Engaging in active trading versus long-term investing requires unique strategies for maximizing returns. Active trading involves frequent buying and selling of securities, aiming to capitalize on short term market fluctuations. On the other hand, long-term investing focuses on holding assets over an extended period, leveraging the power of compounding.
Biggest lesson i learnt in 2023 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and follow a strategy with a long term edge.
The problem with intrinsic valuations is that they are subjective and the variations are huge. Waiting for assets to reach an intrinsic valuation, whatever method is used, will often result in the price just moving away after a small pullback leaving you stranded. Some analysts think Nvidia is cheap now, not overvalued and should be bought. It's all personal opinion.
If this investing thing was easy, everybody would be rich 😅

I was waiting for good time to buy NVIDIA since January and it never went down enough to buy it. I missed a lot of profit while I was waiting...

IMO, the log scaling on the S&P charts makes the drawdowns seem a lot less than they would be psychologically felt. The 50%+ ones in 2000 and 2008 are recent examples - they look like 14-15% on the charts.

It’s still better than funds allocated into ‘stupid coins’. And when I say allocation of funds doesn’t mean the whole of Singapore’s money. Just like how Berkshire allocation of funds to some of their ‘investing generals’. You should think harder

I’m brand new to buying stocks. I need basic instructions on how to spread $100k across the market in order to achieve a 7 figure portfolio. Im wondering if now is a good time to start investing, or do I wait for a crash to buy at discount price?
S and P 500 was making all time high because the USA as a financial hub was very strong snd thriving. But, this is no longer the case. If de dollarization is to be believed, then, we are certainly heading for a bad decade.
NVDA - Why do you keep saying it's overvalued ever since before the split or last earning call when it was $92 per share. Since then, it has increased more than 30% (if you were to sell today)? Have you missed out on waiting for it come down or saying it's overpriced?

Hi @wd6028 prices can sometimes be irrational, what’s overvalued can be even more overvalued in short term. As an investment, Adam prefers to buy when prices retraces to support level and below intrinsic value. Nvidia price action has been overstretched recently.

Mr Khoo, not too long along, when Nvidia was $70+, u said that its intrinsic value was $60+. Now, u said the intrinsic value doubled to $122! I dunno what to believe now 😢

i know your not keen on investing in energy as you remind us on your videos, but if you look at some goldman sachs reports, visual capitalist data or listen to any tech podcasts specifically on AI compute increase via data center(s) training relative to energy demand, its projected to increase YoY by 10% until 2030 and then really take off.
basically this means alot of energy is going to need to be produced to power such compute. And the energy sectors non renewable and renewable is in no capacity to handle that increase in output as is. Long story short being long energy or some type of energy exposure would be a good idea.

Doesn't make sense, best would be to backup your words with reality- shows us your total investment in the stock market rill February and since then- how much you have been selling since and how much you bought

After Dot-Com crash, it took Nasdaq 16 years to recover. Be careful following Adam blindly, where he says buy/hold for long term.
Dot Com crash took QQQ down almost 80%. If you added on the way down, like you suggest in this video, you would be working at Starbucks right now.
