I've been a lazy reefer for about 8 years, my leather is huge and I recently started selling some green mushrooms because they've spread across my tank and won't stop multiplying.
Been re-educating myself and going to do better but certain corals definitely seem to be happy with high nutrients.

I used my tank water to do wc on qt tanks, grow pods, and ,after sterilizing, to grow phyto.

I run a sediment filter whole house filter. Then through a whole house filter but I use carbon then through a UV FILTER then back into the sump. I run this 8hrs each day.

10micron and after water change I run 5micron for 24hrs. Then switch it back out. Tanks clear and healthy

Than the cutting edge man . I thought it would be cool to have like 5 mandarins.1 male green , 2 female green , 2 female spotted . Couple of blue stripped pipe fish ,maybe a couple Janis pipes , A dozen sexy shrimp & zoas . Of course to get them to eat pellets would be cool . Trained to eat pellets . Nice Dream ! . But , the cube non photo . Add planton. Transfer some of that water to a sump built for copepods . ......Add planton to non photo , wait . put tank in feed mode . Add planton from non photo to sump . Wait . Skim just sump ,using tunze skimmer that behaves . Take out of feed mode . There by using sump as copepod hatchery & sexy shrimp breeding tank .silly maybe . Put you could put planton in non photo & transfer to copepod hatchery no problem . Or tank to breed some kind of Frye if you want to breed fish or something . Maybe even have some kind of algae in sump . I Think I need a life

Multistage filtering. Can't this water then be polished after nutrients removed by softies into a carbon filter.

What about trying to figure out how to evaporate all the water out and recover the salt, then purify the salt and reuse it.

Why would cleaning the salt in dried form be easier? Boiling off the water would easy. Cleaning the dried salt seems far more difficult than cleaning the saltwater.
