A Troubadour is a medieval term for someone who makes their living by traveling around and singing songs or reciting poetry. And yes, George Strait is a real deal rodeo man. Two of his best known songs, Amarillo by Morning and I Can Still Make Cheyenne, have to do with the struggles and sacrifices made for that 8 second high. That’s his daughter at 3:43, playing the piano with him. She died in a car wreck not long after that. He’s been married to the same woman forever, even as thousands of women threw themselves at him thru the years. There’s a reason he’s known as King George, and he’s influenced everyone from Garth to Jamie Foxx. Incredible talent, a great rabbit hole to dive into.
George Strait's daughter passed away in 1986.
He's King George. There's a reason why Garth Brooks, the GOAT, says that he's always wanted to BE George Strait. 🤣😂🤣
First of all , a Troubadour is a type of Poet / Folk Singer - and secondly , Yes , George Straight does Rodeo - Great reaction - Thank You , my brother ! ! !
George's tour bus broke down in Dickinson TX back in 1998. He walks into the bar and did a few songs while he waited for his bus to be repaired. He is the king of Texas. Texas will close down the day we lose him 😔
Check out his song “Baby Blue“. It’s a true story about his daughter dying.
He claims its not.. but we all know it is. Its so sad. My uncle responded to that incident over off Hunter Road in San Marcos. Tragic stuff.
@@janthonyc95 True. It’s a sad situation overall.
I didn't know that! What happened?
@@bipolarbear9952 His 13 year old daughter was killed in a vehicle accident.
@@midnyteblues Oh God, that's awful!
You should checkout "The Chair" by "King George" the song is Fire
Yes he is a true cowboy in every sense of the word and a troubadour is a poet who writes verses to music.
this video was SO ENTERTAINING!! i loved it!! wait til’ you learn how to two-step and start hitting the country bars!
Troubadour is a vocalist and George Strait is a team roper. For real and a Veteran
Check out Jamie Fox performs live for George Strait - She looks so good in love". Its awesome.. And one of his best hits.
George Strait is one of the Country Greats! Great choice and reaction!
Jamie fox screwed up George’s songs
@@devinbarney8336 I thought he did a great job and had fun with it. Obviously he was just having fun and did his thing with it but it was cool he paid tribute to George Strait and I loved his performance.
@@devinbarney8336 👍
LinZy AZ you could visibly see George cringing as he sang
Over 33 years recording career he has 60 #1 hits and the thing I like the most about him is he didn’t let the fame go to his head. He’s exactly the same now as he was when he first started except a little older! PS he still married to the same woman to.
I’m from San Antonio Texas which is like 25 minutes from poteet where George strait is from and him being the king is all we’ve ever known. He sings songs about all the things we have gone through working, loving, and drinking lol and is on 75% of the people I know too list of who they want to meet.
My favorite song is “still make Cheyenne “
One of the reasons that George is considered the KING of Country Music is because he has 60 #1 hits....that's not a typo....60 #1 hits - that's more than any other artist EVER, of ANY music genre...MORE than Elvis, more than the Beatles...This dude is "IT" LEGIT!
You should review “Everything I See” by King George. It’s largely unknown, but one of my favorite of his songs. Also, another great country voice is Chris Ledoux. Check him out.
He is STILL my man. My God. I love him so much. He made me bawl when he gave me a rose at a concert and I still have it framed on my wall. It was my 1st concert. He's timeless. No one can replace him.
Troubadour ~
traveling musician
poet who writes music (lyricism)
In this video you see George is at the piano with his daughter….she was 13 and died in a car accident…it’s pretty special to have him let us into his past. He’s the best God bless you.
