This was definitely a special song for Alan and his wife. They were going through a rough patch in their marriage, but I this song helped bond them even more. Love this song
Alan is such a great songwriter and performer so I love a lot of what he does but what’s so special about this song to me is how it doesn’t candy coat the struggles people often go through. No one said marriage and raising kids is easy but man is it worth it! The song mentions how the start was hard and how life threw them some curves which happens. Also, how they’ll break each other’s hearts and hopefully bend but not break the marriage. How having kids can teach valuable lessons to the parents who have to let go of so much of themselves and put the kids first which often brings the parents closer even though the job of raising kids is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things they’ll ever do. It also talks about how our perceptions and values change as life moves on and how ultimately we’d do it all again, the struggles, the hurt, the broken trust, the rebuilt trust, the joy, and the love. It’s a masterpiece and had I not been married for 17 years with two kids this song wouldn’t have the same impact on me as it does now.
I am a diehard Alan Jackson fan . Have seen him 19x's and counting. He does have a duet with King George Strait "Death in Music Row" For a good laugh , check out "Don't even know your name" . My husband said this was his sing for me , cause he fell in love before he ever knew my name lol. True story I swear
I played this song to my old bosses (married husband and wife) because it reminded me of their life. They fell for each other young, separated and spent a few years apart, then came back together and fell in love and married. Their son helped make them stronger. So as I play this song for them, they start dancing just like Alan Jackson and his wife. They’re quietly talking to each other and smiling and it just brought tears to my eyes. Think of that moment every time I hear this song! Saw Alan perform in Atlanta (his native state of Georgia) and it was great.
This song always makes me cry. My husband and I celebrated 25 years in July. We raised 3 awesome kids and definitely went through many trials along the way. This song makes me think back on our life together. Thanks for reacting to this one.
Made a video of our life together and gave it to my highschool sweetheart after 30 years of marriage, 34 years together. Awesome to see somebody else appreciate love.
The lady in the video is his wife. Read his backstory about his marriage. He lost his son-in-law unexpectedly. There’s a new song about his daughters wedding, it’s beautiful.
Daddy let me drive..Play whenever want remember my Dad been gone 10 yrs..he had no boys but taught me to drive fix cars shoot fight and fish...miss him so much
Ooooh I love this such a beautiful stunning voice your wedding will be amazing im sure you will have some amazing artists ..thanku so much love and god bless x
Love is hard work. There are going to be hard times. But if you work through it, make the effort, then a lifetime of happiness is what you end up with. People have forgotten this. Nothing worth having in life is ever easy. But if you both work for it, you have something very few people these days have. A relationship that stands the test of time.
My husband is military and we got married in my moms backyard around his training schedule. If we ever get our dream wedding we will dance to Alan Jackson’s Look At Me. Add it to your wedding playlist!
This is my song!! My husband played this to me and said honey, this one is for you!! And he never had done that! We are high school sweethearts ! Married since 1990 ❤️Tennessee
@@scottyray8004 I think I can beat you Iwas born and raised in Mississippi ... went to new site high school and 50 graduated in my class!! Haha small back woods country school hahaha
Thank you so much for sticking with Alan Jackson after your videos got blocked. He is amazing! “Drive”, Small Town Southern Man”, “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow”, “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turnin’ (that Sept.day)” “Livin’ on Love”
Monday Morning Church is a good one. She's got the rhythm and I got the blues. Midnight in Montgomery talking about Hank Sr., Tall tall trees is sweet one.
The woman he was dancing with is his wife. They had a rough patch and pulled it together. High School sweethearts. He had to sell his car he loved at one point to pay the bills. Years later she tracked that exact car down, bought, refurbished it. You may see it in a video or two an older white car. Can't remember what it was. This song is a Parent's song. Slow enough Dads will get up and dance.
This was one of the songs I used as background music for a slideshow I made for my dads 55th birthday. Had photos of him and my mom, his childhood, family moments, etc. Such a great song
You should really check out Alan Jackson's Where were you when the world stopped turning... He wrote it after 9/11. Have fun on your Alan Jackson trip 😁
If you want another "Week Of..." topic suggestion: Humorous Song Titles... "If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?"--Bellamy Brothers "It's Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night That Chew Your A$$ Out All Day Long" Notorious Cherry Bombs "Kiss This"--Aaron Tippin "Thank God and Greyhound that You're Gone"--Roy Clark "May the Bird of Paradise Fly up Your Nose"--Little Jimmy Dickens "I Pray for You" (more of an ironic song)--Jaron Lowenstein "Better Things to Do"--Terri Clark
Beautifully written and sung for his wife ❤️
Midnight in Montgomery! Great Song!
This is my absolute favorite song by Alan Jackson

Just wait till you hear “Murder on music row” with Alan Jackson and George Strait!
I don’t think he’d understand that unless he really liked country and knew what happened to it over the years
@@mattdefrain3815 I see where you’re coming from but I respectfully disagree. It might open up his eyes as to what’s been going on in the genre.
i like their song, Designated Drinker just a little better

Where were you when the World Stopped Turning is a great song by Alan Jackson
Alan Jackson-like red on a rose, is another good one. Definitely another wedding song
And "I'll Go on Loving You."
Though that might be baby making music with how sensual it sounds, especially with the lyrics. 😆
The Blues Man by Alan Jackson!

“Drive”, Small Town Southern Man”, “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow”, “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turnin’ (that Sept.day)” “Livin’ on Love”

That mandolin is doin it though!
I got married to my bestfriend June of 2017 and this was my walking down the isle song
She cried because it meant so much to her...and giving up her innocence.

Wedding playlist is not complete without Tracy Byrd's "Keeper of the Stars"

Woman cry because of the happiness we fill .
I would really like to see you react to Alan Jackson, Where were you when the world stopped turning.
You should do some Aaron Tippen
(Little Bitty) or (Good Time) are great.
This is more an anniversary song or vow renewal song than a first wedding song.
This and "The Dance" are the best two country songs ever written
My wife and I made a Wedding CD and gave one to everyone who came. We're told it's just about everyone's favorite CD, almost 18 years later.
This was one of the songs I used as background music for a slideshow I made for my dads 55th birthday. Had photos of him and my mom, his childhood, family moments, etc. Such a great song
