In Buddha Garden April 1st - April 6th 2024

This week we have continued bed preparation as well as seed drying as well as seedling transplantation. Finishing off the nursery has also taken quite a lot of time as we had to block up the holes around the bottom - between the bottom of the structure and the ground - where animals could have got in. We did this with pieces of cadaper, a kind of stone, but they had to be carefully put into the ground so there were no places where animals could get through. Once that was completed we put in shelves and seedling trays full of soil so we could immediately start planting seeds. Finally we put a shade net over the roof as where it is standing gets overhead sun at certain times of the day making it very hot which the little seedlings find difficult. I think over time we will work out the best way of protecting the structure from both hot sun and heavy rain.
