I'm really loving this series. Such a great, in depth look into the history of ttrpgs and you have such a wealth of knowledge about the subject.

I had forgotten about that Lankhmar map, with its dozens of blank spaces off the beaten path to fill in as you go. That was quite in keeping with the setting, as those back alleys were unique and mysterious environments. You never knew what you'd find around the corner in that town. The uniform grey squares marking them on the map looked a bit odd, though. I got that set for Christmas in the '80s, and when I opened the map my first thought was "Why does Lankhmar have so many car parks?"

Both spelljammer and planescape have been released for 5th edition. Dark sun is unlikely to ever see an official release due to themes like slavery being problematic for wotc. Otherwise, great video. Love the nostalgia - currently thinking about running an AD&D 2nd edition campaign when my current 5e campaign finishes.

Yup. As you can see, there was something of a delay between me recording the video and us uploading it!

@@shopontheborderlands I wondered if that might be the case. When my current 5e campaign (a conversion of the 3.5e Dungeon magazine Age of Worms adventure path) finishes I'm thinking about running some 2nd edition Planescape.
