so I'm probably not Ryobi's "typical" customer. I am a 52yr old disabled woman who would classify myself as a "prepper". I am a converting an enclosed cargo trailer to allow me to travel in to craft shows. I support myself by making handmade hair bows, keychains etc and have for a few years sold them online and at Hot Air Balloon Festivals. Ironically enough the last few shows my FIRST customer each show has been a man! They always seems to want to purchase their favorite sport teams keychain or hairbows for their daughter/granddaughter. Power is an issue at these shows so I usually take my Jackery with me. I've recently noticed while converting the cargo trailer that a simple fan to circulate air while plugged into the jackery leaves a LOT to be desired. SOOOO during Ryobi days I decided to purchase the battery starter pack with the free fan and then added the smaller clamp fan.. OMGOSH!! I am hooked, I've already purchased at least another 4 combo packs and after seeing this video I am going to look into the solar set up. Sucks I had to be 52 before I discovered all this wonderful stuff. My son just graduated high school and will be 18 next month I've already got him 2 Ryobi items so he can start his collection at a much younger age than his mom did lol
They need to make the bigger multi-battery "generator" form factor work with 18 volt batteries! I believe a large part of the customer base has built up a sizeable 18 volt battery supply (I have lost count over the 10 years I have used Ryobi) and I would love to put 4 or 6 batteries onto a unit that can kick out 1500+ watts, but also recharge all batteries attached from multiple sources (110v, solar, 12v, etc). This would be my dream product. I really don't want to have a second form factor with 40v batteries. If I go that route, EGO seems to have a more compelling product, but the point is, I don't want to- I want to be One+ for life. PLEASE RYOBI, PLEASE I hope your reading these :)
I would like to see an 18v generator option as well. I have a dozen 18v batteries and zero 40v products. I own ego products for my yard tool needs and may end up going with their generator when the time comes.
@@oh-qn6ht I agree, Ryobi needs to have an inverter that is powered by at least 6 18 volt batteries, and puts out a pure sine wave. Come on Ryobi, you can do this in your sleep.
Totally agree with you. That is way we need. 18v is the household tools and the biggest seller. Both dwalt and milwalkey have a solution. Thy should fix a generator/multi charger that can handle there solar panels.
They have a lot of 40V batteries in the wild that goes with their yard tools. The 40v generator makes the most sense since the batteries are much larger. You would have to have a generator with a whole bunch of 18V batteries to compete, which doesn't make a lot of sense for a power station/generator. That's why they gave you options to use one 18V battery for small power needs.
Did the math on the solar charger and they're definitely pushing the numbers. "Charge 9 2.0ah batteries in 24hrs" That's 24hrs of 100% direct sunlight. So in reality it'll take about 3-4 summer days or 6-9 winter days to get 18ah of power. So it may charge a single 4.0ah/5.0ah in a day if you're lucky; doubtful though.
That’s exactly what I thought. Numbers don’t lie. But these dudes definitely do and did lie. You will get nowhere near the numbers they are saying. Shame because this will turn people away from the brand. Just total lying with a smile. 🤦🏻♂️
i was wondering if you could plug a 18v solar panel into the auto/18v inverter since it has the 18v input. then you could plug chargers into the A/C outlets on the inverter. i've got a 100w solar panel arriving in a few days. i'm looking at this from a longer term power outage scenario.
i mean....they arent exactly lying. they didnt say 'in 1 day' they are saying 24 hours but could be interpreted as 24 hours spread out? maybe im thinking about it too hard
I wish they'd come out with an updated version of their 6-port super charger that allows you to plug in six batteries and use it as a portable power station. Milwaukee and DeWalt (I think) have one like that. I'm just getting some of the 9amp batteries and it would be nice for a power outage, even if it keeps something like a fridge going for a few hours. Might mean the difference between keeping and losing food.
@@cujoedaman Hmmm, 6x9ah batteries *could* pump out some serious amount of amps if it happens to short internally.. Though, the idea of a easily hot swappable system like that would be amazing.
I've been using a 100 Watt solar panel, 12 V battery and inverter to recharge my Ryobi and other tools for use on remote sites for over a Year. It's good to See Ryobi come up with a similar idea.
Ryobi coming in hot 🔥. Great pricing, affordable and with ample amount of power for there tool. Definitely digging the Innovation this year. Thanks for the vid.
Love ryobi tools. I like the fact that they make their new battery’s fit their older power tools so you don’t have to go buy a new drill or saw like the other tool manufacturers. I bought my ryobi 8 pieces tool set over 20 years ago and the batteries went bad. They were the ni-cd type. I use to have a black and decker weed wacker and leaf blower they went bad so I got a ryobi weed wacker and leaf blower and that’s when I found out that the new plus one lithium batteries would work with my old power tools and love them. Instead of having to go buy a new drill I just go and get a new battery. Way cheaper then buying a new tool. I can get two new batteries for the price of a new drill on other battery power tool and I like the fact that they have a way to charge them from the sun when you are not near a place to plug in to electrical power.
Have always been a big Ryobi fan (I've built a solar stand, pool deck, and workshop primarily with Ryobi power tools -- and one big Dewalt miter saw to chop the boards down to size). I've got a couple of the 150w inverters; my wife takes one with a couple of 4AH batteries with her to run her portable oxygen machine. So it is all about the price point for their bigger inverters, I already have solar running 2 pure sine wave inverters.
Glad to see Ryobi finally making a solar charger. Hell a few years ago I bought the 18v car charger, cut the cigarette lighter plug off, and wired an Anderson quick connector to it. Charge my batteries off my homemade portable solar power box.
I built my off grid home in 2001 with Ryobi tools and a chainsaw. Still have some of the blue tools. They are the most innovative tool line out there. I have many 40volt tools too, including the mower. Grab the lithium batteries when they're on sale (probably have twenty 18volt batteries).
I'm a pretty heavy diy guy and love what i see from Milwaukee and realize they make good shit, but when it comes time for me to buy some new tools and invest in a platform, I think i'll pick Ryobi. The price to performance ratio they have is unbeatable and they have a crazy extensive battery platform that damn near covers anything you'd ever need.
I've been using Ryobi in construction and hasn't let me down, not once. Great tools I don't care what the guys say at work. At the end of the day they ask me if they can use my Ryobi.
I built our entire 2200 sq ft net zero house using one drill and impact, dropped many times from high up and survived entire build. I wouldn’t buy anything else.
I have both systems. Ryobi for all the basic power tools and milwaukee for my 1/2 high torque impact. Had ryobi had there new high torque impact when I bought mine, I probably wouldn't have the milwaukee. With that said though i definitely don't regret owning both 18v systems. I have a milwUkee leaf blower that is comparable to a lot of the 40volt systems blowers. Also you can buy an adapter to utilize milwaukee battery's with ryobi tools and vice versa. I always recommend folks to stick with as few systems as possible so your not trying to manage 5 different types of battery packs but in this case 2 is liveable and I have never had an issue. I just got my hands on ryobis new high torque 1/2in nd am very impressed, rated at 1190ftlbs and very light compared to my Milwaukee but that Milwaukee is a beast. The rest are only just catching up to what the milwaukee 1/2in impact is capable of. Ridgids high torque is very impressive from what I hear as well.
I got one of the small 120watt inverters, and love it. It made it possible for me to strap a small pressure washer to a Dolly with a trashcan full of water, and go "offgrid" pressure washing on large properties I manage
I’m just a homeowner so Ryobi has always been sufficient for my uses, but I’ve used my battery “topper” for so many different things over the past couple years. Love seeing the news innovation and more uses for my batteries. Really get a lot of uses out of so many of their tools. (Again, not a contractor,)
I bought a decent amount of my Ryobi tools as a homeowner but now I own a handyman service. I have at least 15 different Ryobi 18V tools and they have performed beyond my expectations. The only issue I have had is 1......one....just one battery go bad. That's it. 4 years, one faulty battery. Ryobi deserves more respect than it gets
Leevy that’s good to hear. I do think the fit and feel of my DeWalt is higher quality in general, and I’d love to see Ryobi bring out a compact line comparable to Milwaukee 12. But I’ve been more than happy with the tools for my needs.
@@joshrx2010 If I would have known I would end up in construction again I would have purcahsed Dewalt. However, Ryobi has a really interesting and vast 18v tool line. Foggers, sprayers, little air conpressor that I use for my texture gun for drywall repair. Obviously the quality isn't as good as some other brands but the options are pretty cool. I'm in too deep now. Haha.
I've done one form of construction or another for the past twenty years. I thought my first Ryobis were junk...until the lithium batteries came out (Yes, the drill was still junk but the rest were _much_ better after that). I've added to the collection over the years and they're still making me money. Not just the green ones, either. I still have the blue recip saw, miter saw, shop vac, and just replaced my blue circular saw with _another_ blue one (finally killed the first one doing laminate flooring for the umteenth time with it) because the green one has terrible balance. People seem to think that "construction" means huge job sites for new construction, where you need the biggest and beefiest of tools. Truth be told, the vast majority of us never need to be able to cut fifty 4x4s in a row, drive half a dozen 12" lag bolts without stopping, or any of the other "torture tests" they like to put tools through. Ryobi does just fine at what most of us are actually doing: Building stuff.
This opens up the possibility of having tv/mini fridge and Xbox in the work van…next to the reptile tank heater that keeps the caulk/liquids/batteries from freezing
Holy cow! Love it. 90% of my tools are cordless Ryobi from my drills to my riding mower. I have almost 600W of solar on my shed that charges it all. I do get lazy and charge my 18V inside but all last summer I intentionally charged everything in the shed as a proof of concept test. Hopefully their solar will be good quality and decently priced.
5 years ago I didnt have a single solar panel on my house....I dont have solar power for the house but today I have 5 separate little solar panels powering water features security cameras and lights...The technology is really coming along nicely and its good to see Ryobi isnt ignoring it.
I would love to see Ryobi add charging capabilities to all of their Dual/hybrid power stuff. example the 18" fan, Tripod light, work lights, radios, ect.
Yo, REAL TALK. Thank you, Vince, for asking that question at 5:40. I was thinking that myself! I'd love to power my gaming pc with just solar panels and a battery 😂 I love this guys honest answer too, that he didn't know if it could do gaming computers or not. Very upstanding.
Most likely yes, depends on your PC Power supply good ones 80+ certified have PFC (Power Factor correction) which cleans up the power source to the PC. the other factor is how much power does your system draw compared to your battery source. Hope that helps.
It's so nice to hear companies listening to consumers' input. Batteries are expensive and they're a limited resource in some ways. Great job Ryobi! Makita: take notes! You're late!
Wow just wow. I thought trz's video on the Milwaukee nailers was gonna be the top video for me today. Then here comes Vince with this. Wow man I'm impressed I can't wait to get this stuff
Awesome bit of gear, I can't wait for the Aus version with 240v. If Ryobi want a tester I am willing. Great integration of using vehicles input and solar. So happy I have the one plus range in the shed
My dream setup is a n enclosed trailer with a complete solar setup. Solar panels on top and on awnings that are able to adjust to any angle. Mainly for battery powered lawn equipment but with enough reserves for emergency home powering use.
Ryobi should really develop a 18V Power Supply for Ryobi cordless tools, especially the angle grinder. A Dummy Battery 18V AC/DC power adapter to drive the Ryobi One+ cordless tools that require more power and increase both versatility (corded and cordless as the situation demanda) and extended use.
Those little green inverters (the smallest one) has been running my cpap while camping off grid all summer but you need a larger battery to last all night, but i have a shitload of Ryobi batteries, I now have an Ecoflow Delta, which is a whole new level above this stuff.
I have to admit this is pretty exciting. I've been a Ryobi guy for about 20 years. Back when they were blue (whenever that was). But modified sine wave is a bummer. I hope consumers shun modified enough that companies quit saving a few bucks and not going pure sine.
When you are talking about a subject, it is usually a good idea to put the camera on the subject at least once. With all of those power points I had no clue which they said had pure sine and which ones didn't.
I have a couple toppers. I use them at my off grid cabin. I have party lights on the hill and can get about 1 1/2 run time on the lights with a 4ah battery. I have a bag of 12 batteries I take with me to run a bunch of stuff on. I can recharge the batteries of the solar panels. I wish I could run a coffee maker on the topper.
Every brand should do what ryobi is doing. This is great for anyone when the power goes out. I hope Stihl does something like this because they have their big batteries.
I have 6 of those 800 max watt inverter at my store right now so maybe they mean it will be on the sales floor in the next 30 days got them in about a week ago and sold one the same day its in my no home bay at Kohler Wisconsin home depot
Been using Ryobi since they started, like the color change, makes their lightweight but powerful tools easier to see. Hopefully their battery's get better over time. Always seem to have some sort of issues with them. Let's hope these power amps help.
The Ryobi 40-volt batteries are great for light use when the power goes out. No more candles or D cell powered camping lanterns necessary. Just plug a normal table lamp into the 300 watt power supply. But I would NEVER try to replace a gas generator with a bunch of batteries.
I was really hoping to hear about the larger, folding solar panel to the back, left. Any idea what the wattage is on that and when it will be available?
I wonder if any of this stuff would be effective for like van life type stuff. I would love if Milwaukee came out with something like this in their larger battery platform for van life type situations
I wish the 1800w power station would take a common solar panel input like mc4 and charge/continuously run off of it. The Ecoflow batteries do something like that and can be charged from solar, 120v AC, or car cigarette adapter. Something like the 800w supply with 2 battery connections, solar input, and some more options for 12v out would be nice. Say using banana plug binding posts, or Anderson Powerpole connectors? That'd be huge for someone wanting to operate Ham Radio in the field. You could directly power most equipment off of the 12v power.
This is great!!! I really hope that TI is planning on bringing this over to Milwaukee. It'd be great to be able to charge my m18 batteries over usb-c. (Yeah, not as fast but surely convenient)
In college, I used the 1st converter to power my laptop in class. The kids laughed, until I was charging 6 cell phones and another laptop while powering my own. I am team green for life.
I NEED RELEASE DATES. I’m trying to set my parents and gf with ryobi stuff but I’m not gonna get the old 1+ inverter when the new inverter/charger is coming out. But I’ve been watching it on their website for months and it STILL says “coming soon”. When is it gonna be available?!
I'm absolutely loving the solar and the charge controller that will charge 18 volt batteries... I'm also loving that multi-voltage input inverter however I wish it was more than 300 watts on 18 volt but that's still better than the Milwaukee top off at only 275 Watts but I love the fact that it goes up to 800 off of the car battery and 120 w off of the 12 volt outlet in the car...meh
The car 800/300/120w inverter is NOT pure sine wave, nor are the other inverters. Only that 40v battery inverter is listed as pure sine wave unfortunately. Hopefully this new Inverter/Charger with USB-C PD input will be Pure... but I can't find any documentation.
@@sloanNYC oh yeah you're right only the 40 volt is pure sine I got overly excited and applied it to the 18 volt when it is not thank you for bringing me back to reality
SO about 3 months ago I emailed Ryobi an idea for a power inverter that also doubled as a jumpstarter since I have almost all of their tools and no portable jumpstarter. My truck also is not starting after a shut it off. Pretty sure I need a new car battery. Basically, there were no other tools in the industry that offered that capability. So I asked them if they could design and make something like that...Seems they took my email to heart. I appreciate you guys #ryobi
Might have to rewatch but I am pretty sure this does not charge a car battery, only pull power from the battery to power the inverter. When I saw this on the website, I was hoping it would be a car booster solution (which I also want!) But it didn't seem to so that. Did I miss something?
Ryobi's new $129 inverter cannot jump start an engine, and neither was it designed to. The 12 volt alligator clamps are for drawing power from a 12 volt automotive battery, not for jump starting (unfortunately). When connected to an automobile battery with the included clamps, Ryobi's 110 volt recepticle can output around 650 watts of power. The other 150 watts are for the USB outputs.

@@A6Legit gotta have an excuse for the purchase, lol jk
A lot of people talk trash about ryobi but that power inverter the 800 W awesome it'saved my mom's life hooked up nebulizer in the car
Excellent, I've been very impressed with Ryobi the last few years
Just ordered the 1800w 40v inverter with 4 6ah batteries, should have it by the end of the week
That’s so cool they are always coming up with bigger and better things.
Holy cow!
Perfect addition to my electro backup systems.
Good job Ryobi. I love the vid. Keep them coming.
Phenomenal...really well thought out system
Very amazing together we can make a difference on or off grid. Truly good stuff here especially for off the grid stuff.
Wow! This solar charger capability is a game changer!
when will the RYI150CVNM become available? not on the Home depot site?
Yo, REAL TALK. Thank you, Vince, for asking that question at 5:40. I was thinking that myself! I'd love to power my gaming pc with just solar panels and a battery 😂
I love this guys honest answer too, that he didn't know if it could do gaming computers or not. Very upstanding.
Most likely yes, depends on your PC Power supply good ones 80+ certified have PFC (Power Factor correction) which cleans up the power source to the PC. the other factor is how much power does your system draw compared to your battery source. Hope that helps.
Hello 👋 VCG
Thanks for the video Vince
Hello Stephen! 👍🏻
It's so nice to hear companies listening to consumers' input.
Batteries are expensive and they're a limited resource in some ways.
Great job Ryobi!
Makita: take notes! You're late!
No matter your stance on Ryobi, they are amazing innovators
Nice products. My husband likes his Milwaukee products but I am liking yours better
Ryobi is definitely pushing some innovation. Hope the blue competitor from the other big box store is taking notes for my sake.
Craftsman V20 heated jackets are coming. LOL. Lowe’s needs to step it up.
I wonder if the solar panels can be connected in line to get more solar rays and inturn charge and run products longer at peak ??
Wow just wow. I thought trz's video on the Milwaukee nailers was gonna be the top video for me today. Then here comes Vince with this. Wow man I'm impressed I can't wait to get this stuff
Hey Vince thanks for all the awesome videos Have a very Merry Christmas
And this is why I love my ryobi tools def interested in the solar panels
Awesome bit of gear, I can't wait for the Aus version with 240v. If Ryobi want a tester I am willing. Great integration of using vehicles input and solar. So happy I have the one plus range in the shed
Big fan of the One+ eco system. Glad to see to the solar charging addition!
Awesome the new inverter been waiting for it.. 300 watts when on 12v battery.. awesome will power my submersible pump
I am a Ryobi guy...this is good info👌🏾
Those little green inverters (the smallest one) has been running my cpap while camping off grid all summer but you need a larger battery to last all night, but i have a shitload of Ryobi batteries, I now have an Ecoflow Delta, which is a whole new level above this stuff.
The Ecoflow Delta also costs $1100. A heck of a lot more than the Ryobi solutions.
Seeing the Auxiliary battery option on the 800 watt. Is really a big big feature i wish the 1800w had.
The panels and adopter to charge my phone from the battery is awesome.
That 300w inverter is sleeper investment if the year.. I use it so much I bought a second.
Ryobi, we need an updated version of your 6-port super charger that can be used as a portable power station like the 40amp one you showed here! :D
If ryobi makes it milwaukee will be at it as well., love both companies, driving innovation
Love it - I run Ryobi light and a very few other tools But I will get these
Been using Ryobi since they started, like the color change, makes their lightweight but powerful tools easier to see. Hopefully their battery's get better over time. Always seem to have some sort of issues with them. Let's hope these power amps help.
Where can buy this solar charger at because I can't find it online
The Ryobi 40-volt batteries are great for light use when the power goes out. No more candles or D cell powered camping lanterns necessary. Just plug a normal table lamp into the 300 watt power supply.
But I would NEVER try to replace a gas generator with a bunch of batteries.
Gope those start getting made here in 🇺🇸 good video my friend
Dang, those are some nice looking products!
I was really hoping to hear about the larger, folding solar panel to the back, left. Any idea what the wattage is on that and when it will be available?
Same
I wonder if any of this stuff would be effective for like van life type stuff. I would love if Milwaukee came out with something like this in their larger battery platform for van life type situations
Where can I get some Ryobi solar panels
I wish the 1800w power station would take a common solar panel input like mc4 and charge/continuously run off of it. The Ecoflow batteries do something like that and can be charged from solar, 120v AC, or car cigarette adapter.
Something like the 800w supply with 2 battery connections, solar input, and some more options for 12v out would be nice. Say using banana plug binding posts, or Anderson Powerpole connectors? That'd be huge for someone wanting to operate Ham Radio in the field. You could directly power most equipment off of the 12v power.
Keep the good deals coming for your VCG Gang!👍🧰😍
Did Ryobi ever actually sell this solar panel and inverter/charger unit? I cannot find it on the HD website.
This is great!!! I really hope that TI is planning on bringing this over to Milwaukee. It'd be great to be able to charge my m18 batteries over usb-c. (Yeah, not as fast but surely convenient)
Ryobi has made a lot of awesome stuff lately. Could really use a ryobi heated jacket tho! Would be a cool addition
Man I'm all in all milwaukee I wish they will do the same cause this really makes me wanna jump into ryobi because of the solar system!
Ryobi great stuff don’t own any ryobi product but definitely interested now
In college, I used the 1st converter to power my laptop in class. The kids laughed, until I was charging 6 cell phones and another laptop while powering my own. I am team green for life.
My next purchase, love it
2:05 woah, you can parallel a battery powered and gas generator? I'd love to hear more about this. Would it pull equally from both?
I NEED RELEASE DATES. I’m trying to set my parents and gf with ryobi stuff but I’m not gonna get the old 1+ inverter when the new inverter/charger is coming out. But I’ve been watching it on their website for months and it STILL says “coming soon”. When is it gonna be available?!
Can I charge my EV using the generator (batt. Hub thingy) like the jackery batt. Generator can?
@@jdreynolds29 sad to help... LOL
👍🏻🎄🎁🍻🍺🍕🤣
