Howdy. I just came from one of you videos on sine and cosine. I have a test today and you taught better of the span of an 8 min video than most teachers do in a month. And the video was 8 years ago

There's another version of the X method with a tweak that makes it much easier than the three methods mentioned. I'm a secondary math teacher and none of my fellow math teachers were aware of this method. We just used one of the three methods you mentioned. This modified X method was actually taught by a professor of one of my former students and the student shared it with me. I've been using it ever since.
Where you have the -10 and 6 using the X method, take the -10 and 6 and divide each by the 'a' value which is 4, giving you -10/4 and 6/4. Reduce the fractions if possible without turning it into an integer, leaving you -5/2 and 3/2. These are the coefficients of X and constants in the factored form. For each fraction, the denominator is the coefficient of X and the numerator is the constant, which give your (2x-5) and (2x+3). Please make a video using this method and share.

I see where your last method is easier. My current Professor does it that way. It takes practice to be that fast. I hope I get there one day. Until then, I’m using the other methods. I dropped out of high school in 1988, having never taken Algebra. I’m taking it now at 50 years old! This is my last class to take before receiving my Associate’s of Science degree. So, thank you for all of your videos. Such a tremendous help!!!

What order do I put the rewritten equation in when doing grouping. How do I know that -10x goes with the 4x squared?

There are several variations of the AC Method and Guess-And-Check. I think it's best that student lean one of each. I say this because there are times when multiplying AC results in a pretty big number. When this happens, I think a version of Guess-And-Check can be easier.

Why add the extra step and complexity of multiplying ac when the factors of the coefficient of the x^2 term are already contained in the coefficient of the x term (since the square root of 4 is included in b two times, so 2 and 2)? In the example, you only need to find the factors of 15 that add to 2 (which are 5 and 3). AC only makes sense when the factors of the a term are not already contained in the b term.

solid point, my purpose of the video was to show and explore three different techniques in general but love TIP to avoid unecessary work! Thank you!
