Forget about the Seiko Alpinist, this watch is actually the best field watch for the money, as it ticks all the boxes: perfect dimensions at 39mm, large lumed numerals, impeccable legibility, tons of lume, sapphire, stainless steel construction, bracelet you can't find even on a 600 USD Seiko, 20mm lug-width, 200mm WR. Bonus: gorgeous green dial, NH35 movement and super-low price! I want one!
Got this watch for a few weeks. Wear it everyday. I set it once a week or so. Its about 20 sec fast. In a week. The lume is fantastic. Finish is ok. Just a great watch. Buy it. Now.
Kieran. Thank you so much for bringing this one to our attention! I hope this is a sign of things to come. This brand is admitting the homage but developing a watch with its own character.
I like the different textures on the dial and the brushed case looks good. Really good specs at a great price, a decent watch from Addisdive. Great review, cheers Kieron 👍
THANK YOU for saying you like a watch that you otherwise would not like! This is what great YT content is about. (Watch the video for why this is true.) It's a total GADA ("Go Anywhere Do Anything") watch, not one I'd like, but for many it'd be fantastic, and if you watch the video you'll see why, the dial, the case, etc. Very good review.
While its hard to call anything truly "original" - this Addiesdive imo seems more original than homage in my opinion. The alpinist has a very different case and dial design. About the only thing the two watches share is the color scheme. Sure, Addiesdive calls it an Alpinst, but they did a good job in not copying the design directly from Seiko.
I’d love to see some other color combinations on this one for I don’t like green with yellow. This watch has been out for months but it seems to be somewhat hidden behind the more popular models from Addiesdive. More color options could help.
100%. I don't think people are wanting a proper Alpinist and settling for this instead though. I think it's just a cool piece to own if you like the style/genre of the Alpinist and want an affordable option to smash about as a bit of a beater. Also some enthusiasts literally can't afford to go over $100. So I always try and bring some options on the channel to help them too!
@@TFPMadcow because in your mind $650 = $80. Instead of just being happy that they're wearing an automatic that they like you're ready to be an elitist and make fun of an affordable watch to scare off those that might not be able to squander $650 on a WATCH. I'm happy that this segment of the market exists. Sapphire, 316L, solid end links, 28,800 bph, good lume, milled clasp, Seiko won't give you that for $350. You'll have ro accept your pressed clasp and mineral crystal and say, "Thanks".
@@orangeyellow-me1pz come on. You know perfectly this will be purchased by people that have 10 other affordables. They could have one nice, horologically meaningful watch. They end with ten chinese bs for the same value.
If they aren’t pressure testing each watch individually (and at that price I highly doubt they are) they shouldn’t be putting “Diver’s 200m” on the case back, as that is reserved for ISO-6425 compliance.
I tested a seestern (so chinese untested bs) for a whole day at the swimming pool. No problem whatsoever. They don’t do any proper testing, they just trust the specs to achieve the wr they put on the dial, but end of the story my experience is positive on that parameter
@@TFPMadcow I'm diving (under and above) sea with Tandorio nh35 watch (200m) that I bought for 50 U$. Not a single problem with it and many times watch survived jumps over 10m and depths below 10m.
Pity they don't offer it with a quartz movement. Some of us have completely had it with inaccurate autos and will put up with 1tick/sec. The cost shows how poor quality the stock auto movements are.
i have always dislike the dial and design of the original launched seiko alpinist from 1990s or 2000s..... i find the green dial and design rather hideous and totally dont understand why so many watch enthusiasts seems to like that. in contrast i much prefer the sharp looks of seiko 1959 Re-issue/ Re-creation of the original design Alpinist which seiko launch many in the higher spec / movement ( all with 6r movements) models and variations around or after late 2010s or 2000s . Hence i purchased 1 piece of the Seiko ginza dial LE alpinist (blue/grey brick mosaic dial with slightly green hue) which is of the 1959 re-creation design some years ago around 2021? . i like this piece here also and actually i don't find it really homaging on seiko alpinist anyway , it probably just some design or dial inspiration slightly similar to the i find ugly seiko green alpinist.
There are pretty much like 12 variations of watch man has ever invented and all this "variety" is delusional BS. This watch is completely uninspiring and wouldn't even be worthy of being seen if content didn't need to be made. It looks like every other watch ever in that style. Ooooo Ahhhh. So lame. Everyone does it, not singling you out bro.
Hey, you're entitled to your opinion my friend. I think this is a good one for those who don't have much money to spend but still want a great watch. Afterall, it's near enough impossible to get a big brand at this price point these days

Bang on mate. Which is how a homage watch should be done! Thanks for watching, have a good weekend my friend.
Super legible, which I appreciate. I like the big arrow pointer on the hour hand.
I wear mine on a hemsut leather strap and I love it. Wears wonderfully well.
More power to AD/SD. They'll keep bringing out even more original gear. Hopefully in quartz. Nice backing tracking track as well.
Good hand sets, legible and easy to read.
This is a stunner! I would definitely buy it! It reminds me of the Alpinist without being the Alpinist. Have a great weekend man!
100% mate. It's good to see a tad bit of originality in these AliX watches.
Thanks bud. Have a good one yourself 😎
@@TopTierTicker 😁👌
Great video as usual. Really cool looking watch. Hair looks great too!
Thank you kindly! Still trying to find my feet with the new style 😆 watch is definitely cool though 👌😎
Give me this dial and specs in that 36mm case from the other watch! I definitely prefer the smaller size.
That's a great looking dial and a good watch for the pri.

Great watch for the price mate. Very well made. Feels like a tank tbh. Throw on a great looking dial, winner winner.
Hope all is good mate!
Weird, not much time I saw Addies easier to read than Seiko, but this one did
That's a good point, they have haven't they 🤣
I just paid $46 in the 11/11 sale. If it had screw pins instead of friction, it would probably be the perfect GADA watch
Wish it was in light blue
Never seen this before very nice!
Probably my favourite aliexpress watch yet. Feels slightly better in hands too over the AD2030
@@TopTierTicker Wow that is high praise I thought the AD2030 was great!
Pretty nice looking watch 👍

Very nice watch although I would like a colour coded date wheel
Have you been to the same Barber as Russ Mad Watch Collector?
😂 Weird coincidence is all. I'll likely go back to the last style in a few weeks 👌
That's a cracking watch for the price. I've money for the Captain Willard homage but I dunno.

I agree. Some other colours would give this model leg. I'd love to see a yellow and blue 👌
I like that its not a clone and I like that they didn't use their ugly "mighty ducks" logo
Well, it is on the caseback and crown. But at least it's not on the dial 🤣 and thankfully no 'deep sea dark sea horse hunter' text either
It's nearly £300 before taxes now on the link! Not a steal anymore..
Lol, I don't know what's happened with that. I've updated it now with a cheaper link.
@@TopTierTicker Ali X logic! It's 99$ on their website!
Great review. I've never purchased from aliexpress, but if I did, this one would be the one to do it. Thanks Kieron!!
That's good to know! This would be my new #1 suggestion to people now. Have a great weekend!
@@TopTierTicker Labor Day weekend here the states so it's a 3 day weekend!! Can't wait for your next video! Have a good one!
