic : ) Amazing dedication and its really cool that they got him guitar and mountain climbing lessons for the roll and how he wanted to play it.
No matter how many remakes or reboots we get, you can never match the spirit and energy of the original. Roy is a hell of mad man to take on the the role of the Oompa

It was not real chocolate, but the river was actually full of a liquid that was specially made to replicate the color and texture of melted chocolate.
