    “The best hairstyle in England”
    Yeah, you’ve got that right. It kind of disappoints me that this Mrs. Lovett’s hair isn’t as popular as the movie version. I see all these hair tutorials for the movie hair, but none for this one. I mean, I know more people know about the movie than the original, but still; this hair is just iconic! Looks more difficult to replicate, but that just makes it more interesting!

      I always though she looked like Minnie Mouse with that hairstyle. xD
      Though yeah, It would be interesting to see how that style is done(how to curl up the locks into little balls like that, and such).

    i honestly prefer the movie, as i saw it before the original. but im sure that the people who haven't seen the original into the woods will like the new movie (soon to be released in theaters) better than the original 1991 version with Bernadette Peters as the witch instead of meryl streep.

      RQ.Awkward And cut Johanna’s character to the point where she’s just a living prop who’s only there for plot reasons. Seriously, they didn’t even let her be the one to shoot Fogg! Not to mention, it aims to be so much darker than the original, yet completely skips over the bit at the end with Toby going insane (which for me is one of the darkest parts of the show).

    • @ellenspear50
      @ellenspear50 5 лет назад +3

      Yeah. He highlighted the grossness (heads hitting stones) and psychological darkness. What makes the show great onstage was entirely missing from the film.

    Holy balls, do people not understand that Sweeney Todd is an opera? It was written AS an opera, it only ended up on Broadway, and no one really knows why. It's not a musical. Sonheim said OPERA.

    • @ea6102
      @ea6102 5 лет назад +3

      Well operas don't have much spoken dialogue and this had a ton of it. Thats the main difference between an opera and a musical. So how was this written as an opera?

    • @tearoses9940
      @tearoses9940 4 года назад +1

      It’s *almost* an opera, but not quite, because there’s also quite a bit of spoken dialogue even on the cast album. It was originally going to be an opera, but then dialogue was added, and it became a sort of opera-musical hybrid.

    I must say. Somethign has always irritated me watchin clips from the original production. It's set in London. So why, the FUCK, does Sweeney Todd and other characters have American accents???!!!! And before you say it's because he was transported, that would have been to Australia. Also, it's not like the story was from another language, were they that lazy that they couldnt be bothered to learn an English accent??

    The Original production is terrible. The set design is too sparse and the direction too campy. Just terrible. Modern versions are a vast improvement.
