  • Dr. Jennifer Goldman-Wetzler is a high-impact organizational psychologist, keynote speaker, and executive coach who helps CEOs and their senior teams optimize organizational health and growth by enabling them to master conflict.
    If you have ever:
    · Tried to resolve conflict and failed
    · Tried to resolve conflict and it worked for a short time, and then it failed
    · Avoided a conflict, but then it got so big you wished you’d dealt with it sooner
    · Gotten blind-sided by a conflict-- it came seemingly out of nowhere
    · Said things you wish you hadn’t
    · Not said things you wish you had…
…watch this talk where Dr. Jennifer Goldman-Wetzler demonstrates the seven key practices to becoming a conflict master. Jennifer offers an approach designed to revolutionize how you engage with difficult conflicts in the workplace, at home, and in the community. In this talk, learn how to: change your perspective to get the results you seek; turn difficult emotions from a liability into an asset; make differing values work for you rather than against you; prevent disasters and ensure positive long-term outcomes; and courageously and productively speak and listen, even when that seems impossible.

I have no doubt of her conviction to her message, but I am increasingly beginning to cringe whenever I hear someone say, "...living at your greatest human potential." The older I get (now, mid 60's) the less I find greatness an ideal worth pursuing. It brings anxiety and anger because, gee whiz, we're human and constantly fail at something, whether it is parenting, work-related, etc. I'm more enticed by the holistic idea of contentment, appreciating with humility all that transpired in life.

What a valuable talk! It's for dealing with more intractable conflicts, and offers concrete practices for becoming skilled in managing difficult conflict. I'm looking forward to when her book for this talk is published.

Psych 101. 14:37 and the greatest insight so far is a trite aphorism we've all heard a hundred times. Get to the point, fer cryin' out loud. Google has to start rehearsing and editing these speakers.
