Hello Miss Bev, I am 9 years old and I have been watching you with my Mimi for 2 years.I love your new house and your couch is beautiful. I think plum would be beautiful on your fireplace. I try to do vignettes too.
You make everything beautiful ❤️
Good Morning, Sweet Girl🌷! Your comment has warmed my heart this morning. I must say, for 9 years of age you have a fabulous eye for decorating😊. Maybe you will choose to be a designer and go on many fabulous decorating adventures in life. May you and your Mimi have a blessed day! 🌷❤️🌷
*** 🌷We are never too young or old to decorate🌷. ***
I loved hearing Bev speak of you today on the other video. I send many blessings, and just know you’ll find a future decorating, and making the world beautiful. Maybe you can send a pic of something you’ve done to Miss Bev to share with us. That would be so wonderful. ❤
How lovely that you've been watching Miss Bev for so long , it's obvious that you love her decorating but I bet you also like to hear her stories of when she was a little girl.
She is very clever and I think you will one day be making videos for us all to watch but in the mean time keep watching Miss Bev with Mimi. ❤
Hello sweet girl 💜. I love that you are spending special time with your Mimi. So sweet to hear you speak of decorating as well. Keep watching Ms. Bev she is an awesome teacher. 🌷🌷🌷
When I was a little girl we didn’t have money for food let alone toys for 4 children, we had to be inventive. I would make my own paper dolls and design their outfits and use crayons to color them. I really enjoyed being a fashion designer 🙂 Your vintage houses reminded me of them.
@@judithclark2823 Sounds like your childhood was blessed with creativity!🌷❤️🌷
I think a green fireplace would be beautiful!❤ This room is going to be a beauty. I remember playing with paper dolls. Love those houses.
I love the stories about your mother. Mothers are so special, and I can tell by the way you talk about your mother you really loved and appreciated her.
A deep saturated green or beautiful sage green would look lovely on the fireplace, as would a black. The brass trim would look lovely with green, black, or plum. No doubt whatever you choose will look charming! The paper houses are so unique. You find the best treasures! ❤
I have probably waited too long , but I vote for taupe for the fireplace. I think it will give you more flexibility. Just my thoughts....
My granddaughter used to watch decorating and cooking videos with. me when she was young , we had such fun. So nice that you found the Little Blue Fly .. she is amazing , you will learn many wonderful things watch her videos.
LOVE the paper doll houses. Good find. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to Sundays new video. Take Care and God Bless Your Family. ♥
I’m a green gal myself. Plum sounds unique too. Loving the osier houses and your ability to stay child like. I too have that tendency💕
A beautiful sage green would be perfect. It would look great with the wood tones and it makes blue and white pop. Have a great weekend.
I love that you put that boxwood piece in the sewing machine drawer. They decorated sewing machine drawers so beautifully. Have had trouble finding any. I think by now you've chosen your paint, but I would choose a dark green. One of the things I've missed most, Bev, is your story telling, especially how sweetly you talk about your mother and family. My parents didn't have good childhoods at all. In fact they moved from Tennessee to Ohio/Michigan to get work in the 50's, so I really didn't know our extended family. You are so blessed to have these memories. My mom will be 91 in September and is a survivor. Still she relates life from the depression once in a while. It was so hard for her. So I love how you share these happy little stories. I wondered about the yellow cabinet as soon as you pulled your storybook painting out. Happy to hear you kept that. Its so cheerful. You had such gorgeous furniture pieces in the cottage 34:32 . Did you keep your sofa? I hope so. Can't wait till tomorrow!
The color green would compliment the wallpaper.
Yes a different shade of green would be pretty
I think green for your fireplace Bev , but just know you will make it perfect.
I love that you find things that remind you of your mum , I do the same.
She loved red roses so I try to include some when i can.
Mum's are so precious aren't they?
Your little rental is already looking magical, it's so good to have you back xxx
Same Green that's in the wallpaper. It will compliment the wood tones.
You are spoiling us, Bev. Love it when you pop up!
Thank you!🌷
I think green but i also think plum would look good. Everything looks beautiful. So so glad you are back. I love the paper houses. I so enjoyed playing with paper dolls and my Barbie dolls.
I think your choice of green for the fireplace will be perfect. ❤
Bev I believe you are very much loved. We are so grateful you are back with us ❤
You have such a great story telling voice! One of the reasons I started watching your videos was because of the sound of your voice and that beautiful laugh that you have! ❤ I enjoy your videos so much!❤️
Hey there! Meeting you and your hubby at Painted Tree today was an absolute delight. Your video was fantastic, and I'm eagerly looking forward to Sunday to see how everything turns out. Thanks for making my day!
@@angiewreaths Thank you, Angie! I love EVERYTHING about your booth and look forward to sharing with my wonderful RUclips friends.🌷❤️🌷
@@TheLittleBlueFly(づ๑•ᴗ•๑)づ♡ Thank you!
Green would be my first choice for the fireplace; black is my second choice. Can't wait for Sunday's video.
I love the warm green idea. I think it will pull everything together. I wish I had a cottage home so I could hire you to decorate. Everything you have I absolutely love.
My favorite quote, we don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing. Firmly believe in this. Thanks for the bonus video.
Its true. We grow old because we stop playing. ♥
Bev, you sound so happy in these last videos!!!!!! I'm sure kids and grandkids have everything to do with it!! I love watching you work your magic in each home you're in! Janelle from Ohio
I would use black on the brick. You can never go wrong no matter what other colors you bring into the room, and it proves to be a richness in color. The picture from your mother reminded me of your sunroom at your cottage, so cozy. You had a messy 4th but all turned out ok and so nice that other people stopped to help. See you Sunday Bev. Thanks for today ~
A dark color for the fireplace would be best! I was going to say black but plum would be gorgeous! It needs to pop! So glad you’re back Bev! ❤
Here's an idea for your fireplace. I got a sponge and cut it to the size of my bricks, taking care to let the 'grout' showing. Using a brownish-red acrylic paint, and blotting the paint on a paper towel, I sponged my bricks. Just an idea, I actually did this on a concrete sidewalk. I'm sure whatever you do with your fireplace will be absolutely beautiful❤
I like this idea if the brick underneath isn't there or isn't available or whatever. But I think brick would be awesome here.
I did this too, on a concrete patio. It was so much work, being bent over for so long, but it ended up being worth it. The concrete was cracked and stained in places, so the brick painted design looked so much better. I've done interior walls with this technique, and different colors of paint, and other faux details on the bricks, and I've never been disappointed
Thanks so much for this Friday video. What a great time watching and listening to you put your new home together with your usual exquisite taste and items. It’s so interesting hearing you tell us your thoughts. No sing-song kind of sound to your speech like so many of the RUclipsrs seem to have- just your kind and natural way. It’s just like a wonderful visit with a friend who happens to be so interesting and talented. I don’t care what color you choose 😂 for the fireplace because you will tie it together so well! I look forward to seeing it and your next video🤗😊🌟
Bev, you always make magic happen. The carboard buildings are so cute. Love your thinking and your sweet laughter gets me all the time. Taupe for the fireplace. I just know what ever you Pick is going to be awesome.
I had that artwork, The Fairytale, in my family room in the 1970’s and 80’s….I love the warmth and conveyance of simpler times….we need to surround ourselves with that…✨
Beverly. Such beautiful decor. Love what you do with your home. So nice. Thanks for sharing. Everything you do looks so lovely! Thanks so much!❤
So glad you are back!
The minute I saw your fireplace I thought I would paint it the same color green as your wallpaper.
But we know whatever you do will be lovely!
I think either green or plum on the fire place would look beautiful ❤love your paper houses and that picture of the little girls I’ve always loved it ever since you showed it! Thank you for sharing and putting up an extra video looking forward to Sundays!! Take care Laura ❤
So excited to see you. I am fairly new. Could you do an intro of info on yourself, Marital status, children, state you live in. I have missed a lot of all this background. And who is sweet Riley. I have already been looking online for vintage paper houses. You do such a beautiful sweet job with your decor. I also ordered 3 French Country large hardback books from Amazon after your last video. ❤️ Thank you, Sara in Ohio
I'm going with green for the fireplace. Love your paper village. Paper dolls are so much fun. I ordered and recieved the Patina Farm book. Love it so much. I especially love pages 78 and 99. My husband said he will build me a set of gates for our farmhouse. I've ordered the Cottage Christmas book. Cant wait to get it.
Green is safe. Plum would be outstanding!
Black might be an option for the fireplace. I also love green! Whatever you choose will be beautiful!
I think the green with your wood tone it would be lovely. Also I would put some rub and buff in antique brown for the brass surrounding to tone the brass, down some. For the hearth I would paint it black. If you have some fireplace irons in black that would showcase your hearth.. Have a wonderful time decorating your fireplace.
Black is always a good grounding color for the fireplace
Yes, I have thought on black, as well😊. Thank you!🌷❤️🌷
I’d love to see plum on your fireplace 😉. I’m enjoying seeing you pull your room together! Although my son and I did not get poured on or stuck in the mud, we did have quite the adventure (on foot) getting to and from the site of the fireworks due to police blocking off our main route. We crossed a small stream by stepping on stones, cut through neighborhoods, took small trials, and by a miracle we got to our destinations!
Yeah, the colors for the fireplace brick. I was Thinking black, dark navy, which would look lovely with all your blue and white or a muted Olive green.
I just love the top shelf of the hutch.. Those drawers are beautiful. A dear friend of my mother had the hearts and flowers pattern dishes. I always have loved them. I also loved, loved paper dolls! I would probably choose green for your fireplace. Whatever you do will be stunning, I know.💝💝💝
Thank you so much for sharing this Friday goodness with us! I wish I had an idea about what color for the fireplace, but I am leaning towards the green as well. So glad to see your beautiful French hutch find a home in your cottage! ❤❤❤
I’m happy they are allowing you to paint. It’s going to be lovely!
Hi sweetheart I trust that you can work your magic ✨ on the fireplace. Look what you have done so far. You are amazing and I appreciate you always..
I would choose green.
I loved the story about your momma. 💞💞💞
Thanks for the bonus video❤ I love watching all of your treasures coming to life in your home❤
Hi Bev, I was a little behind watching my RUclips videos. I'm glad you are back, I love your decorating style. For the fireplace I would go with the green that is in the wallpaper. I cannot believe someone is going to demolish that darling little home. I bet after you finish fixing it up and pouring so much love and style into it, they rethink their decision. I look forward to watching this process and am excited to see everything you do to make it a cozy home.
As with everything you decorate, the color you choose will look amazing! I'm thinking that the whimsy in you may at least try the plum! Thank you for taking the time to give us an extra video this week!
Oh a green would be lovely, but you already know that.❤
My wife Brenda watches you all the time, y’all have so much in common, she really enjoys your videos, Clanton,Al
Hi Bev. Thanks so much for the special Friday video. I'm so glad you are back. I like the green idea for your fireplace...and the plum too. Hard decision. So glad your family is doing good.
I am so glad you decided to go with a warm green, because that color crossed my mind as well, although I thought of other possible colors. I really like green. Matter of fact I just painted my small living room EVERGREEN FOG by Sherwin-Williams. Plum sounds beautiful, too.
You have such great taste in design and decoration. Whatever you choose green or plum will look amazing. The nice thing is you have choices and can choose a different paint color anytime. Can’t wait to see it finished 😊💖
Beautiful Pieces!!! Can’t wait to see it all come together!!! ❤
Also, can't WAIT for a whole house tour. I'd love to see a before tour of the house as is and then you can follow up with decor and finished videos 😆
Whatever color you choose it will be beautiful. I can’t wait to see it.
Green. so happy your Rily is thriving good after her last surgery ❤ God is good!
I love green for the fireplace, but the plum is very intriguing and might be worth a try!
I want to say green, however a rich plum would be spectacular !
I’m sure glad you’re back, your videos are relaxing!
Whatever color you choose for the brick will be pretty. I would use green to match the wallpaper. Then do a German Smear on the brick by dry brushing some beige. It would be so gorgeous!
Go with a green . Cant go wrong with a neutral color like green. Love anything green.
Personally, I’d pick the green. I really enjoyed the paper community. You make me look at items in a different perspective. Thank You. Now I’m interested in trying the candles.
I love seeing all your pretty things you decorate with. Those little houses are adorable. I know whatever you do with the fireplace will be beautiful. I hope you get some good ideas. I know you will make it beautiful. Have a great weekend.
I would paint it green, it’s my favorite color so that is what I would choose.
Hi Bev, I like all the Beautiful pieces you have to decorate with. Can't wait to see the end result. The 3 colors for the fire place are great, but to be honest I like the green best of all 3. I am excited to see everything you do. Thank you for sharing!
Bev I think you're on to something by leaning towards a warm green color for the fireplace. Personally I'm thinking that the plum may blend in to much with the warm wood mantel that you have, whereas the green would be a nice contrast to the wood mantel. Love, love, love those paper houses! Brought back many memories for me as well remembering all the paper dolls I played with. Also the picture of the three little girls reading a book is such a classic! Oh my Bev, I love everything you have thus far gathered to feather your new nest! See you on Sunday!
Bev, that fireplace would look good with warm rich soft sage green then use a brown tone stippled into the green to enhance the masonry (like antiquing wax - or a wash of umber colors) to give it tonal look. Need to do a sale run on tiles to cover those tiles in front of that pretty fireplace - or do some of your creative painting on the tiles!!!
I am currently painting our little cottage as well, and have the same wood paneling as you have, it was all dark and very ‘70 looking, now I paint it creamy white and soft grayish green, it is so wonderful and cottage like! Very old English cottage style, which I adore ❤love from the Netherlands
I think the green will be more of a needed accent color against your light colored wall. If you ever need a dramatic BRICK technique, a great idea is what's called a "German Smear" a natural brick color and then you smear plaster over it in places and smear it sparingly or more concentrated,it's a wonderful look.
Love what you are doing. Like the idea of warm green! Love your stories.
I think a color between a sea foam green and a sage green that has been "grayed" down would be soft enough to blend with the wallpaper and still be a warm color. Maybe a few marbled colored tiles for the floor to hide that red brick on the floor. Add some molding on the sides of the fireplace to match your paint.
The warm green would go nice with the wallpaper and it's a neutral. I tend to go with things that are different so I'd go with the plum.😂 Anxious to see what you pick.
Hi Bev! I’m so incredibly happy you are back!! ❤ I would would think green would be lovely, but you make everything beautiful!! Can’t wait to see what you do next! God bless! 🥰
Thank you so much!🌷❤️🌷
Love that you did this video! I forgot to post that I'd like the Friday video so I'm glad you've got a good response. You've made my heart so happy this week. What a blessing to have you back!
Wonderfully decorated thank you for sharing❤❤❤
Hi there, happy Sunday! Wow, I love how you styled your hutch, specifically with the little drawers and the preserved boxwood topiaries, so charming. Everything is coming together so beautifully. Hmm, the fireplace - I think you can’t go wrong with taupe (very neutral) but the green would warm the space, even black would be nice, because u have so many gorgeous black pieces, however, plum would most definitely be the unexpected, so I can’t wait to see where you go with this. One thing is for sure, it will be beautiful no matter which route you go, can’t wait! ❤
Green for the fireplace 😊
I'm living for Sunday's video because I need to see what color you went with. If it were me, I'm thinking I'd go sage green, but when you said plum it peaked my curiosity.
Mossy green for the bricks! Looking lovely already!
So happy you put a video out today. ❤❤❤
I would paint the fireplace brick a sage green. I think with the wood mantle would give it a "deep look" and a pretty focal point
Bev, this just what I would do. I am not trying to tell you what to do. But I would take the scallops off the top shelf of your beautiful hutch. Again I am not being critical. Everything is looking so good. I love those paper houses. ❤ I think of my Mother all the time. I miss her so much. She would love youtube so much. But not really the decorating. She would love the makeup and clothing, etc. We were very different but so close. I am glad you made it back from the fireworks. I am happy to watch "A Capitol Fourth", on PBS. Lol. Have a great weekend. See you Sunday. HUGS 🙏🌼
I like the idea of the aged taupe color for the fireplace
The warm green would be beautiful.
Wow, that picture really looks amazing in that hutch! All beautiful as alwsys❤
Love how things are coming along, see you Sunday, it's exciting anticipating what happens next.
Go with the Sherman Williams Dard Hunter Green…it’s gorgeous! Can’t wait to see it all put together. Have FUN!
I am so happy to see you back. You are my calming, sit with a cup of tea videos.
I’ve made several porcelain dolls. I love to make doll clothes for them. I must have made 75 /79.
Yep I love playing and looking at all my beautiful dolls.
Happy playing you and me. I don’t give a flip what people think of me. I’m 82 and I will play till I die.
Those paper buildings are absolutely gorgeous. I never knew they existed. What a treasure you have found.
You have such a whimsical and cozy style. I would go with the green. However, i recently watched someone that had a painted white brick fireplace and she took three colors like brown, clay and grayish. She randomly painted the bricks different then did a German smear over it. It was stunning.
What is a German smear? Thx if you comment❤
Thank you for the bonus video. I like the warm green idea as well as the plum. I love the paper houses and the love and appreciation you have for your Momma.❤
I'm very partial to taupe! I don't see it used a lot so it would feel more unique. It looks spectacular close to something black...and I feel it kind of "shape-shifts" to play along with seasonal decor. A terrific backdrop color.
You ❤ bunnies so does my grandson I cannot wait to sit an enjoy your videos he loves them as much as bunnies hugs
I'm so glad! Have a wonderful weekend!🌷❤️🌷
Green will be beautiful!
Hi Bev, you can never go wrong with green, can't wait to see it, everything is so beautiful. Xo
Thanks so much 😊!
A warm green or the taupe color for the fireplace. Love your videos!
You are so creative Bev! I couldn't imagine how you would display the drawers. They look wonderful with the boxwoods displayed on top of them. I love them! And those paper buildings are also wonderful. It's so good and comforting to hear that the little girl in you still wants to play with them. I won't tell my age But I enjoy repositioning my little doodahs on my shelves. I'm moving out of my apartment where I have lived and worked out of for over 28+ years and having to condense to a much smaller area at my Daughter's property. I love watching your videos......Continued Blessings and complete restoration to Riley
Love the new pieces and how eventually you will decorate them. The color of paint for the fireplace sounds like green might work and I guess the color of green. Love the teapot and cream/sugar the plates for goodies love the style of it. Thank you so much for sharing. 💙
Honestly, the Storybook painting is beautiful and works perfectly in the space where you have it. Just beautiful.
> love the idea of green on your fireplace. Best of luck with all the painting you must do.
Ok, also have to add that the picture of the 3 girls reading and your sweet story about it just absolutely spoke to me 💗
