Anyone betching about wearing sneakers in the river doesn't know how to play in the river. In th 90's I was an avid trout fisherman and had designated river shoes. @LAGear Asphalt Gear that were on their 3rd life. I wore them for dress sneakers for 5 years, work sneakers a couple years, and finally as river shoes for a couple if years. Best shoes I've ever had. 😊

Love this guy! Been a fan since he first started posting prospecting videos with his students. Tranquille is in my back yard, it has been our local secret gold mine for decades, our little piece of paradise with peace and quiet, seclusion and even consistent shiny in our pans. Then Dan told the world. Over the years, the seclusion has pretty much disapeared, replaced by people camping out in the parking lot and digging and littering everywhere, usually after the release of a new video. Thankfully in Dan's recent videos he tells people about creek etiquette. I know, I know, the creek is in a Provincial Park and open to everyone. I'm grumpy and old lol. I don't even go out more than a couple of time per year if that anymore, but over the last 30 or so years I've fallen in love with that place and want visitors to treat it with respect. Enjoy it, don't spoil it.

How can people destroy such an amazing spot. People suck sometimes and they will end up getting theirs.

    • @magicone9327
      @magicone9327 5 месяцев назад +1

With the lack of respect for the creek just think about why our world is so messed up. The increase in lack of respect is directly proportional to the time frame when mothers entered the work force and children were being raised by other means. The fact that children are having children is another reason that people grow up without respect for anything.

@@magicone9327The problem with RUclips is that you can’t control who watches these videos and gain the information that so many people worked so hard to learn. Something about learning the hard way, organically, that makes people respect things more. The people who watch these videos and know nothing, come and exploit these areas.

Not safe to cross to planned workings
You can't see more than an inch or two deep and i don't like walking where I can't see my feet
So maybe I should detour up to Kamloops 😊
I love your video's and I just keep on learning from you
I am running a little campground here and get a kick out of people who come to me asking how and where to pan
    Standard answer....
    Go on RUclips
    Find Dan Hurd prospecting
When you have watched at least 5 video's on panning
Try a few pans and then you can help teach me 😂
I know know you are always, learning new stuff as I am about finding gold and other goodies
    Thanks for being my teacher
Hoping to one find you on a nice sunny river
We're often only a few miles from one another but I don't know it till you've gone and posted and are somewhere else 😢

River shoes are all the summer rage in the Missouri Ozarks. I keep my old ones when I buy new for daily use and just cycle them for a second life, then throw out the "old river shoes". Most of our Ozark streams are sharp rocks and very little sand or dirt bottoms.

The Tranquille River is a beautiful spot. Historically one ounce nuggets were found in this river. I believe I know where you are. I think you’re down river just before the camp, which had little cabins when I was a kid back in the 80s. I use to get up there every summer, unfortunately my car isn’t well, and I can’t make the trip from Vancouver. You are right about the peridot! I think you know what that means, don’t you? Wink Wink nudge nudge. Apparently it’s considered an 18 carat creek, only two in BC! Tranquille has become so popular, since the gold shows on TV, back in the day, not a lot of people would go there.

@@Mag_AoidhI think it’s more of the fact that he’s advertising this area to millions of people and what used to be a peaceful area is now exploited by a bunch of gold-hungry people who don’t respect the area like the locals do. You can tell people to respect all you want, it’s not going to change a selfish person.
It’s like having a beautiful fishing spot near your house and some RUclipsr with a million plus followers makes a video about it and you can’t ever go to your spot anymore because it’s always flooded with people.
This doesn’t affect me much personally as I only go to tranquille once a year, but I have noticed it getting busier every year I go. Just a thought on the matter that most probably don’t consider. I’m sure the complainers aren’t very diplomatic about it either…

A guy got fined £3000 ($3900) for gold panning in a river in Wales in the UK - What a bunch of A+ Ah0les we have in the UK in chargre of our rivers. The guy wasn't doing any harm and even cleaned up and replaced his dig, It was filmed covertly by the welsh Gestapo, who hate to see anyone gaining from their precious rivers! (He got less than1 gramme out..!) You Canadians have got it made there, wish I had come there as a young man.
