If you're reading THIS comment below with a musical you'd like to see given the "Minute-ish" treatment - that's how I'll know you read this far. 😉 Thanks for watching!
Oh, and would you click that like button? Love you forever.
"Malibu sailor Ken" never has there been a better way to describe Anthony.
"you know. because it smells. like burning bodies."
"sings a thinly veiled metaphor" i'm dead
“The best hairstyle in England”
Yeah, you’ve got that right. It kind of disappoints me that this Mrs. Lovett’s hair isn’t as popular as the movie version. I see all these hair tutorials for the movie hair, but none for this one. I mean, I know more people know about the movie than the original, but still; this hair is just iconic! Looks more difficult to replicate, but that just makes it more interesting!
I always though she looked like Minnie Mouse with that hairstyle. xD
Though yeah, It would be interesting to see how that style is done(how to curl up the locks into little balls like that, and such).
Tag yourself I'm the unimportant beggar woman
I'm Malibu Ken
no. you're king george xD
I'm the Witch (?)
I'm Toby tbh
I'm the IKEA chair.
"Malabu Sailor Ken" "Top hat Ken" Yep! This was just pure brilliance xD ♡♥
emmybm15 I literally laughed so hard when he said that. 😂
Malibu Sailor Ken....Brilliant!!!!
1971 MALIBU SAILOR KEN fucking wrecked me
i would love to see you try to do les miserables minutish musical
You deserve millions of views
My absolute favorite and George Hearn is forever Sweeney Todd. I'll bet Len Cariou regrets not doing the video
The 1979 production was the only one I saw in which they used the Kühndørf barber chair; it was definitely a nice touch.
I LOVED this show -- best night of theatre ever! I was lucky enough to see it in a Boston theatre, with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn (I think). Gangbusters.
"like burning boddies" i chocked
I'll say it again!! I don't understand why you don't have more views your amazing!!! I will be sure to tell my fellow theater junkies about you!
Congratulations!!!! Your show is funny and clever... We are waiting for more.
"Nellie always asks how I've been keeping." Love it. (Get it? "Love it." "Lovett?") [ hee-yuck. snicker.]
This is highkey so funny why isn't you're channel bigger and the Shakespeare at the very end I'm so glad I found this haha
*your
I like the end when he goes like, "Oh Juliet, you crazy girl," then very cheesily laughs.
THIS IS WHAT SOLD ME ON SWEENEY TODD BLESS YOU *falls to knees*
please ...do Phantom of the opera! :) please
Malibu Sailor Ken XD
I've recently been on an Angry Gaming Nerd and Nostalgia Critic binge, and I was wondering what other media could be covered in similar irreverant tone. My question has just been answered xD Musicals, of course musicals :D
me, who hasnt seen the movie or musical, but is 10 videos about sweeney todd in: I... i guess I should have watch it first, huh... oh well *continues video*
This is my favorite musical and I'm pretty sure I'm too young too know about it. Lol
This was great!!
i honestly prefer the movie, as i saw it before the original. but im sure that the people who haven't seen the original into the woods will like the new movie (soon to be released in theaters) better than the original 1991 version with Bernadette Peters as the witch instead of meryl streep.
You should wath the play of Sweeney Todd at the Lincoln Center.
ok, I'll look it up! :)
You are absolutely adorable. Love your stuff.
Omg! I've only seen the other stage performance I didn't know she played Mrs Lovett!!!
AWESOME!
Where is this version of the show watchable?
I feel like "Mea Culpa" is worth a mention.
this was hilarious
Awesome, except that Mrs. Lovett crocheted a scarf. She was not knitting. That was a crochet hook she was using. Very nice video. Five stars! :)
Thank you for the airplane reference
Where is the recording he used?! I need to find it!
MSTe98 You can purchase it on Amazon. Its the 1982 Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn.
I found it on Dailymotion, too (I’d really like to buy it, though).
It's available on Amazon for around £5. You can also get it on iTunes for a similar price.
Hahahahahaha.... MORE!!
I'm Mrs. Lovett™; do you realize Mrs. Lovett and Princess Leia have the same hairstyle?
Watched this too many times
Nice Job!
Good grief,I remember my dad watching this on PBS back in the day.Anybody know how old this version was?
WinterSnow I think it’s from ‘82.
Miscast Johanna or Sweeney
I have watched this video 3 times and still don’t get it
Does anyone know where to watch this recording of the show? I'd love to see it
It can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon, though there have been findings of the recording on dailymotion. I hope this helps. : )
minute-ish Les Misèrables.
where can I watch the whole thing? I've been looking for it!!!!!
Please do heathers or hamilton
What happened to most of the clips from the 1982 recording bc most of them are not available and where did you get all of the footage?!?!
Where can I see the 1982 version?
You can buy it on DVD on Amazon, or rent it on Prime Video.
Holy balls, do people not understand that Sweeney Todd is an opera? It was written AS an opera, it only ended up on Broadway, and no one really knows why. It's not a musical. Sonheim said OPERA.
Please stop talking
Well operas don't have much spoken dialogue and this had a ton of it. Thats the main difference between an opera and a musical. So how was this written as an opera?
It’s *almost* an opera, but not quite, because there’s also quite a bit of spoken dialogue even on the cast album. It was originally going to be an opera, but then dialogue was added, and it became a sort of opera-musical hybrid.
It’s too bad that the filmed version does not capture the essence of the live performance. It was riveting
Just putting this here because there was 99 comments and it was annoying me
That was all spoilers !
Fuckin Wunderbaaaarrrrr
Where is this shoot of Sweeney Todd found
The 1982 filmed production (with George Hearn and Angela Lansbury). You can buy it on Amazon or iTunes, and it’s also on Dailymotion if you want to watch it for free.
Where do you get the movie
And then Tim Burton happened...
VantasFantas I adore that movie it's just put the darker parts to light
And everyone paid attention to that version and not this one. Unfortunately.
RQ.Awkward And cut Johanna’s character to the point where she’s just a living prop who’s only there for plot reasons. Seriously, they didn’t even let her be the one to shoot Fogg! Not to mention, it aims to be so much darker than the original, yet completely skips over the bit at the end with Toby going insane (which for me is one of the darkest parts of the show).
Yeah. He highlighted the grossness (heads hitting stones) and psychological darkness. What makes the show great onstage was entirely missing from the film.
TeaRoses ikr she barely gets to sing they even cut her only song short. I love the movie but i hate how they cut out a lot of the songs
Can you doTitanic?
Where did you find all the clips
It’s from the filmed 1982 production with George Hearn and Angela Lansbury. You can buy it on Amazon or iTunes, and I think someone also uploaded it to Dailymotion.
Where did you get the footage?
bitchplease he clips are from the 1982 tour version (available on DVD; Google it.)
I think you're a thing~ :)
Lo
I must say. Somethign has always irritated me watchin clips from the original production. It's set in London. So why, the FUCK, does Sweeney Todd and other characters have American accents???!!!! And before you say it's because he was transported, that would have been to Australia. Also, it's not like the story was from another language, were they that lazy that they couldnt be bothered to learn an English accent??
Because it’s an American production
La version de Tim Burton avec Johnny Depp est bien mieux que tout ces petits trucs 👎🏻👎🏻
The Original production is terrible. The set design is too sparse and the direction too campy. Just terrible. Modern versions are a vast improvement.
