For those who don't know, the baby in this game is based on the being known as Hastur from the Lovecraft universe. Hastur is known as the King in Yellow and is associated with the arts, such as storytelling. It drives artists mad and uses them to disseminate it's symbol, the Yellow Sign, which further enslaves people to its will. Hastur is also associated with a planet called Carcosa, which was once home to a powerful and prosperous civilization until Hastur came and drove it to ruin.

One of the things the devs of this game really nailed is "show don't tell." They give you a basic task, but instead of just giving you some game hud element that tells you everything, they use actual thematic elements to do it instead.
I was also surprised when I found out about the version called the "Bedtime Stories Update" which adds new activities, more souls that you'll need to collect to unlock new features (one of which includes a new container to unlock called "The Doctor's Gift" which must be unlocked in a similar manner to the demon baby's Toy Box), & there's a new attic area with a teaser for what is (I think) new content coming this year! The apartment has also received a makeover so the interior looks more like a house instead of an apartment. Reminder for newbies: Make sure you collect all 6 trapped souls in the demon baby's apartment BEFORE you try to find the 6 new trapped souls on the Escape AKA the "White Rabbit" route! The events of the original 3 nights have also changed enough so that they're worth replaying again even if you've already seen how the 3 nights played out beforehand! I also highly recommend that people try flushing the demon baby down the toilet. It's tricky to place him on it after putting the lid up, but it can be done! 😉
We're probably all going to hell for laughing at Sean putting the baby in the oven, even though it's a devil baby and the oven exploding + his reaction was absolutely hilarious!

The heavy implication of that baby in a yellow shirt with a crown is that the baby is either Hastur The King in Yellow from the Cthulhu Mythos or a reference to it. Either way, I love the game. I enjoyed the horror experience. It's very scary! I love playing this game! Well done to Team Terrible for developing The Baby In Yellow. I laughed so hard when the baby smiled after being put in the oven by Jack. Nice parenting, Jack!
for some reason the tape gave me the impression that the baby is hastur's child. that and the bedtime stories in the newly updated version (he must have had this saved or something cause it was updated a couple days ago) talk about a 'little prince' that has the same eyes as the baby and looks around 4 edit: i HAVE to stop commenting before i finish the video smh
They're even qouting the play. The "We spoke of Hastur and Cassilda" is from Yellow Sign "Night fell and the hours dragged on, but still we murmured to each other of the King and the Pallid Mask, and midnight sounded from the misty spires in the fog-wrapped city. We spoke of Hastur and of Cassilda, while outside the fog rolled against the blank window-panes as the cloud waves roll and break on the shores of Hali"
@@finn_in_the_bin5263 Oh, maybe it's The Child. According to In the Yellow Wiki, Cassilda, the Queen of Carcossa has a grandchild that is only reffered to as The Child and whose parentage is not really fully revealed. It could be Camilla's(if she's the daughther...since in some version she's the sister) and either Hastur's directly or her and one of the two princes but like in a Rosmemary's Baby situation, where there was a ritual involved. And the child is now demon baby.
I love how Sean's first instinct when going into a kitchen to get milk for a baby is to put the baby on top of (proving unsuccesful) and then into the oven (I'm not judging, it would've been the first thing I did too)
If anyone is interested, The Baby in Yellow is based on the short story (written as a play) by Robert Chambers titled The King in Yellow. “for I knew that the King in Yellow had opened his tattered mantle and there was only God to cry to now.” ― Robert W. Chambers, The King in Yellow

Haven't seen the whole video yet so dunno if it comes up, but I love how this game is just a more goofy version of the king in yellow. Its,I believe, 4 short stories about a play called the King in yellow. While no one knows what the play intails, people who witness it or become part of its creation on stage end up going mad and see a person drapped in a yellow cloak . It's often associated with lovecraft and eldritch horror.
I can agree with that one because I just watched my 7 year old cousin take a bite out of a pumice stone..... and my parents wonder why they won't have grandchildren

Just so y'all know, this "demon child" isn't a demon, he's based off of an eldritch lovecraftian entity known as Hastur (the King In Yellow), which is why the baby has a Crown on his jumper. Also, at the end, he is levitating to Hastur's home planet Carcosa (P.S., Hastur and Cthulu are brothers)

Today's fact: The reason the plural of Goose is Geese (same with tooth/teeth) but the plural of Moose is still Moose, is because the aforementioned comes from the Latin language while the latter comes from Native American languages, so it doesn’t follow the same rules as most other words.
AAAAAA I JUST REALIZED! the title of the game, and the way the title screen if shaped, - "Act 1, Scene 2", - is based on the story of "The King in Yellow", a play which drives whoever reads it insane, written about by Robert W. Chambers in his short story collection under the same name. Lovecraftian horror before Lovecraft even began to write, - The Kind in Yellow came out when H. P. Lovecraft was 5 years old, and it's very possible that Lovecraft was inspired by some of the things written in The Kind in Yellow. Just thought I'd share, The King in Yellow is one of my favourite short story collections.
The baby is clearly either the child of Hastur The King in Yellow, or heavily inspired by Hastur from the Cthulhu Mythos just in case you were unaware.
You can be the cat and naively bring him where he needs to go, or you can be a mindless sheep following him to your death, OR you can take the path of the rabbit and you can escape. I like that a lot :).

i got hired to do a babysitting job for the first time and this is not helping my anxiety. thanks for the terrifyingly terrific content Jackaboy, all the way from Potato Country. edit: did the babysitting, i didnt put the baby in the oven!
Depending on the age, babysitting is usually pretty easy. Anyone that can afford babysitting is usually the kind of person who cares about how well behaved their kids are. But if they are bad, don’t be scared to tell the parents you’re no longer interested. Your happiness should be balanced with your job, not lesser than your job.
They mention Hastur in this game, he is known as the king in yellow. The baby is also referred to as a prince, and obviously the baby in yellow, if you play the updated mobile game. Hastur is a prominent entity in the Cthulhu Mythos, being his half brother. Hastur's kingdom is known as Carcosa, which is also referenced, and Hastur himself is heavily connected to entropy itself. We're babysitting the child of an unspeakable lovecraftian horror, who was fathered by a being of pure entropy. No wonder the baby is evil.
I love the nods to “The King in Yellow” throughout this silly game Edit: “the king in yellow” is a horror story written by Robert W. Chambers, just in case people were wondering.
The Baby in Yellow is supposed to be like the King in Yellow. That's why the piano song is called "The King's Lullaby" and there is a yellow king chess piece

Nice parenting, Jack!
for some reason the tape gave me the impression that the baby is hastur's child. that and the bedtime stories in the newly updated version (he must have had this saved or something cause it was updated a couple days ago) talk about a 'little prince' that has the same eyes as the baby and looks around 4
edit: i HAVE to stop commenting before i finish the video smh
it is Hastur
Light of carcosa shines brigth, brother
I love how Sean's first instinct when going into a kitchen to get milk for a baby is to put the baby on top of (proving unsuccesful) and then into the oven

If anyone is interested, The Baby in Yellow is based on the short story (written as a play) by Robert Chambers titled The King in Yellow.
