RUclips hasn’t been the same without you! Your videos were literally THE reason I even had the thought that I could turn my love of drawing into a career. I didn’t even know concept art was a thing until I stumbled on your channel, and now (several years later) it’s what I do full time. Don’t let the algorithm get you down! There’s more past Me’s out there that need you!
I dream of becoming a concept artist, but I'm worried that because of AI I won't be able to get a job as one in the future, since AI art evolves with time.
I like your flowing painterly style in these two pieces, lots of texture, brush energy. When I attempt that, it usually ends up being too messy and then I start over-rendering again.
Thank you so much! One of the tricks is to use the pressure sensitivity on your tablet to paint textures. If you paint using too much pressure on the tablet, you end up with opaque relatively flat colours, and not textures. Hope that helps!
it was a heart touching, i have been watching your art for 4-5 years. you are too good in this, you have rightly mentioned that what ever comes we can't stop doing what we love the most.
Glad to see you back since a while. I was checking your channel every month, but I've not found new videos since your last video. And that makes me somehow not motivated to produce my work too. The things you put on your videos actually can give me some inspiration and its like I'm lost for long time without that. sorry bad English
I really appreciated how balanced this video is. I really missed you and your art. I’m one of those people who switched career paths after AI (from Graphic Design and illustration to HR). However, I still do art nearly daily as a hobby, and I will never stop doing it. This is the new world we have to contend with, and most likely, it will affect my current career path, too. I liked your whole discussion on this, and how you were willing to get a bit personal and share your experiences with this whole thing. Thank you for this ☺️
I feel this in the music industry. As someone who spent 30 years learning multiple instruments, now half our gig venues are given to DJ's who spend a week on youtube learning "production" and put 6 buttons while waiving their hands in the air pretending to be actually doing something on stage. It's maddening but it is what it is and the dumbed down masses lap it up.
It's definately a challenge right now, I lost my studio of 25 years after covid and trying to get back into the digital art scene and its super hard, no one sees your skills, or experience and what you can bring to the table, some companies are even using Ai to screen your CV and portfolio !? - you have been a great inspiration with your videos and thoughts - so kind with your knowledge and time Imad - really hope you continue to share and inspire!
watching your videos 4 years ago changed my life. Your tutorials and your brush pack really brought me to a whole world of digital art and learnt so much over the years by gaining knowledge from other artists. Im pursuing a career in the visual arts and i love what i do. Regardless of what the future holds for us artists, im just glad i came across this channel in the first place. You are awesome!
So great to see you back Imad! I was so annoyed that the algorithm didn't suggest this video as I've been waiting for your next one. Thankfully I am signed up to receive your emails! I love dragons and these pieces are beautiful. Glad you're doing some art for you and the love of it. ❤
I'm happy to see you back, I've always been waiting for your return!🥳 I'm sorry to hear about the burnout, I hope you feel better or start feeling better from now on.🙂
Brother, you are a massive inspiration for me. After years of not doing anything, your videos gave me the insight the tools and the drive to get back in the game. You have no idea how many people around the world you have touched. You sound bruised, but you’re not beaten. Far from it. I know how that feels. But as you said, technology and tools come, and the sound minded of us will use them to further our own artistic expression rather than replace it. For sure, there will be those that want the easy road out. But that has happened through every century, through every new age of mankind. There will be actual do-ers, and then there will be fakers. You are the genuine article. We are artists, that is a super power. We do that because we enjoy it, it nourishes our soul, and it gives our soul an outlet, and means to show the world who we are. AI will never have a soul. It’s a machine, that is trained on art produced by human beings. Basically we are at a point in humanity where the question “well if it can do it faster, for cheaper, why should I bother?” Is a prevalent one. And that’s for art, video production, music, everything. But my answer would be, “Because mine is REAL”. One day, I believe because all this AI art will become so commonplace, the value of a true Artist will rise, and the shift will come where actual artists can charge more, and it will be more sought out, more “premium” to say “a human made this”. Please, please, please keep making your RUclips videos. Because maybe there is another guy like me somewhere in the world, who needs that guiding hand that you provided to me. Who needs a master piece every video, or post? No. Just draw. Just do it. And let us watch you do what you do best, get inspired and do our best. I don’t care what you draw, as long as you just do your passion and never give up. We artists gotta stick together, and persistence will pay off. Believe me. God bless you Inshallah. And thank you. ❤
Hey Imad ! glad to see you back! You are always an inspiration to watch and listen to. I always remember your videos, tips and techniques about art and PS, specially the one where you talked about finding your own style, which was basically to practice until you have a good level with the fundamentals. Today i can work as a freelacer illustrator thx to these tips and videos. Keep the great work and take your time, it s always good to take a break from time to time.
Being an artist is not merely about style but about creativity, expressing new ideas. Just because someone draws a dragon doesn't make them an artist-it's ridiculous. Being an artist requires more than that. Remember, people may create similar works based on Pinterest and claim they're artists just because they know how to draw.
Welcome back! Great video, really enjoyed watching your process as always. Art is all about communication, so AI or no AI, artists should not stop creating and communicating. If anything, human-made art may become more valuable in time.
Fantastic video and great things to think about. Art is a form of expression, I believe everyone can and should do art if they enjoy it at all. As for being a paid professional artist, it was never easy to be a professional artist to begin with. Hopefully there is some light at the end of this tunnel but in the meantime we should all just keep creating. The process has value, to us and many others.
As someone who also dabbles in AI but also has an art background, I found your commentary related to the limitations of AI relatable. It seems that the limits of AI are in fact related to composition, at times anatomy, perspective and proportion. Then you still have the issues of the 6 fingers in Art..sometimes you have limbs missing too..I cannot help but wonder..if the AI boom will also make it so skill sets related to art fundamentals will also become emphasized.
Welcome back! Don’t feel pressured, I personally keep my subscription to you because of ur older contents not because you spam uploads. Quality beats quantity for me. And yes Ai is cutting the industry but I believe a circle of skilled handcraft will always remain.
They say turn your passion into a career and you will not have to work a single day. But they don't mention how this can ruin your passion. Money is a very strong force. Can't let it dominate you.
Man I've been itching to get into digital artwork for a while, and your videos are the perfect source material and highly motivating. I just wanted to ask, if i get to a reasonable level, can i use this as a base to create animations? I mean at a certain point we should utilize the AI to enhance this field instead of looking at it like a competitor. Animations with the kind of art you produce would be unreal.
I think in art it's important that you're art is imperfect rather being perfect cuz data imperfections define artist outside of comfort zone making art perfect is not big deal if uf focus on details this and that but when ur art looks imperfect dat exact time to sense the artist crazy mind and in my experience I learn and get amazing things to be imperfect
I tried tattooing and didn’t really like it. Since then I keep my art separate from my career. I don’t really need money or notoriety to feel accomplished as an artist. I just really love sculpting and painting and will continue no matter what. I actually art more now than when I was payed to do it. There are pros and cons to being a payed artist and you might benefit more from staying an artist. Finding a high paying career is hard enough. You have cool art good luck either way.
Your channel is awesome, and I hate to hear it stresses you out. If it helps, I would be interested in hearing you ramble about your workstation setup, your routine and your creation process, and influences. Maybe easier content to supplement the masterpieces.
Great video as always and great insights 👍, have a great journey to climb and to reach, cause as soon as the top of the mountain is reached, there always be another higher mountain to climb if one ask and continues to seek it. 🙏
There's something about AI art that stands out for me. I see it and regardless of whether it's Leonardo, CGDrream, or Midjourney, it all has very "samey" look to it. Your very quick sketches stand out as livelier and more dynamic than what I see AI generate.
In today’s fast-paced world, where everything moves at lightning speed, there’s immense pressure to deliver results quickly. It’s no wonder so many people turn to AI for support. As a creative designer, I often use AI to spark ideas for my work. However, after nearly two years of working from home, I feel like my mind is stuck in a rut. The creativity that once flowed effortlessly now feels constrained, and my work doesn’t seem as polished as it did a few years ago. We’re all caught in a race-working fast, clocking in overtime, striving to be efficient and innovative. But sometimes, we just need a break from the grind. We need time to disconnect, clear our minds, and even take a vacation without the constant pressure of work. Our minds shouldn’t always be in a state of relentless hustle. I love your work, your art inspires me so much. I’m not a concept, but I want to be one. In this era of relentless speed and pressure, your creativity is a breath of fresh air. I’m glad you’re back, and I just want to say-keep doing what your heart tells you to do. We will always love you, no matter what.
I guess we shall see where ai goes soon enough, but hey! so much has changed in our world already over the past ten or so years, who knows what we can expect to come. Keep doing what you enjoy doing, as long as there's food in our bellies, a roof over our heads and heat when we need it...all else can be our own creations.
AI generators are not artists and thus what they do is not art. It is computer generated content. Art is made by real people. Art is useful in our development/uplifting as human beings.
@ImadAwan I really love it when you show us what you are passionate about. I think five walkthroughs of your creative process would be awesome. No basics, just show us what you do when you get inspired by something step by step. I would like to see Procreate, but I don't know if it's more popular than Photoshop. As a recommendation, if you put very speedy paintings in your showcase, it will be a bestseller. I think there is no advanced stuff over there... Greetings from Colombia! I'm a programmer and hobbyist artist
Ai took a job from me. I've been trying to get into art as a career for a long time. I finally got a job doing artwork for a small indie game studio. Then I got dropped as soon as ai came on the scene. I just finally gave up after that. I'm 41 and need to focus on supporting my family. I've gone back to just doing art as a hobby and not worrying about getting a career out of it. Sad to see a life long dream die because of technology but that's life I guess.
Recently we had a request of creating a manga that had Ai generated character concepts (refined by their artist but honestly it was too obvious that it’s been generated by Ai) I guess it might make the work process faster but the art and characters just look off as if having no human touch to them.
Assalam u Alaikum bro, fellow artist from Pakistan here, I'm in a pinch to buy a display tab, my choices right now are the Huion Kamvas pro 16 2.5k or the XP-Pen Pro 16 Gen 2, and a 7 year old used Wacome Cintiq pro 16, which one should I go for?
I haven't used XP-Pen pro 16 Gen 2 so can't say. I do have an old Cintiq it works great it's reliable! and I have also used Kamvas Pro 16 2.5k and it is one hell of a tablet. See what the resolution on the old Cintiq pro 16 is. If it's 1080p, then I think Huion with 2.5k res would feel a lot better to work on.
As an artist who's spent 20 plus years in the game industry, and now has transitioned into the fine artworld for 10 years now, it's very interesting for me to see how this AI art thing is effecting artists and how they think about their work, the industry they're in, the fears they have, etc. I've even had some friends of mine who are still in the game industry, reach out to me to see if or how they could transition into the fine art industry because of the threat of AI to their jobs and careers. I can say this, while AI art has not had the effect on the fine art industry as it's had on the game industry or concept art, the fine art industry has it's problems as well! It may not be threatened by AI art so much, but just because it isn't, doesn't make it a safe haven for which to transition to! In my opinion, I think artist in the game industry, concept artists, commercial artists and such, need to figure out how to utilize AI art to their advantage, learn to embrace it because it's not going anywhere! Just wanted to put that out there!
I have a similar opinion, I think artists are overreacting on the matter of AI. Rather than trying to adapt they want nothing to do with it. The best would be a middle ground between the technological advancement and the artistic skill. AI is great for idea generation and have fast beginning and as long as the AI art is only used as a base it will still count as an original work
@@ImadAwan You're welcome! I'm glad to share my perspective on this subject, I think I am coming from a unique perspective (being old and all!😂) When I started in the game industry, there were no schools for game development, 3d art, none of it! That's how far back I go!! 😂 It's so cool to see how far things have come! But anyways yes, artists should embrace AI art, I've been experimenting and playing with it myself and I think it's tremendously helpful even for me as a painter now! It doesn't really change my process, it just makes things go faster! Finally, I think you've even mentioned this in your video, even if an artist uses AI art to some extent in their work, if that artist is truly talented and skillful, it will shine through, whether they use AI art or not, it will be obvious who the good artists are and who isn't, I don't think you can fake that, even with AI art!
@@Axiasart nah, people value hard work and creativity, using Ai is using other people hard work... and now people complain or cant discern what is Ai and real art. If you dont care about hard work, and value, then Ai for lazy people by own means
Lol, I made G.R.R Martin's Dragons. In Martin's opinion, dragon's wings would have likely evolved from its forelegs. No animal that has ever lived on Earth has six limbs. But hey, it's a fantasy creature we're arguing about so who cares! haha
Ai will be used as a tool, side kick, and will become the best option for making art quicker. But, AI will still be just a genre. It will not take artists jobs, it will rather create more. Only artists who will avoid AI will be left behind. This is a shift. All artist should use artist as a tool. For example. Usually artist search for reference via google or anything. But now you have the power to create a reference and then from that point create your own perspective. Another example. People still love aesthetics of pixel art btw.
Why u assume people left behind? are they force to use it? people going to value artistic art, not computer generating art... that other artist made with no compensation either. Zero! People like you, are the problem
what fun is that just type prompts, and then worst, u going to call yourself artist? Many people using Ai think they're artist because they are creating something in Ai LOL. Is funny and ridiculous. Those people lack creativity
Banda subscribers k comment ka reply he krdeta hai lekin nahi apko bas un comments ka reply karna jinme public ne apko appreciate kiya ho....so selfish
Lol! Look, I’ve just replied. If I missed one in the past, that’s because I’m unable to reply to all the comments, sorry about that! I do try to reply to as many as I can though.
As a graphic artist I must confess I was a bit worried about AI, but as a indie game developer I must confess I am thrilled to no end as projects that were far far beyond my skill capability are not only doable, but doable with minimum effort and time! My advice is to embrace AI, especially the one that is made by artists for artists like Invoke that now even comes with layers. Krita can use any Stable Diffusion model via Comfy and you can bet more and more tools will appear in the near future. My prediction is that every single tool we use, will be AI enhanced, have AI as a plug-in or option or will be completely done by AI, and that's a good thing. Why? Because 90% of what we do, is boring, repetitive and useless. Take fore example Selection. Do I care if the graphical editor uses AI or an Algorithm to make a better selection? No, I don't! I just want a good selection. Do I need 100 brush strokes to define the shape or just 3 and the AI will make the rest? I don't. So as an artist I want my vision to become real, not to fight with stupid software that was made 25 years ago and never updated properly, you all know what Adobe I mean.
That’s a valid point too. A lot of AI use cases where it significantly speeds up the process. I’ve never been entirely against all kinds of AI. I’m still learning more on the subject though.
@@ImadAwan I understand you completely. My suggestion is to ride the wave as hard as you can. Why do I say this? Because there's not much content and tutorials made by Artists that also use AI, either as a base for a matte, or for concept, or as part of the entire workflow. So AI-Art tutorials will be in high demand in the near future, as many people will want to use this new "tool" but have no idea how or what it can do. The second reason is for content creation itself. You can quickly turn a sketch or a blocking-in paint to a concept art for a client using img2img, inpaint or Invoke, especially if you're an artist that can also draw or paint! Most of the rest are 100% text-to-image dependent, but artists can do amazing stuff using image-to-image or inpainting. Want a small sail ship docking to your amazing Caribean island seen from the top? Dabble a few paint dots, select and describe it "sail ship from above", press Generate and select the best result. Refine it further and so on. The speed is insane, especially to details but also to concepts, and the rest? The rest is in your hand. If anything I wish for more! More tools, faster tools, more options, larger text and image dataset, and better integration or newer and more amazing graphic editors. After 20 years of Photoshop I must admit I'm sick of it to no end. 😀
@@Moodboard39 What? Try articulating a full sentence before blaming the AI for your incompetence. I'm not "advocating" for anything, and I wasn't talking with you. If you feel threatened by a over glorified pattern recognition algorithm then maybe you should run to the hills because the current generative models are peanuts compared with what it will be common ten years from now.

Actually as a beginner who whatches you to learn, i reallly like the idea of you making studies and sketches more often, very good idea !
Happy to hear that! Thanks for the feedback! :)

Glad you are back to making Videos.

Thank you Brian, and that's a great suggestion! Really helpful!
Good to have you back
Thank you!!!
timpleapse drawings and paintings will forever be god tier youtube content 😍
so glad you enjoy them!!!
I love the last painting!
Glad you enjoyed it!!!!
Good to see you again.
Hey, thanks!!
Amazing story and I really loved it
Great video as always and great insights 👍, have a great journey to climb and to reach, cause as soon as the top of the mountain is reached, there always be another higher mountain to climb if one ask and continues to seek it. 🙏
Yes, thanks man!
Welcome back, man)
Thanks man! :)
I'm just learning digital painting and illustration. I'm curious whether it still makes sense. We'll see
It's still a valuable skill!
hey brother. I've learnt a lot from your videos, and your friendly style is really endearing.
Glad you like them!! Thank you! :)
I just searched you this day and got a new content today!
Awesome! :D Thanks for watching! :)
Nice video! I agree, the tech bros broke art area for sure, the good thing is that we can keep improve and enjoy the process. Be real painters.
Absolutely!
There's something about AI art that stands out for me. I see it and regardless of whether it's Leonardo, CGDrream, or Midjourney, it all has very "samey" look to it. Your very quick sketches stand out as livelier and more dynamic than what I see AI generate.
Thank you! And yes, I am now finding it boring to look at AI generated art.
Nice vid, nice sketch, nice speach. Love it, thank you :)
Good luck. Hope to see you more often. Your rant was totally engrossing.
Hey, thanks!!!
I am not going to become an artist anymore if the success or money is the point. Still craze for creativity ignites in me to do the art. Welcome back
Thank you!!!
Amazing bro🔥🔥 Keep up the good work🫡🔥
Thanks 🔥
I think that most of us are here to learn whatever you want to share.
A sigh of relief then! :D
Gooood youre back !!!!!!
Yasss! 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for the kind words and support! Really means a lot! 🙏🏻
is sickening...taking other artist work and mashing them together...nobody protest but complain, so i guess is not a big deal?
Thanks for making the video.
My pleasure!!
oh, to have this talent.
It's been a while indeed.
WELCOME BACK
Thanks a lot!!
That's very true! Thanks for sharing these words of encouragement! :)
Ai is so good but It was built on the back of real artist work so its depressing. Alot of people are going to lose their jobs across all industries.
AI generators are not artists and thus what they do is not art. It is computer generated content.
Art is made by real people. Art is useful in our development/uplifting as human beings.
That's very true!!
He's Baaaaaaackkkkkkk. Don't go that long again tho, let's get down to business
Haha, yessir 😂
I really love your videos. It would be great if you made some courses on a learning platform. I'll be the first one to buy them
Thanks for your support! What would you like to learn in a course? Any pointers would be valuable feedback for me!
Oh no, that is sad to hear. I hope you can still keep that passion alive in any way shape or form! 🙌🏻🔥
ٍStrange I am subscribbed since years didnt see your vids on my feed for a long time. Anyway you a legend wish if I could paint like that.
Thank you so much! :) try the notification bell ;)
@@ImadAwan Done👍
Changed 2 years ago :)
Recently we had a request of creating a manga that had Ai generated character concepts (refined by their artist but honestly it was too obvious that it’s been generated by Ai) I guess it might make the work process faster but the art and characters just look off as if having no human touch to them.
Ah yes, it sounds all too familiar! lol
I am going to learn how to make 3d furry models, that's the way forward 💪
haha, good call probably! :D
wb love your content
Hi there! Thanks a lot!!!

Hey, I am curious to know that what are the dimensions you set for your artworks?
Usually 3000px wide, 1600 in height, 300dpi
@@ImadAwan does my 16 gb ram laptop can handle such artworks?
Adapt...Evolve...Or Go...Extinct!
Wow! Back from the dead. Where were you for so long ?
haha, I was in hibernation :p
@@ImadAwan Hibernation or stasis ?
@@ImadAwan Thanks for the reply, the Cintiq is 4k, it's 7 years used though and the seller doesn't have the box, I'll have to inquire about it.
Everyone was downplaying the fact that a.i would eventually take over the art industry..
Been saying this since day 1..
I saw the title of this video, and I got worried.
Well, it's slightly more complicated than a yes or no answer! lol
No matter how much I massage the prompt, AI won't give me anything close to the image I have in mind. I'm not too worried.
True that!
Wow, thank you for sharing this unique perspective!
I have a similar opinion, I think artists are overreacting on the matter of AI. Rather than trying to adapt they want nothing to do with it. The best would be a middle ground between the technological advancement and the artistic skill. AI is great for idea generation and have fast beginning and as long as the AI art is only used as a base it will still count as an original work
@@Axiasart I completely agree!
Whats the artist name
Bro just take your time AI is here and there's nothing we can do than just ignore it and push through
Thanks a lot man!
you drew wyverns not dragons
Lol, I made G.R.R Martin's Dragons. In Martin's opinion, dragon's wings would have likely evolved from its forelegs. No animal that has ever lived on Earth has six limbs. But hey, it's a fantasy creature we're arguing about so who cares! haha
Ai will help but AI doesnt have the right to use another artists style.
that is effectively theft
Ai will be used as a tool, side kick, and will become the best option for making art quicker. But, AI will still be just a genre. It will not take artists jobs, it will rather create more. Only artists who will avoid AI will be left behind. This is a shift. All artist should use artist as a tool. For example. Usually artist search for reference via google or anything. But now you have the power to create a reference and then from that point create your own perspective.
Another example. People still love aesthetics of pixel art btw.
Thanks for sharing these thoughts!!
😀
@@cristitanase6130 Ai garbage u advocating for
@@Moodboard39 What? Try articulating a full sentence before blaming the AI for your incompetence.
I'm not "advocating" for anything, and I wasn't talking with you. If you feel threatened by a over glorified pattern recognition algorithm then maybe you should run to the hills because the current generative models are peanuts compared with what it will be common ten years from now.
