    I have never owned a Savage 110 that couldn’t put three bullets touching with just about any ammo i could load or find. They just flat shoot good and they’re priced very affordably. As far as zeroing goes, for most of my hunting rigs I’ve switched to a 50 yard zero to get a more ideal trajectory for most ethical hunting shots, providing essentially no hold over out to 250-300 yards depending on the cartridge. For consistency’s sake, I’ve decided to just use this zero for everything and it has been a no brainer. Even out to 1200+ yards, I don’t think I’ll go back to “1” high at 100” unknown zeros or even the 100 yard zero. The 50/200 is just the easy button IMO. Quick zero, 100% confidence its dead on and requires no hold overs for most ppl’s comfortable hunting ranges.

    Nice, nice! We are happy with our Savage 110s. Mine is the Storm in 7mm Rem Mag. It is an excellent rifle. My son bought the Apex Storm in 30/06. He took off the Vortex and put one of my old 70s-80s Redfield Tracker scopes on it. Good hunting rifles for sure.

    I totally agree with you on barrel break in. Any burrs or rough spots will polish down with normal use. When they're this good out of the box - why worry about it? 🎯

    I once was given a 30-06 to test for a week. It was an old Savage, 1970’s vintage. It had absolutely the best trigger I ever pulled and was a tack driver with 165-168 gr bullets.

    I have the previous version of that rifle, Predator Hunter Max-1 in 22-250. It is the most accurate factory rifle I own. Infact it gives a few of my custom rifles a run for their money. Shooting 55 gr Blitzkings with H380 it will consistently get 3/8" groups at 100. My best group so far with it was .258", 3 shot group at 200 yards

    I went and sighted in my Savage 22-250 today. All I had was remington Core-Lokt 55 grain psp, and they did pretty good. It was so hot that I mainly wanted to get it sighted in and get some chronograph readings. It averaged 3577 f.p.s over three shots. It was 95 degrees outside, so being precise wasn't on my agenda today.😅 It did shoot m.o.a for being rushed, so I felt good about that. I hadn't shot a 22-250 since I was a kid. Brought back an inner love affair.

    I own a late 80’s Savage 110 in 308 beautiful gun! Has a gorgeous walnut stock with like tiger stripe grain in the wood blued action and barrel and my favorite and what I grew up with old school iron sights! Out to 200 years this old savage is deadly with iron sights also got a scope with mounts I can still use the irons if I need to for closer or if my scope goes down but with the scope it’s putting holes in holes lol amazing gun savage never let me down I own newer 110’s as well as the cheaper Axis never had a issue and all are sub moa at 200 all touching. Great rifles! But that old savage 110 in 308 is my go to gun feels good, looks good, and is very very accurate!

    Nice vid Whotee, Got my Mod 10 Savage Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor, back from Savage and got her under .6 inch. Think I can get her under 1/2 with this thing i heard called center pectoral, don't know but hoping so,. I also realized my trigger was heavier then when I sent it in, I usually shoot around 2 1/2 pounds but savage sent it back to me at 3 lbs. My bad. but with those two things I am hoping for some groups to write home about. Thanks for another cool vid , on Savages no less, I always wondered why gun tubers like Backfire don't videos on more Savages like the Hunter and the High country do, timberline and the Predator, but they make countless videos on Savages budget models. Anyway, thanks for looking out Whoo-tee.

    I’ve been shooting for 65 yrs. I have tried all kinds of zeros, but I have always come back to a one hundred yard zero. You should shoot each of the distances and figure out the drop. Information is power. I think you have a shooter, but always let the barrel cool. If you treat it right it will take care of you. A bull barrel is obviously different and can take more.

    The 110's are great rifles. Me personally, I find it a hard toss up between the 110's and the Ruger American Gen II rifles. I miss having a 22-250, the 243 is great but a 22-250 is no slouch when it comes to a small bullet, it's definitely a little speed demon!

    Would you please answer a question for me. Where I hunt , it could be within 100 yards out to 3 or 4 hundred yards sometimes more. I’ve always been taught to sight my guns in at 2 to 3” at 100 yards. That way I can aim right on out to longer distances than sighting in at 0 at 100 yards. Is there some reason you sight in at 100 yards always? Is it because you hunt in closer quarters? I’ve found out that by sighting in the way I do it I can usually reach out an extra 100 or so yards and still hit the vitals. Just curious. Almost everyone I know in my area has been taught the same thing as me. Almost. This isn’t a criticism. It is a question that I’m really curious about. Thumbs up to your channel. Some of the things you bring to my attention have helped me to understand better, and make me a better shot. Also, some of the guns that you have introduced, I have purchased and I really do appreciate it. One last note I am a fan of Woodstocks. I do not dislike synthetic stocks, but there’s something about a nice piece of wood for a stock that just makes my guns look great. And I do some other stocks on my guns. I know it makes them lighter, but I also noticed that I get a little more recoil on the larger guns. Once again, thanks for contacting Arkin for me. I really appreciate you.

    • @WHOTEEWHO
      @WHOTEEWHO  3 месяца назад

      Most of my shots are at 50 yards where we hunt. Also I sight in at 100 yards and make my long range drop charts based off that. I do not agree with the 1 or 2 inches high method. That way you assume your bullet is still in the kill zone with certain ranges and it will be okay. I want to know exactly where I put my bullet. And I do that with dialing or holding in the reticle.

    • @charleswinter2639
      @charleswinter2639 3 месяца назад

      when I sign in high by 2 inches or so I practice out at different distances so I know exactly where my bullet will go. Kinda like having a chart except I make my own chart, but I understand why you don’t do it now. Some people in at 200 yards I don’t agree with that, some people sign in at 250 yards. I don’t agree with that. Just give you an example when I shoot my 243 I am too much is higher 100 an inch and a half high at 206 inches low at 300 and so on, but I know exactly where I’m going to hit at the distances given one of the reasons I do what I do is because I don’t have time to range a lot of our deer are moving fast and they only give me just a moment to shoot. I guess every area and every person has their own reasons and I respect that. Also, the way I’ve been taught for 60 years. And it seems to work for me. I was just curious why you didn’t. Thanks for your answer. It’s much appreciated.

    • @charleswinter2639
      @charleswinter2639 3 месяца назад

      I have an idea. How would you like to do a program about siding in at 2 inches high or 2 1/2 inches high and then going out to 100 200 300 400 500 or more yards and see what the differences between the drop chart on the box of bullets or the ballistic chart you get off the Internet, and what my theory does I think it would make for a great show. I would be very, very interested and I know a lot of my friends would too. Just keep that in mind. I just think it would be kind of fun to watch you might be surprised how many people would be interested in doing that.

    I think it would be a cool video to lay out multiple rifles of different caliber.. 2 rounds each at 300 yds.. WTW 👍

    Who Tee Who, I hate to spam your comments but I just remembered something. Savage has a $100 rebate going on the 110's right now, and a $75 rebate on the Savage Axis. I bet your last couple Savage purchases qualify. You can find the rebate on their website. You can claim as many as you want.
