Its been going on forever. I got married in 1979 gas was .99 a gal interest rates were 18% and wages were around 2.00 hour. I used more blankets, turned my thermostat down to 52 and set in a cold house last month during our COLDEST TIMES (SO FAR) here in North Texas, so my electric bill wouldn't go up too much. As a self employed person my income doesn't increase unless I make more deals and that relies on the housing market and constantly churning sales. We had to shift our monies fast when Biden became "president" and fortunately our financial advisor is doing a decent job; however, it's nearly impossible to truly put away enough for the future, because people are using savings to live... people are having to pull from their future to pay for the present; putting more into our retirement funds; however, come 2025, they have plans for a major tax increase as well, which defeats the concept of lower taxes in retirement. You can plan all you want, yet, we can not predict the future... other than the biblical prophesies unveiling before our eyes these days. Praying we make it to 2027 and can meet our goals. My husband will retire and get a PT job at a local hardware for the engagement; I, shall never retire. They cook the books when they measure inflation. It's actually much worse than they say. They look at things across the board. So, if 80" Tvs and private yachts have dropped a bit in price they count that too. But working class and retired folks aren't buying those things, especially when they can barely afford to buy groceries. Inflation disproportionately affects necessities like food, medicine, energy, etc, but has little affect on luxury items. This is because when inflation is high like it is now, few people can buy luxury items. So, that keeps them from inflating much. But necessities are things people have to continue to buy even when they price goes up. So, those items are the ones that get inflated the most. As a consequence, working people suffer and struggle while the wealthy barely notice. That's why Yellen doesn't see the problem.

At my job, a steel mill, wages have increased by 42cents per hour since the pandemic. An extra $3.36 per day doesn't make up for the massive increase in new and used vehicle prices, interest rates on mortgages, massive jumps in fuel prices, my electricity bill is up almost $80 per month, my health insurance is way up despite having worse coverage, my food costs are up for everything at the grocery store. So yeah, Wages are NOT up, especially in comparison to pricing increases on EVERYTHING.
Take away taxes on that 42 cent raise and it really only means you get maybe an extra $2.00 a day, WOW, still get robbed from a drop of kindness!

The prices will come down, but as a consequence of a collapse of American Economics. This is a Capitalist Country, and the Obama, Carter, Clinton, Bush, Obama/Biden Socialist Economics had driven this price increase ie Inflation. We are a Constitutional Republic and every legal citizen has EQUAL rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. How can a citizen be free and Happy if you tax them out of their savings, like Obama and Obama/Biden has done. Remember when Obama, Biden stated “it won’t cost the taxpayer one dime” while explaining why spending the $34 Trillion dollars over seas in Ukraine and elsewhere? Well, that’s inflation there, you have 100% of real money in circulation and in the savings accounts, so when you duplicate that money with FAKE $$$, you are diluting the value of each dollar.
What’s next? Force a digital dollar system that allows the Deep State to track every dollar that you spend, and control that spending. Remember the statement, “you will own nothing, and be happy”. These people are clueless. Grocery prices are up 30%. Wages aren't going up. She's crazy.
But what about your insulin copay? Isn't that just as good as a 30% wage increase?
Not to mention, governments have substantially increased property taxes (mine is up 400%), sales tax (mine is up 2.4% this year), license renewal fees (another tax), and the list goes on.

Try to "google" prices from 2-3 years ago, its almost impossible to find. Luckily I have a friend who is a supplier for several chains and its not good. He told me vegetables are not that bad but meat has risen 50%, processed food and canned goods have risen about 30%. Now add energy prices for home heating, electricity and rent is up 20% over the same period.
Where are all these pay increases we hear about??? I'm a professional IT worker make the same as I did 15 years ago. In 2009 I took a job for 135K and today I make a 135K. I lived great in 2009 and today in California after taxes my rent is 1/2 my paycheck. Average 1500 sqft townhome over 1 million dollars 135K and I'm a poor renter at 52 years old. This all due to the Federal Reserve picking winners and losers and bailing out risk takers while stabbing everyone else in the back.

Never stay at a company more than 2 years. Start looking for a new job every 18 months.
Every 2 years you stay loyal to one company is a 10% decrease in your overall potential earnings. Companies don't value loyalty or integrity. They will invest during a new hire and then ignore their long time employees.
