That’s not a good comparison, if a gas pedal in a car had a 200lb minimum acceleration pressure than the majority of people wouldn’t be able to accelerate without applying a large amount of force over a long amount of time which is strenuous for anyone ( which is the reason a heavy trigger pull could be affective for shooters with less experience or training)
Sweet video Buffalo. Interesting little 22, but a 11-12 lb trigger pull don't think I'd like that. That's a workout for a afternoon of plinking. LoL Thanks for all your hard work Sir.
One of the best reviews. Everyone talks about the same thing all the time but you took the time to talk about other things I couldn’t find online. Thank you for the review.
Ok this was the first time Buffalo let me down with a video. Now before you all run me off hear me out. The content is outstanding, man this guys shooting skills if I did not see them on camera might make me question and the details are great. But with Hammer Time title -- now I can't get that crazy song out of my head and I rushed over here to see Buffalo in some Hammer pants.🤣🤣 Interesting setup there my first time seeing one.
I bought one last summer in July and after one year I am still loving it. The trigger could be better but I bought and installed the trigger kit that helps improve it about 25% better.
Thanks Buffalo, that's a really nice looking 22 and you shot extremely well with that heavy trigger. That would be an awesome gun with a lighter trigger and not a bad one as is .👍👍
Good review thank you. That rifle makes one wish to be in high school again, living on a farm and be the owner of such a little rifle with plenty of ammo...
Another great video! I really appreciate the take down of the rifle and showing the actual barrel. Your assessment of the "feel" of the S&W M&P 15-22 is spot on! Take care!!
Thanks for the review, Buffalo. Seems a like a good choice for people who want a .22 similar to their AR rifles. They have kept the price competitive. I have to admit that the name "Hammerli" had me scared it would cost multiple thousands of dollars.
Looks like a fun little shooter! A little trigger polish job after about 2000rds might make that the best sporting rifle trainer and range fun day tool in the box! Great video as always Buffalo!
Excellent review!! Exactly the information that I was looking for. Keep up the great work! Also thanks to the owner of the Hammerli to make this review possible! You folks are awesome.
im grinning just watching you pling away at those targets. Ive just purchased one of these, and they are SOOO much fun to shoot. i wish i had access to an outdoor range like yours sir. Kool video.
Thank you Buffalo! i found this kit from HKparts "HK 416 & Colt .22 Match Trigger Upgrade Spring Kit" it is suppose to reduce the 8# stock pull down to just under 5#
Great video with thorough review. I appreciated the snippet info comparing this R1 to the 15-22 as that was my initial choice. But I got a chance to hold the R1 and was sold.
Your videos are so great. Your markmanship is always superb. And you show them well, and that's a nice rifle. The MP 22 is toyish feeling to me. Plus this one runs bulk ammo. I just sent my wife's brand new MP 22 back to SW. It just wouldn't cycle ammo right. Even CCI so there is either an ejector or extraction issue some place. Take care
Nailed it again Buff, best review on the Tac1 i have seen so far. When you take it apart it's plain to see where the cost cutting has been applied with the non functioning bolt button and the forward assist (not that you need that anyway). I'm not a fan of the pencil barrel but it is what it is and i'm sure it's good value. Half the price of a Tippmann M4.
Great video! my pull is about 8 lb, yours is about the same as my .357 revolver, 12 lbs. is too heavy. I guess they addressed this and made them lighter.
Excellent review. You make what I call "real world" reviews. I just ordered one of these and I learned some things I didn't know about the the gun. I'm not concerned about the heavy trigger. Few companies want to make guns with light triggers any more out of fear of getting sued. The world has been ruined by the legal beagles. In any case, it's easily remedied. Looking forward to shooting it.
I always associated Hammerli with high end target pistols. I’m surprised they did not install a better trigger in the rifle. Excellent review as always.
I have seen others between 7 and 9lbs. This is the only one I have seen above that. I took mine to the range today for the first time. My trigger pull didn't seem bad. I ordered the springs before I picked it up and I am not sure I will even install them.
Almost went with the M&P 15-22 but decided to go with the Walther! Picking mine up tomorrow from my FFL! Also will update the trigger as one posted on here from HK. Thanks for the review and yes I watched both your M&P and this video and it did help me make my choice. I went with these two choices because my FFL couldn’t get a Tippmann which would have been my first choice!
Outstanding! Excellent review neighbor! How you keep from having the hillbilly accent and from using the slang is impressive. I'd be laughed off here. Again content keeps getting better and better. Keep'em coming!
I had my gunsmith install the lighter trigger pull springs, I'm glad I didn't try to do it myself it looks very difficult fumbling around with the trigger pack. Only complaint on mine is that sometimes the spent shell casing gets stuck and I have to pry it out with my knife. Magazines are overpriced but other than that it shoots accurate and it seems to be built pretty well.
@@robertwalker8453 that’s probably why he went through a brick of Federal bulk with no issues. That’s a testament to the reliability of the rifle and the ammo. I’ve shot probably thousands of rounds of that same ammo in my life and it seems to be one of the more reliable bulk packs out there for most semi autos, but I’m not sure I’ve ever shot 550 rounds through my 10/22 without some sort of malfunction. I guess the fact that most bulk packs are high velocity helps them be more reliable in semi autos.
Hi Buffalo nice case! 😁👍 Nice little 22 also. Every time I see one of your videos I wanted go outside and shoot! I have an HK MP5 22 that I haven’t shot in a while I think today is a nice day to break it out. Have a good one!
Good looking little shooter. But id have to agree that trigger is something else. Over 12 pounds 💷 is crazy. But it looks like great shooter. Thanks for sharing Buffalo.
Great review. I'm glad I manually checked your channel. YT HAS NOT been notifying me for your videos. I hope I fixed it now. I unsubscribed, resubscribed and reclicked the bell. I hope that fixes it this time. 🤔 At least I have some vids to watch getting caught up. Take it easy man, and thanks again for the great review. 😎
I had a S&W m&p 15 .22 that I sold just because I couldn't get over the loose, sloppy stock. It had a few malfunctions, but not more than any .22, but Man, that stock drove me nuts!
I have the Magpul version of that rifle, but I put a strip of soft side Velcro on all of my collapsible stocks. A tiny fingertip size piece keeps stocks fairly tight, and can be adjusted to your liking.
This rifle seems to be similar to the Sig 522, which will cycle anything and has a good trigger, certainly a lot lighter than 9 pounds. Mine will reliably cycle CCI Quiets. The 522 has an aluminum upper, polymer lower.
Never mind... should have watched the entire video before commenting! LOL It actually looks more like my DPMS full auto SBR airgun! It also has a ridiculously heavy trigger! My granddaughter can’t even pull it.
I luv mines she shoots great just picked her up some food yesterday. She cycled everything I put through her no problems, when u picking urs up Buffalo?
I like that bomber gun case. This gun reminds me of my M&P 15-22 (the way it looks), but the trigger is no where near that heavy Do you know where your friend got that rifle case?
Yea you gotta love the 15-22 which at least if you wanna you can drop in a trigger and it’s definitely an AR-15 clone but overall I like the looks of this rifle I just won’t be buying one
Totally missed notification. Humm... As usual, Buffalo seems to achieve "CZ" accuracy no matter what platform or snack is being enjoyed. Seems to be a pattern here!
I remember when this company made these crazy looking 22 competition pistols. I didn't know they made rifles like these. OK, brother, what's your secret to getting bricks of 22s? I'm not kidding, I went to a local gun shop today and they had a plastic 500 round container of 22LR, Magtech....they wanted $88. Nuts!
Going to a local shop was probably the biggest mistake. Always quite a bit over priced. More so now of course. You can find the price per round at about half of what the shop was selling it for online (for typical bulk pack stuff).
Great review and great shooting. Imagine what you could do with a decent trigger. Hey brother, don't know it you're working out and shedding pounds or the heat is taking care of business but you're looking fit. Stay safe and stay in the cool in the shade.
Without a doubt the best review ive seen on this rifle, and i watched every one i could find before buying one . Thank you !
How do you like it?
@@hopatrol9475 Bought it for the wife, she loves it. But dang extra mags seem pricey to me .
Certainly sounds like it's reliable. Thanks Steve for letting Buffalo demonstrate this beauty.
U are DEADLY with those iron sights dear lord lol
Making that steel sing
Do people think heavy trigger pulls make a gun safer, somehow? If so, they should put 200 lb gas pedals on cars to make them safer.
I don't like going lower than 4.5 pounds for a duty type gun but anything heavier than 6 is overkill.
The firearm wisdom of Guru Jeff 😁
That’s not a good comparison, if a gas pedal in a car had a 200lb minimum acceleration pressure than the majority of people wouldn’t be able to accelerate without applying a large amount of force over a long amount of time which is strenuous for anyone ( which is the reason a heavy trigger pull could be affective for shooters with less experience or training)

Nice ejection on that thing!!
That's the kind of video I like" dumps a full brick of 22's at one sitting" and doesn't break down crying. Ha. Thanks Buffalo!👍👍
Nice shoot wit that one sight

Is it a standard AR lower? Can the trigger be replaced with a trigger kit for ARs or the different spring kits? Maybe a CM drop in?
