Tank is always been my favorite. Of all the watches in my collection, its my favorite. If I had to have just 1 watch for ever, it would be that. Thank you for including it!
I'd go with the GS SBGA413 ($6,600) as my everyday watch, black dial on bracelet Zulu Time 39mm ($3,150) as my travel/more rugged watch, then Tank Must SolarBeat ($3,300) as my dress watch (anOrdain Model 1 as runner-up)
I have the special edition of the 9F85 quartz movement (Sea of Clouds). The quartz watches with a star at 6 o’clock are rated +/- 5 seconds per year and my example is still exact on atomic time nearly a year later. Incredible stuff.
If I had that much money to spend on a two watch collection it would be on an Omega Aqua Terra (blue teck dial in 38mm) - and a Tudor BB54 or the new Longines Legend Diver 39mm in black.
Same as mine. I have the 38mm AT saffron, 36mm legend diver blue fume and BB 58 gilt. I bought the Legend 36 before the 39 came out but I still prefer it over the 39mm so no regrets. I also bought the BB 58 before the 37 mm BB 54 came out and I prefer the 54 after seeing it in person. I will add a 38mm Zulu time in blue next few weeks.
I started my watch journey this year and bought 4 watches (and one Timex was given as a gift), and my watches equal around $13k; I lean towards dressy watches and went with Timex Waterbury GMT, Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Blue Dial, Longines Master Collection Moonphase, Santos de Cartier medium steel, and Longines Legend Diver in Bordeaux! 😊 Absolutely love all my watches and I feel ready for all occasions!
For that budget or thereabouts, I would go for the Grand Seiko SBGE257 Spring Drive GMT watch, Longines Ultra Chron dive watch, and the Nomos Orion Neomatik dress watch. Just above at US$13,400 (using list prices) but I get 3 in-house (okay, in-group for Longines) movements: a Spring Drive movement, a 36000 high-beat chroonmeter movement, and a slim movement. Bonus: They are from 3 different countries - Japan, Switzerland, and Germany reapectively.
If I get some discounts from ADs My picks would be 😊 : Omega Seamaster Diver 300 black, Omega Aquaterra shades Bay green, Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39mm Sunburst Blue or Nomos Tangente 35mm
A little over budget, but I like this 3-watch combo: Omega Seamaster Diver 300M in white or black; Grand Seiko SBGM221 GMT, and either Longinges Record or Conquest Chronograph in black or white (opposite of the Seamaster color). Fun video and congrats on the GS dealership!
Great to see Fortis mentioned. They’re massively underrated despite being one of the few remaining independent Swiss marques with a strong legacy, and they’ve done a terrific job updating their lineup. The new Flieger is a great watch too.
For that amount of mony I would be build 3 watch collection. My 1st pick would be TAG Heuer Aquaracer Automatic Blue Dial with GMT function, 2nd one would be Omega Speedmaster Chronograph Automatic Black Dial, and last but not least Longines Heritage Conquest White dial. All 3 watches dedicted on Amazon price cost a bit more then 10 000 US Dolars.
Excellent video Teddy and team! Purchased eight watches with the professional assistance of Jon and Will. Please continue to educate us in 2024. Take care and Happy New Year!
No wonder this channel is headed to one million followers and that TB's company is a success. What a fun way to discover some new brands to consider. Well done.....again.
Hi Teddy. Really love your content and the watches you show. Can you please make a dedicated video on the Fortis Novonaut? I cant believe there is no one really talking about this release. I was lucky to get the first edition and I really love this release. Its a really amazing watch and I think fortis is way underrated. The Flieger Chrono in Petrol color is beautiful.
For the 80-20, I think it makes more sense for the 80% to be the versatile watch, like a black bay 58. Then that open up about $8500 for you to have a specialty watch to wear 20% of the time. Obviously there are so many options with an $8500 budget
If you have the wrist for it the Rolex SD43 is an outstanding daily watch. I'd suggest a G-Shock square for high impact activieties, yard work, mechanices, etc.
No tto mention that with Nomos you get a complimentary engraving on some of their watches which at the pricepoint is impressive and adds to personalization and truly makes a watch yours and not just a factory output which in the age Apple Watches is a nice and refreshing thing to see
The Large Cartier Tank Louis that you featured has a quartz movement. The reason I know this is that I want that exact case, dial, strap combo with a manual wind movement which they have not released yet. Hoping they make this soon.
I'd keep my 3 favorites: Oris BCPD & divers 65 (bought used) and my Smiths Everest honeycomb. I'd add to that a 36mm datejust with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet.
I don't have any expensive watches but I watch these youtube videos all the time... I'm pretty sure 99% of the enjoyment in this hobby is just window shopping and day dreaming about them...
Great video. My collection is based on five fundamental watch types which I believe is the base of a well balanced collection: Diver Chronograph Field Dress Vintage You just build from there
Depends how large of a collection you’re looking to have with the $13,000 ceiling. Would be hard to fit an Omega or Rolex as a single watch would net you a collection of a single watch lol. For me personally, I’d probably have some Hamilton, Longines, Raymond Weil, and maybe sneak in a Tudor or Panerai.
Three Watch Collection for the „I love GMTs“-persona (me (if I’d had 13k to spend on watches)): - Every Day GMT: Grand Seiko SBFE 271 (Kanro) - Sporty/Diver GMT: Longines Hydroconquest GMT - Dress GMT: Nomos Tangomat GMT
I know a few salty sailors and divers that have had a Rolex Submariner as long as I've known them, some since 1990s. Tudor Black Bays and Pelagos are more prominent among some of the younger divers I know along with the rare Doxa which I wild think I would see a lot more of. Do they still need them in these days, yes some of them participate in free diving and the basic timing from the dial is a great function still and these divers do mostly wear their watches. With also being strap monsters, I've seen some really interesting straps amongst these divers. They really use their watches.
That Tudor from persona 6 is really beautiful!! 😍. I’m the persona 5 dreaming about exchange my Seiko for a Dress German Minimalist one + my Santos Dumont from Cartier ❤❤❤💸💸💸.
The one watch options seemed to just be any watch that cost around 13k. None of them are actually watches that anyone would really choose as their only watch. Except for the Sea Dweller for someone who has larger wrists.

Think that I would start off with the Vulcain cricket with its alarm to wake me up in the morning, into the ocean swim with a NOMOS Ahoi, out for a meal with a Mido 1959 commander. Think that would round of my day wonderfully 😊👍.
I have that Mido. Also have a Nomos. Not an Ahoi, but eyeing one of those, too. I was surprised by your lineup. Mido, especially that one, doesn't get mentioned often.

Such a great breakdown for a relatively new collector at right around this price range. (Three-bie here.)
Thank you TEDDY. I always discover new beautiful watches . But to day, i am in the mood for one watch collection : One CARTIER Tank .

I love these new "non-clique" personas! Where they used to be hipster, outdoorsy, etc these are actual true-to-form collector types.
Honestly Teddy is just getting better and better, unlike most on here
I have the Rolex Sea-Dweller Red 50th Anniversary. Thanks for reviewing it. I do feel lucky to have it. Happy New Year.
Add Frederique Constant World -Timer Watch and A FC Highlife series Watch to the list . They Would add More Beauty to the Collection.
Excellent as always 🍻
I’d split it between two:
1. Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Classic Monoface
2. Tudor Black Bay GMT two tone
I’m wearing the SD43 126600 right now, it’s a fantastic watch. But I also have over 50 other watches. I think I might have a problem. 😮
I love my HydroConquest. Such an understated piece and I get constant compliments on it.
Which color? I like the brown dial a lot, although green is my favorite color. Cool watch and congrats!
Everyday/GMT: Longines Zulu Time

Yellow gold tank with white dial is a quarz version. At least on their website.

the last tudor in the segment - looks rather nice. a small cyclops over the date for older folks as an option would have been nice.

That's right! I was so surprised that Teddy and the team got this one wrong.
Hoping they also add a guilloche dial. Large Tank, manual wind, guilloche dial would be my grail tank
My collection so far , Longines Legend Diver , Cartier Tank XL, Oris Propilot
Yes, I'll have that new Sea-Dweller then please Teddy!
