- Payday 2 LMG or light machine guns from worst to best! What is your favorite LMG or even favorite weapon in Payday 2?
Only 6 of this weapon class in Payday 2 but a strong one. If you like to not need good aim and spray, this could be for you! Damage mentioned on 120 damage LMG's can obtain a 2 shot headshot kill on DS heavy swat, but only just! 120 base damage plus 6 from fast and furious. Find just 2 more damage to x3.75 HS multiplier and you get 480! 480 x 2 is the 960 needed. Similar calculation for the 80 damage weapons but they achieve a 3 shot kill.
I also checked each weapon in this category for it's individual ammo pick up stat. 10 ammo packs picked up per weapon and then averaged gave me the numbers I show.

The RPK is basically just an AK with a longer, heavier barrel, and a heavier stock. So more than just visual similarities.

I would love to see a classic top loading bren gun.
A Bren would be rather interesting, it would probably be much like an assault rifle, just with no sights and a bipod.

i love how lmgs have visible iron sights and sight rails but you cant equip sights on them

Yeah not to shit on Overkill for something like that but it's annoying and makes using LMGs on big maps difficult, specially when there's snipers and the f*cking bots won't shoot at them

The last time i was this early you could dominate guards to avoid pagers in stealth

i played a roblox ripoff of payday 2 before i actually started to play payday 2 called notoriety and in the game hostaged cops did not have pagers but now they updated it and they do
edit: no one asked but the story of how i started to play the game is that i saw a russian badger video about payday 2 and when i compared the 2 games i realized that they were very similar, so i decided to start watching a lot of payday 2 videos, then i got the game, but because the only pc device i have is a 2014 macbook air that cant even run roblox on max graphics so i had to get the console version

This is why I run the LMG sight mod, since not being able to use the sights on a gun that definitely has them and can mount optics is pretty stupid.

And forgot to mention, Hitler's Buzzsaw was the American nickname for the gun, because of it's extreme fire rate makes it sound like a Buzzsaw

Im 99 percent sure it was the british nickname to begin with but it spread amongst the allies including the Americans plus it would make sense as well the British were the ones fighting against the Germans for the most part when compared to the us
honestly, not having iron sights isn't that big of a deal, especially after the addition of official crosshairs

Let's hope they add the mechanic of being able to aim down sights of Lmgs in Payday 3 this year. Or maybe being able to alternate between the two depending on the situation.
LMGS and Body expertise ace make most difficulties feel like normal.

As an -easy mode- LMG user I'm extremely sad they nerfed the M60. It's my favorite LMG to run with my anarchist builds. It's still viable but the ammo situation can get rough at times. I've found I have a much easier time keeping the Buzzsaw topped off spraying and praying then it is to keep the M60 topped off playing very conservatory. It was nice having a high damage LMG at the forefront of the meta for once.

I still prefer the KSP over the Buzzsaw, because the Buzzsaw having a lower magazine, higher fire rate and slower reload make it that you will be reloading way more often.
The buzzsaw's ability to instakill dozers makes it better for me

Buzzsaw is way cooler though.
The rate of fire is great on dozers as you can just melt its face off with 150 rounds shoved down its throat in just a few seconds.
But aside from that, you'll be reload enough that isn't almost annoying. Still. love the gun tho
i love the Buzzsaw just because i put a suppresser on it and do stealth with it and somehow not be the one of my friends that gets detected

Loved the little bits of trivia for each weapon! Definitely agree with the number 1 place; I tried it out when I started and I just couldn't look back. The firing sound is so good too!

I personally prefer the KSP over the Buzzsaw due to the KSP being easier to use at longer ranges and you don't have to reload it as often, but up close it definitely can't compare to the sheer DPS of the Buzzsaw

Loved that you added some background info for the guns (even though not everything was correct, but mistakes happen)! Gave the list a bit more spice.
Also, your pronounciation of "Maschinengewehr 42" was really good, considering most people who don't speak german just look at the word and already give up trying to pronounce it.

The Brenner 21 modeled after the H&K21 not the bren lmg which is the weird ass British lmg with the mag on top and offset iron sights
By that time, bren style was actually fine (faster to reload and less issues in feeding by having gravity help with magazine feeding)

It might just be due to me being on console but the Brenner is so OP since with scavenger aced its practically impossible to run out of ammo and has amazing stats with the right build and mods. PC seems like a whole different game sometimes.
It definitely seems different sometimes. No weapon updates for years on console froze time where weapon stats on pc have changed a lot over the past year. I never run out of ammo really with any lmg

I will say I appreciate the little bits of IRL trivia this episode also has alongside the in-game stats. I'm assuming that's just because there are so few LMGs that you can afford to spend more time to give more info on each.

Love the extra added irl facts about these firearms. I do believe the Brenner is based off of the German HK-21 lmg but I could be wrong. Either way awesome video!

No bully intended. Brenner is an Heckler & Koch beltfed machinegun from the G3 family of rifles (mp5 , HK21, G3 ,Psg1 , basicaly Coldwar era Hk selfloading guns, although the ww2 mp/stg44 is also roller deyayed, not sure about the mg42 though) Roller delayed is the selfloading "action" of the gun. Basicaly the casing of a 7.62x51 mm cartrige is not strong enough to contain the "explosion" (deflagration) of it's gunpowder during firing without being supported by the guns chamber (the place the bullet is seated inline with the barrel prior to being fired). The aformentioned " Rollers" prevent the action from opening and ejecting the spent casing untill the preassure inside the chamber/casing lowers to a level at which it wont turn the spent casing into a mini frag grenade. Almost all modern selfloading guns need to have such a mechanism (very low powered guns do not need to , but 9x19mm/ standard 9mm usualy needs it , rifle calibres definitely need a some sort of a dellayed action). Other actions are short stroke gas piston, long stroke gas piston, tilting barrel browning action, inertia driven action , long recoil action and a fiew others

The Brenner 21 is basically a LMG variant of the G3 rifle (Gewehr 3 ingame) and it was quite underrated back when it came out, where weapons like the "jaMMy 60" were more popular despite being inferior in every aspect.

I recently tried the RPK with concealment boost and concealment mods, paired with berserker and low blow aced. The damage output is crazy but suffers from accuracy and stability which can be mitigated with bipods. It’s really fun to spray dozers in the face and drop them in seconds due to the high damage paired with crit. Do try it

I love the M60. I'm an American, and a gun nut, so it's already one of my favorites, but the reduced firerate makes it much more manageable, thereby making it technically have better recoil and accuracy than its stats say. Love the way it looks, sounds, and feels. Shame they nerfed it.

Regardless of the ranking, I'd recommend to try the "whatever stupid ingame name" MG42 has, with the MG34 barrel and the green laser sight... I fell in love with that combo and built a nice skillset around it.. But it's been a few years since I've played the game last time haha xD Edit : I didn't expect the Buzzsaw to be number 1
Honestly not surprised the Buzzsaw tops all. I favor it over all other machine guns and is a necessity in my anarchist build.

Thanks for doing LMG's! Been using the KSP 58 because I had a rare skin for it but gonna take another look at the Buzzsaw. One question though... How does the Minigun compare in your opinion to LMG's?
I really like the mini gun and you can get crits with it if I remember correctly, would be a tough call, but probably top 2 here
Minigun doesn't work that well for DSOD. I would just use it in Overkill or below.
@@mr__music5719Actually I found a minigun/microgun armorer setup that makes miniguns viable on even DW difficulty, it will usually struggle on DS though, atleast from my experiences
I think you should update this list. A couple more LMGS were added, and adding another addition to the ranking playlist a year or so later would be cool.

I love the RPK used to use the ksp alot for anarchist for true spraying ng potential along with the potential for some ranged
But with leech I've recently used the RPK with crits, it's really fun, but ranged is your enemy, spraying here isn't the goal, it's more like a shotgun that has a may, getting close and spraying up while crouched. You'll spend most of your time crouched with this type of RPK, but it's run to just tear through people with body expertise and crits

If this game wasn't dead, I'd be poking to get this revisited, what with balance patches, and 9 LMG now... but I can take what you teach here, and try to figure it out, or just settle for the KSP.
The mistake with the Brenner made me chuckle. I'm guessing wherever you got the information for the Brenner didn't have pictures, because the Bren IRL looks preeetttyyy different (Seriously, it's magazine is _upside-down._ )
The Brenner (HK21, or G8/G8A1 IRL) is actually a really interesting gun to me. It's actually the bigger brother to both the MP5 and G3(Ingame called the Gewehr 3), with the obvious big difference in that it's feeding mechanism is belt-fed instead of magazine-fed, though they are all still roller-delayed blowback. You _can_ insert an adapter to change it accept magazines, in which it uses the G3's 20 round magazines or a 50 round drum.
Too much irl for me to comprehend lol
The minigun, despite being classified as a special weapon. I have way too much fun running that as dodge/crit.

I love the mg42 just such a good gun I use it in every game I can. But it pains me so much you have to change it's barrel out for the mg36 barrel as it's far better in payday. I'll have to use it again next time I play as I mainly had been using the m60

I rarely use lmgs but if I do It's usually with my bulldozer setup and ngl you feel like a beast with it
Because my main weapon of choice is a minigun with an 8 second long reload time whenever I use an lmg it feels like switching from a flamer to a speed pull mag.
Awesome my Favorite Lmg is RPD in Call of duty and PayDay 2 lmg is the M60 and the Mg42

I tend to name my weapons once they're in my inventory and modded. My MG42, which I'm using for solo runs that eventually may see me heisting without AI at all, is named 'Ze German.' Not as linguistically evocative as "Gonorrhea Syringe" but I figured some might get a kick out of it.

i like the M60 more because the lower fire rate allows you to keep firing for longer, and if you can get it down on a tripod shoot down a hallway or a huge group of enemies and have a laser on it, that means damn near endless bullet hell for the cops

Man, i love using LMGs to keep enemies at bay the normandy style, deploy the bipod on a window leading to wide clear area or a bottleneck in a hallway and shoot down every enemy in sight with short bursts while having my own ammo back besides me (loud FWB heists are a delight).
I always kill the highest number of enemies when doing this, but after watching this video, am i using LMGs wrong?

My gamer literally read the Wikipedia entry for the Bren without looking at any of the pictures
I find that LMGs are both good with tank builds and sentry builds with there high amounts of ammo and in some cases high amounts of damage a shot, for my tank I would mostly use the bren or buzzsaw and with my sentry build I would use the M60 since it's high damage and slower RoF which helps with ammo management
Recently I got into the game and wanted to try out an lmg but didn’t know which one and when watching through this I was hoping the MG-42 was the best and Im glad it is cuz it’s my favorite looking lmg and behind it is the rpk cuz who can go wrong with an AK-47 variant?

best way is crime spree, after getting like 100 crime spree ranks you'll earn like 50 continental coins
Well you get 1 coin for every million xp I think. Crime spree used to be good but not sure anymore

Id say theres a pretty good argument for slower lmg fire rate being a better option, since you can dump stability since its easier to control.
I always found the slow fire rate to be a hindrance compared to using as a metric in dps based on hitting or missing shots but if low stability and slow fire rate work, def use it mate!
Lmg is my favorite type of weapon,especially with the bigger the better suppressor and specialized killing aced
