THANK YOU for sharing your build process and tips in both of your first and second videos. Is your DAK panzer crewman figure from the DRAGON - the four figures that are included with their "Orange Box" Panzer III Ausf G "AfrikaKorps"?
Wonderfully done! I do dioramas in the same style as this, one tank, a few figures and clean black sides. But all of mine are of quite big vehicles and with some large scenery details. This makes me want to make a really small and focused scene, perhaps a kettenkraftrad or something of that size. Great job and thanks for the inspiration
Super job, James. A vignette doesn't need a lot of content yet yours tells an intriguing story with just a few items placed here and there in a barren landscape (apart from a wayward gecko). The final result is stunning!
Hi James, excellent dio of the desert 🏜 scene & panzer 1. As fans have pointed out, it is a chameleon, as my Dad put one on my arm similar to the figure. I was 10 years old, but I freaked out the minute is started to move up my arm. Love the chanel.
First video I’ve seen of yours, you definitely got a new sub today. Love the care you take for the smallest details and the great tips for airbrushing!
Stellar work! You should try some silicone plaster mixing bowls when making your basing compound. They make it really easy to mix, pour, and clean up afterwards with these things, and they are pretty cheap and come in all sizes.
I love how effective this is on such a tiny scale. Plus your small bursts of humour really make the video even more fun to watch 😁 easy subscribe for me as I'm not watching more of your videos now I've found your channel 👍
Hiya James, I loved the ground work, you reminded me to grab some DAS next time I'm out and about.oh and some cheap gloves, That Terracotta colour seems like it might stain everything.
Wonderful diorama James! The scenery came out beautifully and the character paint work was really good as well (and the tank of course already looked great). Interesting solution to the cracked earth not sticking. I'd imagine diluted wood glue might work (add dark brown paint and it doubles up as a wash?) or the Sand & Ballast Freeze, but I guess you tried this. You'll definitely find more relevant "gecko" references when you Google for "Common Chameleon", by the way! Seeing as chameleons take on the colour from their environment, I guess the guy found him amongst the aloe veras. Love the skull, by the way, that one looks very convincing. What 3D printer do you use? Great stuff James, keep 'em coming!
Thanks mate ! I'm using a mars 2 Pro, 2k bit still great fidelity. I put my foot right in it with the chameleon. But you can't know everything lol ! To be honest I didn't want to waste my sand and ballast freeze, and it is slightly thicker than the mr setter, even that I had to be careful with ( is pretty much watered down pva anyway) Thanks a lot!
Hallo James, kann den Skull leider nicht auf der Website downloaden, was mache ich falsch? Finde da kein Download Link. Deine Dioramen sind der Hammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Danke Stefan, the website is confusing. On the page you must click the bold text " Download Link " above preview model. After that the next step is a almost hidden link underneath the adverts on the next page. Just above the tags.
Hi James, Tremendous stuff you got there, I learned a few new things, which is great, but I dont understand the 3D stuff. Do you buy these, or buy a file that you download yourself, and then somehow changes the item to 1:35, for then later print it out in your own expensive 3D printer?? Regards Anton
Hi Anton. The files I used were mostly free. The skull, plant and jar were scans of real world objects I found online. You just search " rams skull STL " or anything you want followed by STL. Then I searched for rough measurements, and scaled the items accordingly. Some good printers are as reasonable as £200. Which for me has offset the cost of spare and aftermarket parts, also can make thing more unique. I recently downloaded a Stuart tank in 1/48 highly detailed for free.
Nice, Some great tips…. Is the figure a bigger scale than the tank? Also agree with others that it’s a chameleon, but given they can change colours then it’s hard to go wrong with the paint job on that! 😂
*Little tank so little scenery and it's great! Definitively the reptile is a chameleon!!! 😊😋*
I won't argue ! I am ill educated in the world of reptiles 😀
Nah it's a salamander
Chameleon!!!
@@lpjmodels you can get a point if you know why a gecko is called a gecko
You should be pleased, it's Outstanding work, sir! Ground, tank, rocks, even the Aloe Vera, yes, just yes 👍
thanks @crazyLocha mate !
Let me know your favourite detail of the Dio!
Edit.. Also, I hope the thumbnail isn't tooo cheesy.

Love the Dio and the Paint job on the figure! And yeah I know the feel of looking at the close up camera footage after painting a figure! :D
One of your best. Awesome work as usual.
Thanks Cliff, pretty pleased with this one 😀
Just very Good and Original!
Looks really good!
Lovely diorama, mate, nice touch with the skull👍
Thanks man ! I'm surprised it printed so nicely
Great job with really nice detail! One suggestion would be some tank tracks in the mud for how the tank got into position. 👍
Great work on the diorama.
James, that was a excellent build and the vignette turned out perfectly, well done, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
Nicely done. A wonderful little scene full of great tips, and very nice video production.
Quality vid mate, really enjoyed that! Love the lo-fi, all the unique materials, and great techniques!
Really great job mate. Looks very convincing of desert terrain. Cheers. 😊
Looks great! Love the geko! Thanks for sharing. 😎🇨🇦
Great work James!
Nice work, but your Gecko is actually a Chamelion. lol
Thanks ! If I had a £ for every person that pointed that out lol. Its only 2mm big
Looovely work James ! The history that you developed is so great!
Super job, James. A vignette doesn't need a lot of content yet yours tells an intriguing story with just a few items placed here and there in a barren landscape (apart from a wayward gecko). The final result is stunning!
Love it! Saw it in the flesh at the NDMS the other night where it went down very well, brilliant work, love the detail touches. 😎😎😎😎
Thanks Sera ! It was a great club night. Great to see everyone and the competition was excellent
Nice mate that looks awesome love the north Africa dioramas. Also smart idea with the way you anchored the tank to the ground.
Thanks mate ! Yeah I had a problem with a previous dio where I dropped the vehicle. Whoops..
Great work James
Hi James, your vignette looks fantastic, mate. Well done. Cheers, Gary.
it's very lovely!!
Nice tutorial and video!
Great scene.

1/35th scale is not tiny, it's the standard military modelers scale for decades. His facetious sense of humor is well regarded.
@@jeremylindsey94 it's tiny compared to full scale now isn't it 😂
@@DarkSketchbooks And smaller yet when compared to a 2:1 scale! LOL_Z0RS
Hiya James, I loved the ground work, you reminded me to grab some DAS next time I'm out and about.oh and some cheap gloves, That Terracotta colour seems like it might stain everything.
Thanks Kiwiruna ! The grey is much less stainy. I only use terracotta so it shows up better
Absolutely beautiful work!! Just it`s not gecko, it`s chameleon :)))
Super ❤ cool 😊
It's a chameleon not a gecko. Still an exceptional job.

Hi James,
Fantastic stuff dude! Love the final piece. Did you find any shrinkage or cracking with DAS?
Cool vignette, but that's a chameleon not a gecko.
Ah dang .
Marks from tracks on the ground were missing.
👍
Thanks Igor !

Thanks ! No the panzer 1 is really that small both same scale.
Can I ask where the figure is from?
Panzer art I did say so early on !
@LPJ Models oh sorry, I missed that bit. Great video and cracking little scene by the way!
No prob man easily done !
"pages and pages of German's point at things" 👁👄👁
Gravel and Sand fixer could have solved your flaking issue....
I have a book with medical corps panzer II in the invasion of russia so medical corps had tanks.
