I'm learning to do finger waves in cosmetology school and was wondering if they can be done on natural hair. I know this vid is old, but if you ever try again, maybe try it with foam /mousse on wetter hair.

I think people used foam wrap because it makes the hair easier to mold. Maybe next time give that a try.

I'm going natural now. I'm just going to take it one day at a time and grow it out for over a year hoping for a better way of life with my hair. This video helps me out a lot because my hair is very short and in a pixie cut but I'm growing it out and I wear it wet using curly mousse and eco styler. 😊☺. You did a amazing job!!. New subie btw

Next time stick to the ego styler while it’s really damp and use a lot i have a slightly longer twa a little looser curl than you but that what work for me and it lays for days thanks for sharing you look beautiful

To make it easier, maybe you could try a thicker consistency gel like the Style Factor edge booster or a lot of mousse

I learned from a hairdresser that a lot of the natural girls with finger waves use a texturizer. They keep it in for a very short time before they start losing the curl pattern then wash it out. But yours look amazing 😍
I figured it had to be something because fingerwaves are not curly hair friendly
No, not all, if I want waves, I saturate my hair line by line with Vaseline and Eco style gel.

Do you think you should of clip the parts up first then go into the sides with a moose or setting lotion then do the waves and then hold it down with the wrapping sheets they have (for when you do finger waves) then blow dry it dry then you have the look and it will also look def too !!!

Trying to finger wave curly hair is impossible! I have curly hair too, I used foam and gel with no success. Blow dry your hair first to knock out your curl pattern then style your middle as usual. Good luck🙂

Curly hair will not finger wave if you do not follow the wave pattern only the edges will lay down
The better way to do that is foam..her entire head was waved and then curls separated

Abbyy try to do it with your hair wet and use a lotttt of mousse and eco styler gel. Or use got2b glue but wait until it gets a little tacky to start molding
