    Kobe was beyond belief this year, when they had to win their final games ot get the 8th seed. Averaged 27, 6, and 6 and was almost like prime Kobe. Too bad his Achilles gave out on him.

    • @adamdaniel01
      @adamdaniel01 9 лет назад +21

      Achutha Srinivasan Mike D'Toni played him way too many minutes that season. His achilles injury was due to that. Kobe was playing ball as the best player in the NBA at that time. No Joke. Its sad to see we might not see that from him again due to the injuries :/ He takes a lot of crap from opposing NBA fans for being selfish which is absolutely ridiculous. 7 time winner of an always difficult Western Conference and 5 time NBA Champ. If that is was selfish NBA play leads to then sign me up!!!

      projectNERV I don't know if the coach was to blame there. Knowing how kobe is, he probably dictated his own minutes and wanted to play that much, especially if they were close to getting in to the playoffs, which they were.

    • @adamdaniel01
      @adamdaniel01 9 лет назад +9

      Bryan Trinh It was because of the coach. The media always asked D'Toni during that season, "Why are you playing Kobe at his age so many minutes?" That coach was a moron.

    • @SP-ie6nq
      @SP-ie6nq 8 лет назад +1

      +projectNERV nah bro the entire team has said that the coach kept telling him you need to take a break at some point and Kobe "I'll let you know when I need a break"

    • @adamdaniel01
      @adamdaniel01 8 лет назад

      Senor Panda Yes exactly you proved my point. The coach has the final say. You can't be a weak leader. The coach gets the final say regardless who the superstar is. It might be hard to believe but its true.

      Dat Kobe Fan i was telling people they would of gave the spurs a run, cus any kobe fan knows that kobe pretty much owns tim duncan, throughout timmys career he had at legit chance at winning a ring each yr they played LA in the playoffs but kobe and the lakers shut that shit down. Kobe is the whole reason tim duncan doesnt have 8rings, Shitted on them in 2001, 2004(*TY derrick.),2008.

When you add adversity, coaching changes, roster changes, core changes....Careers dont match up.IMO. If were talking pure #s , to the naked eye they match up quite nicely.

      Charlie Bju You have a point. But they were injury riddled. Barely played 6 games together with the five of Howard, Pau, Nash, Peace and Kobe. If they were healthy maybe a different story

    • @charliebju8286
      @charliebju8286 9 лет назад +3

      ***** They had injuries but they still had Dwight and Kobe most of the year. But Kobe went hero mode for the first half of the season to sustain his ego only to then start to playmake and they start improving. He was nowhere near the MVP conversation because with a top 5 player for the previous 4 seasons along with Kobe should be battling for the top seeds not the 8th.

    Man, this was not that long ago... It's so disheartening to remember how amazing Kobe was that year while the team came out of the gate absolutely embarrassing, started to come together, really began playing well, Kobe playing like he was 30 years old and then just - crash. And we're still picking up these pieces. But we got some good pieces. I hope we keep Clarkson, he'll continue to improve, he could become like 3/4 of Westbrook. Who knows what Randall's gunna turn into and now we have this second pic. That could be a great core moving forward. Just thinking about it has me so stoked! We'll be a playoff team in 2017, and then in 2018 and beyond we could start contending for titles, again!
    Or, we could screw it all up by getting rid of Clarkson and handing the keys to Rondo, somehow trade our second pick and Randall for K. Love. Take another chance with an even older Kobe. And maybe all that is a good idea, I dunno - I'm too emotionally attached to make any kinda decision. I love the Lakers unconditionally, man. Sometimes it's a real drag. But that is what being a fan is all about. Highs and lows. I'm a Laker for life.

    the Lakers main weakness in defense that year was scoring pgs. Dame, Russ, kyrie, etc. would easily penetrate and create easy wide open shoots for their teammates and attack the defensive rotations. if Kobe was healthy, I think this team would've matched up very well with the spurs and with a okc team without Russ and and a shaky Memphis team that year, I think the NBA would be finally had the glorious lebron v Kobe finals. if only smh

    I loved watching Kobe go for 47, but you can tell at this point in the season that something was about to go really wrong. Kobe was working his ass off more than I had ever seen, plus he was 34 years old. Kobe really started hurting by this time in the season, and I felt like he was getting worked waaaaayyy too much, like a pain in my stomach was making me anxious about his workload. And next game against the Warriors, his body finally gave out.

    Kobe's just one of those guys that doesn't need to be hot to score 40. You can say he takes so much shots- I say the fact that he can do that against the best perimeter defenders night in and night out shows his athleticism and elite condition. He is not going to dtop; he will try and do anything to get himself and his team on the winning end

    Kobe played 48 mins this game which means he didn't rest for a min. Then he broke his Achilles next game againsting Warriors. I feel bad for watching this game…

    Kobe was the only player in the WHOLE league to have 27 points along with 6 assists. At age 34, year 17. Not to mention, all the injuries he’s had.

      ***** Kobe probably isn't winning anything anymore but he definitely doesn't suck. I mean at this age he's still averaging 22 ppg and is one of the smartest players in the NBA.

      ***** Harden is not a great player. He is a good player but not a great one. He relies way to much on Freethrows and flopping. No defense whatsoever. Not to mention he turns the ball over so many times.

    i believe this was 6 or 7 games before the warriors game where he injured himself with the torn achilles, he even had like 39-41 minutes each game on that span, well cant blame d'antoni they need to play kobe those minutes so they can take hold of the 8th seed, well if kobe never gotten injured, he would still be top 5 in mvp ladder this year, he was top 3 on mvp ladder that year and went top 5 after that injury, heck if it werent for that damn injury kobe would still be top player in the league and schooling youngbloods

    • @gokugaming5647

    This was kobe's LAST GREAT GAME TOO. He tore his Achilles 2 day later. Lillard and Kobe will be forever tied.....strange because Rose hurt his knee vs Lillard....whos back but not scoring like he did.
    Oh, and Greg Oden ended Mutumbo's and Yao's careers. Dikembe and Yao both got hurt gm 6 vs the blazers banging with Greg. Yao's foot got hurt badly but he played the 2nd round vs the Lakers in 09' but was never the same. He rehabbed but never came back. Oden not long after succumbed to injuries.
