I had heard of Marks & Spencer from a British friend in America many years ago, and the name stuck in my head. I had never visited England until this year, but imagine my delight when we took the "lift" from the "car park" ;) and found ourselves right inside an M&S Food Hall! This American's first shopping experience in England, and a very pleasant experience it was. What a great video - I love histories of everyday life!

M and S food fab but the rest is better than it was but you cannot beat the old days of M and S "Over 80 per cent made in Britain". I no longer buy my clothes in M and S. Then again we had 5 coastal stores near us but now only have 1 original store from when I was a child.
