nice video sir. however i do not have option of creating dummy variable in my spss software. i have IBM SPSS 21 vesion. please suggest what i cn do now.
thank you for the explanation. i have a question. i am still confused about the step to do this. first we check the r square when the interaction excluded, then we added the interaction and run the outer model analysis, and last we run the inner model including r square and path coefficient? is it correct?
Pleasure. I am glad you liked it. Yes, correct, first with the interaction excluded and then interaction included to assess the impact of interaction term.
Thanks for the helpful video. My question is you created a dummy variable in type_1, and Type_2 but used the original var TypeofBank in the model as IV? where used type_1, and Type_2 in model ?
Thanks for watching. Since type of Bank is a dichotomous variable, actually we do not need to create dummies. I created it just to explain as an example how to create dummies. Since, it had only two categories, it does not affect the results if we use the original variable as explained later in the video when analyzing the data in SmartPLS.
Thank you so much for the video, sir. It really helps, but I have a question. If I have 5 categories for the moderating variable and I have created the dummy, how do I input it in my model on smartpls? Because I see that in your case, you have 2 type of banks and only input 1 indicator on the model (i.e. Type_1) for the Type of bank variable and it is logical because the dummy only have 0 and 1, but I'm a bit confused if I have more than one categories. Hope you don't mind answering
I am glad you liked it. You will add each category as a separate moderator except for one that will serve as a reference category. So, in your case, you will add 4 categories on the canvas.
Hello, sir. I think this Excel should enter the unstandardized coefficients, but the PLS provides standardized values, do we need to transfer the values to unstandardized coefficients, then enter the 2-way interaction excel?

Thank you for the video sir. I have a question. My moderator variable is age and i divided it into 3 categories (Gen Z, Millenials and Gen X). Do i must analyze it as a categorical variable or not? Thank you.
Thanks. I am glad you liked it. Analyze categorical variable, do you mean assess the direct impact of Age. If it is part of your hypothesis, you should.
No. If a variable is categorical with two categories, you will create dummy and include one in the model, the other one serves as a reference. Now if there are three, you will include two dummies, the other one will serve as reference
@@researchwithfawad Thank you very much for clarifying this. I have a question, how could I determine if there is a significant moderating effect in the case of the reference group? That is, what indicators of the dummy variables included in the model tell me that the reference group (not included) moderates significantly (or not)?

Thank you Dr khuwaja for this vedio . Kindly can you please make a mediation & moderation vedio of multilevel using mplus . When data is from groups and there are leader and team members. Please if you start from two levels so a beginner can understand well . Regards
Thanks for the valuable video sir. May I know how to model when we have 3 types in our categorical variable ( seniority : junior, mid, senior) without using spss??
It is not making sense why you have used insignificant path coefficient of bank type (Moderator) while drawing moderation plot. How an insignificant variable can be used to predict other variable? I think it lacks statistical justification.

During installation you didn't install python essentials. Please install it and it will be visible
@@researchwithfawad okay. Thank you sir.
Can someone please point me to journal articles where procedure is used....
You may type the following in Google Scholar
allintext:"Categorical Moderator" OR "Categorical Moderation"

Not required. You can use the Standardized values to generate graphs

Resp Sir
Kindly state whether I am right-
I will include both dummy variables (type 1 & type 2 ) as my indicator of my "type of bank" construct
No. If a variable is categorical with two categories, you will create dummy and include one in the model, the other one serves as a reference. Now if there are three, you will include two dummies, the other one will serve as reference

Dear Mr. Farrukh
The effect of Moderator on the DV is insignificant. However, the moderating/ interaction effect is significant as shown in the plots.
