Growing fruit trees is one of the best permaculture decisions you can make! The property I grew up on had extremely old, tall stonefruit trees in the back yard and we literally didn't have to do a thing to them. No pruning, fertilizing, watering, etc. They'd just put out pounds and pounds of fruit every summer

I once lived on a 3 acre rental property, many years ago. The landlord had about 1/2 acre in peach trees, 1/4 acre in Asian pears, about 12-15 mature pecan trees, with wild mustang grapes & wild blackberries everywhere. The peach orchard was nearing the end of its life cycle when we moved in & within 5 years, all the peach trees had died. The pecans & Asian pears were in robust good health & producing abundantly. The Asian pears were about the size & shape of a softball. They were firm, sweet & nearly dry, versus very juicy. I asked the landlord for the variety name but he didn’t know because his dad had planted the various orchards decades ago. The pecans were divided evenly between native pecans & domesticated pecans. The native pecans had much smaller but a lot sweeter nuts. I really enjoyed living on that property.

I'll have to check out his channel some. Every year I'm able to get a little bit more out of my garden. Bit one thing I struggle with is doing full meals. I do some. But I would like to do more of this.
When I first started I was more about preservation. But as I've gardened more.. food preservation is a lot of work. The couple of full meals I make... its not as labor intensive. And it uses some more stuff. Like I always over produce peppers for preservation. But using some in a meal.. just more I can use out of the garden

I set up drip irrigation and raised garden beds. I have T posts and chicken wire all around the property and makeshifted children bed frames as doors. I use wood chips from some trees we cut down. I’ve watched both videos from both channels and I enjoyed them for what they were. Two bros wandering around their spaces and sharing the journey. Touring Mikes property was very nice. Liked the half moon steps he has is regal. Nice wide open spaces and the start of a budding orchard would have like to see more reactions from epic on the food plates he was served though. Just surface reactions would have been good. Especially the pickled watermelon rinds but hey I get it we already spent half an hour with you so it wasn’t necessary. Thanks to both of you and hope we keep seeing more collaborations in the future.

Hello Guys, need some advice on cherry tomatoes... i have 3 cherry tomato plants which are roughly 7-8 months old now, they are around 7 feet tall and flowering consistently. However the flowers are not going to fruit, it just flowers and dries off. The leaves are looking healthy, green and lush, the plants receive full sun throughout the day. The soil it has planted on have equal parts of red soil, vermicompost and cocopeat. I additionally started to provide liquid fertilizer once every two weeks for the last 2 months and im regularly adding leaf molds to it. Any advice is appreciated.
