I feel like your remixes of classic DOOM OST should be a mod for Classic DOOM games, heavier than the Revolving Service Structure of launch pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. I feel like I can play this at a metal concert.
As big an admirer as I am of your tracks, to be brutally honest I feel this one hasn't quite hit it right; in fact I haven't found ANY really good cover of this track yet. All covers I've found so far try to make too much of this track, putting new and often elaborate tunes into it, but imho the real spirit of the track lies with the name of the level of it - "Dead Simple". It doesn't need a lot of flair really, as basic as the original melody is, I still think it works the best. And, I know it's a matter of taste here, but I don't think the pitch needed to be this low - imo it works better at the mid-range of the original. You captured the "hardness" of the song well though ;) . Are you planning of doing a remake of this track at some point maybe? ;D

You should watch Gordon's presentation thereof. It *would* have been exactly what you describe, had the plan been followed to the letter, and not... oh, I don't know, Gordon showing up with BFG Divison and so on.
This song is just perfect so deep and heavy. I wish you could make more of the really deep and heavy stuff. I need background music for my DayZ videos. And people really dig rock'n'roll music, like yours.

Layer Ant Thanks! I did play Half-Life 1 and 2, but the soundtrack there is more ambient. They don't have a tune if you know what I mean? it's more just sound / noise. The DooM tracks were ment to be metal, but only made on midi instruments, so I felt there was room for improvement to make those tracks shine more.

Though I thought a track like Hard Technology Rock from HL1 could be good in metal form, it might not work in your style of play, no offense if you know what I mean. Not all music is for metal remixing since music from Half-Life is meant to be more of a regular/blues rock sound.
It's interesting how the doom community is now all about Chunky Pixels mode and no vertical aim, but you can see in the video here that is now from 10 years ago the gameplay has smooth filtering enabled and clearly there's vertical aim in what is likely GZDoom.

Thanks! Yeah I am pretty sure it's me playing if I remember correctly. Back in 2013 I had Zandronum DooM engine and recorded a lot with Bandicam.
