Fr tho 😂
10 years on and this film still scares the living daylights out of me.
because this gives off the feeling of inevitability. you have things to lose so you will.
Am I seriously the only person who enjoyed this 😂
@@ACNH_biancafann I enjoyed it. But it was freaking scary.
I watched this film before going to sleep and I ended up seeing this ghost in my dreams.😂
@@shmttwonSame
This is the first film to ever get the whole 'haunted mansion abandoned with all the furniture and stuff' exactly right. Usually they fall flat or get stupid. Hats off. Oh and the rocking chair.
For a rated 12 movie, it has to be the scariest 12 rated movie out there.
Really is this rated 12????
Bepis Man wait what it’s rated 12!!!!
Nooo
Signs is way scarier
It’s 18 or 15 I swear
On Amazon prine
cant lie the music and the way she looks in the window at 3:20 creeped me out more than anything else in the movie
I remember we had a day in school where we could do whatever we wanted in class since it was the end of the year and they all decided to put this movie on. My bully was staring intently at me to see if I'd get scared. Because I'd seen it a few times and knew what to expect he didn't get the reaction he was looking for 😂
Does everyone have a personal bully in uour school😂
@@eralddiwrld214 nah it was just me 🤣
Literally finished watching it in school today lol because we’re doing gothic stuff
This movie knows how to do jump scares correctly.
True story: Watching this film as a kid in school shortly before the holidays, I jumped so hard my arm was hurting from a pulled muscle for days after. :) :)
Oof
Man my school would’ve never let kids watch this in the America’s
I remember seeing this movie when i was in middle school and the jump scare after the candles in the hall made me so terrified I ran out of the theater like I had to shit.
Could not sleep for at least a month.
f
Yeah I saw this years ago when I was like 10 and I regretted it. All I could think about was the woman’s high pitched eerie scream and that damn instrumental. I would always have the covers over my face when I was going to sleep lol it seems though that all of the horror movies rated PG-13 end up being the most scariest with so many jump scares.
Oh man, I can imagine how lpud the screams were from the theater. I saw the movie when I was 10 with my parents, it scared the living fuck out of me, left me sleeping with mom for a whole month.
6:30 Seeing this in the cinema, I never get a feeling of true terror from films. But for some reason, the way she moved and the scream physically made me feel sick. Not sure why it's such a terrifying thing for me but I absolutely hated that part. In a good way lol.
That’s the one part that really freaked my friend out when we watched in theaters. She screamed “no no noooooo!” And put her face in my arm lol
That same part made me feel sick too. It may sound crazy, but I once puked watching that scene as a kid. Idk if it was something else or just the terror.
I actually shat myself
@@SDN328 lmao
I just see it as hilarious, and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve seen too many Joke videos where people just slide
I watched this for the first time in school and I was in the front row and we got the best experience because when the lady was in the window and later on in the movie when she was going towards Arthur man, that scream was fricking hoffifying
I love the way they do jump scares that aren't jump scares. Like the last one, where you're given a moment to get used to her presence before she does the epic scream. Or the window scene, where you're prepared to see something by the fact that Arthur sees something.
My favourite, though, is the hand on the door scene. It shows the hand, then cuts back to Arthur, and when it again cuts to the door, they count on the audience's focus being on where the hand was, so you don't notice the figure there until it moves out of sight! It worked on me, that's for sure.
Those are all jump scares
the woman in black is the only story whose novel, play and movie versions have all scared the bejeezus out of me! The play especially when i made the heinous error of getting an aisle seat and the woman in. black actually touched my shoulder as she came by. Heart attacks at age 17 are NOT funny.
the scream always gets me, also, we had to do this for gothic literature in school! The class has to watch it!
So did I 😂
same and my class is 12-13 year olds
I got so scared when I watched this in English!!! I've never seen the bonus clip!
It’s even better when your sat at the back of class and kick your table really loudly
I had 2 as well omg!
Same.!
Same I had to watch it in school too!
I hated it
The beginning has that jumpscare sound effect from Eyes The Horror Game I’ve played before! Such good memories!
Watched this in my media class, studied it and wrote an essay on it
Dot Man Can we read it?
@@AstonishingSodApe Unfortunately not, it's archived away the files of my media teachers cupboard. It's fairly dull to read, just saying why camera shots and techniques create a horror effect etc.
I love how at 6:30 the candle on his right just randomly goes out 😂
this was the first movie with a jump scare to ever make me scream.. can't remember which one it was though
FlutterWho Was it the rocking chair one at 3:48? That one's pretty scary, it scared the shit out of me when I saw it the first time.
Diogo Pereira I'm about to watch the movie again, so I'll let you know 😂
FlutterWho Yes do come back please.
Diogo Pereira ok so it was the screaming lady in the window. made me jump pretty good the second time around lol. I forgot how amazing this film was.
FlutterWho You mean 5:08? Yeah it's a pretty well made horror flick.
When I open a pack of gum in class
Everyone: 6:34
Lmfao
When you make a funny comment with a horror movie
I was 12 when I saw this in theaters. My friend and I had no idea what we were going into. We never heard of it, or seen any trailers. It was either this or some kids film, so we chose this. I shat my load. Came out feeling like I got my bang for my buck though. Masterpiece of a film.
There were so many scenes in this movie where I screamed, "Your wand Harry!"
I remember seeing this in the theater and this was honestly a really good experience in the theater. I mean I was 14 when I saw it in theaters but it was pretty good looking back. I remember coming out of the theater like oh shit, I haven’t seen a movie like that in awhile. Or at least none that scared me.
Personally I really liked this movie, didn’t get why it had a lot of hate
it's interesting how usually music(sound effects) are those things that scares you.
5:37 FNAF WINDOWSCARE SOUND! :D
Watching this so I know where the jump scares are before I watch it in my English lesson lmao
Hahaha I wish I could watch this for English class.
I studied this for GCSE Drama for the Live Performance Review
Was that your first time watching it!?
I remember watching this as a kid with my mom, i had to watch the Lego movie and the Lego Batman movie after. Still couldn't sleep for a week after that.
Me: (accidentally hitting my brother)
My brother: (cries)
My mom: ( 6:34 )
2:24 i remember the little boy running as soon as he was noticed with a bit of a bigger sound and the main character also getting freaked out
5:37 FNAF WINDOWSCARE SOUND ORIGIN.
Why on God's earth would anyone go back that "spooky-ass house" after those first experiences lol. I'd be like, fuck that I'm outta here.
I am seeing this film at class and literally, the sound of the boombox is that high, that literally we can hear the protagonist's breathing.
Poor Mr. Potter had to go through all that.
Just to star in Now You See Me 2.

5:41 Shit, the UK DVD of the film I have doesn't have that pre-hanging shot of the Woman! I've never seen it before! :O :O
I think that scene is WAY better without that shot. It goes straight to the falling/neck snap and it more effective, in my opinion.
Yeah it's a cut version
5:37 Sound Familiar?
Shit! I've never seen the part at @5:41 before the hanging. Absolutely love this film, saw it at the cinema and bought the Blu Ray the day it came out. Shame the second one wasn't as good!
Couldn't sleep with the light off for MONTHS after watching this and a couple of other horror movies (mainly this one)
1:34 I always thought this was a beautiful way to do a bit of flashback storytelling concerning the tragedy at the center of this movie.
5:41 I remember this scene without the lady looking back before she hangs herself and it's 2x more scary, must have been a edit in the re-release or something
Can't believe I watched this with my parents when I was 8.
Would have been funny if one of them whispered "You're a Wizard Haddy!"
“Just walk through the wall, Harry”
-Me watching the film for the first time
3:16 I'm pretty sure any normal human being would be like fuck this shit I'm out at this point...
Nice vid!
TomStreakz Thanks!
This is the best horror movie ever
3:22 Legit if I was walking up to my house or hotel or a place I was staying at in general where no one else but me was, and I saw *THAT* I'm leaving without taking my stuff with me. Fuck that I'm not staying in there no more xD
I'd come back in the morning with at least 2 other ppl to get my stuff but after that I'm out. Also that part with the puppets and stuff would actually make me shit myself lmao. I'm being serious xD
Watched the film last night, and it was my favourite film ever
Watched it just there and i swear shat it like the place her son died in
5:54 Jigsaw laugh
This is the best film because it’s just ghosts… no demons, no possession… just ghosts.
The rockin chair😱😱😱
3:20 Creepy as hell
6:16 scared the sh*t out of me
The 1989 version of this film is much more subtle and a lot better.
My teacher said this movie is too scary for her, but this movie isn’t even scary smh
i remeber this movie i think i was 12 years old or something man...this movie scared the hell out of me even traumatized me at some point!
I watched this at school and nearly pissed myself
Daniel Radcliffe is an atheist, just like me
I wondered why you never talked about religion. Now it makes sense
What, you want a cookie now?
Well as a follower of Jesus Christ , I believe our spirit lives on , as Christ Ascended to the father , but I don’t believe in ghosts as portrayed in this film , but it’s very entertaining, 🙏
The scariest jumpscare is the part where she appears in the rocking chair
I love this movie but I haven’t watched it in a long time because it does scare me.
Oh boy. These jump sequences. Made this one of the scariest films I've ever seen. I wanted to hide under the seat in the theater.
People in my class were finding under the table 😂😂.
@oisinc5267 Why does everyone watch this in class? What kind of teacher is showing horror movies to kids?
@AstonishingSodApe we were doing gothic literature
3:45 4:21 and 5:43 are subtly shot so that the Woman in Black is actually looking directly into the camera. Along with the obvious ending scene.
B.R Class Dalek Where was the 4:21 I couldn’t see her
@@jemmagrice3218 she was on the rocking chair but you could only see half of her face
The Ghost Of Eel Marsh House
Is Jennet Humfrye 👻
This movie scared the fuck out of me when I was younger, most jumpscares still catch me off guard. I would watch this shit in the dark, everyone asleep in other rooms with closed doors or at work, on the certain tv I had at the time. The screams and sights of fucked up kids, the mother hanging herself, and so on fucked with me BAD.
Imagine if Ron Weasley got scared, terrified, and frightened of the woman in black, If he appeared in this film with Harry Potter.
no one:
Absolutely no one:
me: *casually makes all the jump scares into memes*
Let’s see them
6:32 has the best effect because of the distortion of the scream
The part where she looked at him then hung her self... Biiiiiish I'm outta here bucko😂
Dear directors of Hollywood, please come out with a good horror movie! I haven’t seen one nearly as scary and jump scarish since I’ve seen this one in thesters
I just farted and it smells deadly
Fu.ck hollywood and iluminati directors
This fucking movie has some of the worst and scariest jump scares I’ve ever seen, watched it last night with my sister and we were literally hiding behind pillows for the whole thing!
This was scary as shit back in middle school. Nowadays, ehhhhh…
I feel the same way about Chucky. Every horror film is scary when you’re a kid, but when you’re a grown up, it’s real life that’s scary.
5:18 This jump scare actaully made me scream, only one in the film that really got me.
For the first scene, me and my friend were watching it in class and no one actually saw the Woman in Black, but we both stared at the background like "hmmm..." and when she turned we were both like "OOOOOO."
2B or not 2B In class? What kind of teacher would show a horror movie, especially this one, to his/her students?
@@AstonishingSodApe English Literature, In England we do Gothic Horror as like a topic and we watched this film to analyze it.
2B or not 2B Okay cool
Same! I watched this and saw her turn and I was terrified

Such a great movie. Very grateful I saw this in theaters. Such a underated movie!! Excellent jumpscares. So well done!!
I love the first little scare in the background, if caught me offguardr
Tell me I’m not the only one that wasn’t Frightened by any of these Jump Scares
Yeah it got boring fast
Now I've watched the film so many times I'm desensitised to them
Just the first time watching this, the first jumpscare me and a group of friends at school we were fucking going ape shit over it
Ok but where's the one with the girl in the house that's on fire?
1:35 5:43 6:09
