ing society and social relations, processes, and realities thereof the social scientists made associations with mystical phenomena. The psycho-biological dimension of society certainly seems mystic, but I suppose magic is science not yet understood or something. There was interest in Perennialism and mysticism or occult among the early socialist movement which attempted the synthesis of religion and science such as Saint-Simon and Comte’s New Catholicism/Christianity and Religion of Humanity respectively. Saint-Simon and Fourier both really emphasized Newton and his foundational law of attraction. To them, this was implying that there could also be mysterious forces within society. The notion of society being bigger than the sum of its parts comes out of this conception of reality being full of complex and mysterious forces. Magic was a prevalent topic and issue in the early social science movement. A video going into that history would be cool! The influential esotericist Éliphas Lévi was a disciple of the socialist Charles Fourier!

15:45 I have to disagree, this should not be made into a Marvel movie, this should be made into a video game. You play as King Solomon through the whole Shamir saga which serves as the prelude/tutorial section that teaches you the basics of handling demons and establishes Asmodeus as the villain, then after being overthrown you have to re-gain your knowledge and powers that Asmodeus tricked you into losing as make your way back to Jerusalem to reclaim your throne by the end of the game.
Thank you so much, I have long awaited a scholarly video covering this exact topic and books. Many days and nights have gone by of me sitting being flabbergasted at the fact that there are numerous writings that claim Solomon could control demons but yet you never hear anyone talk about it. It's always been a topic of extreme interest to me because it's so surreal. Thank you so much for covering this, can't wait to finish the video. Just wanted to really thank you for this video and your time doing it. Love the channel, recently discovered you. Definitely have my subscription.
Huge fan. Just blown away always by your learned and humble thougts. Ive been wondering for a while now if you have ever read Phillip K Dick's The Divine Invasion. It is so in line with the topics you're talking about and was my fiest introduction to Jewish Mysticism and Kabalic lore for lack of a better word. There is unfortunately very little I have found written about the book and i feel like you are just the person to do a deep dive exploration. Really hope you read this and respond. One more thing. After reading the divine invasion I started going back to temple and was constantly badgering my rabbi to read it and or teach me about the things I learned in the book. After a week he came back to me and said "yoseph the things you are looking for dont need you to discover them, please learn to crawl before you try to run". I had goosebumps. Unfortunately i never had the discipline to crawl. But i have a lot of love for the information regardless.
Such an awesome episode! I d like to see a more thorny issue dealt with, the thesis that there is a missing figure in the Solomonic chain of transmission, namely The Sage Solomon, a ByzantineJew who would have had his deeds mythologised in the Clavicula, Honorius and De Quattuor Annulis.
I've heard this thesis but haven't seen much written on it. You got any sources? I've been wanting to do a speculation episode where I try to create a kind of stemma for this tradition....with lots of speculation.
Kohelet has long been my favorite book in the BIble as well. Rivaled only by the NT book of "Hebrews." Wisdom of Solomon is another favorite, and I love how that passage encapsulates so many esoteric and metaphysical sciences within them.

It's like watching Dr. Sledge's audition video before he worked out how to turn up the intensity and draw viewers in. It was still engaging and well made but this post shows how his years of experience have improved his presentation. Keep up the great work Dr. Sledge! Thank you.
I just realized how long I’ve been watching you when you mentioned the other LKOS episode you did. You’ve made this south Louisiana college dropout become intensely interested in these crazy Kabbalah and Daimon stories. Have you ever considered offering an offline, in example DVD-based collection of all your videos? I am aware that we are living in the age of streaming, but it would definately make a nice addition to a collection of books in a shelf. And in case "the Internet is down" one day, maybe due to some misguided Solomonic magic, we could still enjoy all this high quality knowledge. I'd surely be the first to purchase such a collection and I am convinced there would be others as well.
Excellent episode! I didn't realize that this particular branch had so much to unpack. I absolutely appreciate the fact you're pointing toward the true Scholarship of these disparate & traditionally highly esoteric subjects. Just this morning I thought I have to watch your old Lesser Key video again but I got something fresh instead. Looking forward to the ring and seal episode.
Loved this! King Solomon has been appearing as a character in my favorite game, MetaZoo. They've even made a card of his ring and the seals and sigils play a part in the story.
The two theories of evil is very interesting in that one is the Jewish mythology via Book of Watchers and Enoch with Azazael which has profound Prometheus similarities while the other is Christian canon (although the Nephilm is mentioned in the Catholic NRSV).
The basis of the Conjuring film series. Lesser Key is a fascinating book of the occult. The concept of knowledge of names giving power over these spirits, as Adam and Eve named their corporal manifestations. Solomon using the arcane to make demons build his Temple would make for a pretty metal movie
Woot! I wonder if the scans you show that have those line imperfections from the scaning process were from my PDFs of the microfilm I got from the British Museum I scanned ages ago. I hope that's the case since I like to think the scans of those MSS I released came to such good use!!! Thanks for all you do.
I first discovered TLKOS in my late teens, I found it a terrifying concept, especially as a neophite, I left it there thank goodness. I'd say it is still interesting to read but probably not advisable to use these techniques in magical practice IMO, even if you think you know what you are at! Great video, as usual, thanks!

Could you please do an episode on the Germanic " Faustian" magical tradition?
Such a delightful treat for us today. Thank you for presenting.
I remember the first video, doctor sledge..I’ve tried to stay up on everything you’ve produced here because I find you an incredible teacher and great fun to speak with. (Utilization of the nostrils remind me of the breath… as well as ida and pingala.) I enjoy them all immensely… ❤
Just came here from the Genetically Modified Skeptic interview video, and I had seen the YHVH origins video before, but then I came across THIS one and the first 15 minutes had me grinning wider and wider with each video-game-complicated-fetch-quest-style detail... Then I just lost my composure completely at the line "it's a... It's a hoot." You have SUCH a gift for British-style low-key sarcasm and I am absolutely hooked! If you'd taught Philosophy classes in my college, you would have been my favorite teacher!
You had me when you said "demons". LOL . Thank you for making this wonderful video. I always love your content and need to back track on the last few months of what I missed. Hope you are doing well and dark blessings
I absolutely love your channel. I only recently found it but it's been an immense help to my creative writing and world building. Thanks for all the effort and work you put into this channel!
God i love this channel. I just discovered it. So much information. Just wonderfull.
My great scholar, could you do a video about The Ethiopian Magical Scrolls?
I've got my hardcopy of Rankine's Encyclopedia. But for those who didn't get a hardback, Hadean will be doing another print run of it, so keep your eye open for it in the coming months.
Very powerful and really respectful way you approached this subject. Thank you
Always so thankful for your videos and the knowledge you share every single time. When I get my next paycheck I’m going to add a few of your merch products to my closet asap.
I've been waiting for you to make this video since i discovered you
(being a slow but steady-the tortured artist's path, if you will lol-Climber of the "Tree" aka Qabalah/Kabbalah.)
I picked a great time to tune back in👍🙏
😅😅
I just watched the original post of this video, posted 3 years earlier than this one. Seeing these two videos back to back is incredibly interesting. It's like watching Dr. Sledge's audition video before he worked out how to turn up the intensity and draw viewers in. It was still engaging and well made but this post shows how his years of experience have improved his presentation. Keep up the great work Dr. Sledge! Thank you.
Your. knowledge and your take on these subjects is always extremely refreshing. Thank you for your hard work!
I just realized how long I’ve been watching you when you mentioned the other LKOS episode you did. You’ve made this south Louisiana college dropout become intensely interested in these crazy Kabbalah and Daimon stories. It gives me so much more of an understanding as to how we got from A to Z with abrahamic religions
Free university courses in religion and philosophy! Can't beat this channel.
Immediately put a like. Been waiting for this one from when I saw your post today in the morning.
I have a tendency to agree that Demonology and Magick as a whole has insinuated itself pretty deep into pop culture the last couple of decades.
I remember noticing back in the day the use of Hexagrams and other various sigillia in RPG's of the 16 and 32-bit eras. Hopping over to check out Angela's vid! You're both some of my favorite content creators on the Platform.
P.S. I would be down to write and direct that After school Special! Stellar idea!
I lived down in New Orleans and yeah nothing scares me anymore. (Evacuated Katrina and ended up in New York State. Discovered that the lovely state has a lot of mystery, hauntings, portals and sleepy hollow. And Amityville house.) 😂❤
Glad I found your channel, educational on a scholarly level keeps things objective.
The state of Pa. Is the same
@@Cat-ik1woThe entirety of the world is haunted, really. Just some places are much more intense. Depending upon the land, history and so on. Sometimes all it takes is a push or action or emotional energy for a revenant's foothold to be gained

Dear Dr. S, it was due to your channel that I discovered Dr. P's channel. I believe the source was a livestream from a couple of years ago. She's smart AF, cool and a total badass! Thanks to you, I am one of her subscribers. Here's to many more collaborations! Also, apparently, this October has a Friday the 13th, solar eclipse, and full blood moon lunar eclipse on Halloween weekend. (This from a friend's FB post. I know the 13th is a Friday. It's when Twin Temple drop their long- long- long- LONG-awaited second LP, and when Netflix launches the limited series "The Fall of the House of Usher".)
Looking forward myself to the fall of the house of usher!
Great cast, interesting idea to incorporate elements from some of Poe's other tales, and I dig Mike Flanagan's style!@@TheEsotericaChannel
Love the long videos!! 50 minutes is great!
As always, I look forward to these episodes and your humour. Question: Did music play a part in Esotericism? I know Hildegard von Bingen wrote hymns, but were there other hymns or music attached to magic? (and I'm pretty sure heavy metal wasn't involved - sorry...)
Interesting question! Archeology shows people with musical instruments in most ceremonies.
Love the channel I’m now subscribed
1 Question my good sir are there other keys of Solomon or other books like this I should read/study?
Keep it up💯
Here kind of hoping someone else is watching delta green, and being spooked by this coinicidence. Awesome video dude, thank you so much!
So, capturing monsters, learning everything there is to know about them, and using them at your command to fulfill your bidding...
...Sol-O-Mon!
"Gotta Catch 'em All!'
You sealed the deal when you brought the AR500 comparison. Not only are you well versed in the knowledge my inner wizard appreciates, but you have catered to the humor my dysfunctional veteran mind knows too well.
2 minutes in and I am looking down here for the comments section - to see what others are saying about the sheer delivery here. lol Totally killing it these days, Dr Justin. You are now the king of the occult and esoterica and fundamentally, well (turns eyes to the upper left or right) just ('just' hahahaha) philosophy.
Yesssssss!!! I just love hearing you dive in deep my man no homo much love Dr.sledge.
Around here we are pro-homo and thanks !
hope to see you hit 1 mill.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Brooo, Solomon vs Asmodius, feat. Magneto sounds like it would go SO HARD
Who do you think he would align with? Or would it be a 3 way battle?
Subscribed. Humour, on a non derogatory level, is important emotionally. You seem to show that in spades.
“You could put Magneto in there, I would like that” 100% would watch that movie just saying!
Totally possible. My microfilm of the John Dee MSS also had those defects.
Very nice interview about Anger. Will look into him in more depth now. Thanks to you and Ms. Noble.
That calligraphy is just GORGEOUS! Wow!
We are incredibly on the same page and the same journey. I began watching your videos recently. These arcane topics are things I have researched for years myself. I've learned a lot from your videos.
I'm not on any journey.
*Man pulls chained demon from under bed*
“Where did you get this?! Who taught you how to do this?! Answer me!”
“You, alright?! I learned it by watching you!”
Parents who chain demons have kids who chain demons.
This announcement brought to you by,
- Friends of The Parthenon,
- the ballista crew of Tower 27 of the Great Wall if China,
- the Number Three
"Just say No to demons kids"
Reminds me of the main character Nathanial of the Bartimus Trilogy- an apprentice that decides to summon a higher ranking demon than he is told to
💡 I feel like we need someone like Robert Eggers to create an entire "Marvel-like" universe of films around all these topics. So much enigmatically beautiful material to interpret.
Make it so!
Do a confined 3 film story. Don't need constant cinematic universes.
Fantastic. 💯 Some of the best content on RUclips.
I was searching this yesterday, perfect timing
Solomon was featured as the primary Antagonist in Fate, with the appropriate title of King of Mages. His body turns into Georgia, a Beast of Humanity. They did that pretty well not gonna lie
I will give the Fate series one thing, they definitely do thier homework on most of their characters.
i remember when your first version of this video came out. i loved it then, and im sure ill love this remake.
I extend my humble gratitute for this amazing wisdom and acknowledge their purpose and existance. As I journey life I understand such wisdom and take reverence over its purpose and nature. I also notice how excited you are as you shown so much other future potential for such content and its development to be explored creatively into movies or something hoping to see. 😊 Its relaxing to hear your perspectives in examples and possibilities. I found something interesting to look foward to perhaps is meant for me to take note or discover ethics more. Peace be with you 🙏
So informative. Thank you love this video. Highly intelligent
Always Interesting and worth watching!.
One of my favorite texts.
I enjoy the Doctor's Historical and entertaining presentations and excellent references and inspiration to go to the Archives and do your own research!
Yes, do at least one, entirely En Latin of course with some translations.
And Alchemy is my favorite.
@1:25 This is why Psalms 91:7 is written as such, "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."
Interesting
I found this looking for “witch facts” for my research journey for my book. This is exactly what I needed to find. Thank you so much.
Grateful for you, Dr. Sledge.
I've been waiting for this
It must have been fun to be a member of those nineteenth century Magick organisations. Be it Freemasons or Golden Dawn, they all feel like D&D in overdrive. With a lot of dressing up, performance art, studying esoteric tombes, , etc. The perfect hobby for eccentric upper-class British (sometimes not so gentle) men.
Love the sense of humor! ❤
THIS video is THE video I was wanting to REVISIT (and complete) from your intro that stayed with me awhile even duringthe dark distracted not long ago! I searched the Qlippoths episodes (themselves epic!) and almost thought I was having a "never seen" jamais vu moment. Again. Thank you, Dr Justin Sledge, for revivifying this landmark episode of Esoterica! Good call!! 📖 📚 🌌 🔑 🗝 🎉 😈 Oh, it's updated! Thought it came alive and live on its own!
Another phenomenal episdoe, thank you so much! Now to Dr Puca's!
Shalom my brothers and sisters across the world. I love God and love learning about Him.
I am from Trinidad and Tobago, The Caribbean. And I love to listen to The Jewish perspective on things. I am Roman Catholic, living on a Caribbean Island, named after the Blessed Trinity, I source from Muslim, Hindu, Rastafarianism, Khemet and African sources as well, and believe the part in Revelation about the two witnessess uniting.
We believe in one God, the God of Isach and Jacob, and is time we all, especially us that derived from the early Abrahamic Faith, Jews, Muslims and Christians, the monastatic religions, the three prongs of Khemet, will unite in love and act in a way in accordance of the God we serve and recognize his way of love, through Christ. Peace and love.
