I'll never forget the Giant Wheel, Canon River Rapids, or Flying Falcon. I am however surprised I completely forgot about Rodeo and Conestoga, despite being childhood favorites.
Wow, this brings back so many great memories as a kid. We couldn't afford Disney World, so we went to Hershey only once a year for my birthday. To think we used to be able to ride everything in 1 day...nowadays that's quite a challenge without paying for the line passes. Regardless, I think it's still a great park.
Wow talk about nostalgia! I made the tapes for the Flying Falcon that year! 1993 was the season a PA system was added to play music for riders! Thanks for the upload! 😀
It says “It was replaced by a wave pool called The Shore and a lazy river called Intercoastal Waterway - this was part of the “SeaQuel” expansion to The Boardwalk that opened for the 2009 season.”
Capacity reasons. Rapids only held 750 people an hour. A lazy river and wave pool is capable of many more. And yes rapids was very popular, often a two hour wait.
Hersheypark looked like a simpler park on the verge of becoming a major destination back then.
It was because there wasn't as many coasters or water rides. Plus they had more shows.

Thanks for the upload. 1993 doesn't seem that long ago until you see a video from then.
i wish more parks had observation towers
Kissing Tower is an awesome ride, even as a 35 year old season pass holder I try to ride it every trip, even if I'm alone.
Love it! Childhood memories unlocked!
Giant Wheel, Flying Falcon, Canon River Rapids, Rodeo, and Conastoga. Childhood in a nutshell.
This must be 1996. The wildcat opened that year and I can see a 1996 Chevy S10 Blazer on display in the park
Love that they were playing Queen in the park!
Actually it was known as canyon river rapids before the water park I am looking forward to taking a vacation there
The narration is great! I love the "yinzer" accent! :-)
Great video and I enjoyed the narration too. What wonderful memories and documentation. We were just there last weekend, its wild to see the changes.
Why would they get rid of the white water rapid? That was a stupid decision, that’s usually one of the most popular rides at any park.

Such a dad move to overexplain the height meters and how the rides work. 😂
Sadly, as of 7-31-2022, Wildcat has closed for good. 😢
And now as of 8-21-2023 It’s now Wildcats revenge and got that RMC treatment
I've never ridden it but it's now one of the park's signature attractions, even won a Golden Ticket.
Wildcat is not better than the Comet lol
There's a reason why Wildcat only lasted 26 years and Comet has been around for 78 years and counting
