    After you use the chalk paint do you use a sealer or just leave the finish as is? I’m doing this to a bathroom vanity cabinet so I’m wondering what humidity might do to the finish. Thank you!

    Your furniture is beautiful. Can you explain why you prefer latex paint to create the wash? And maybe explain the different results you found with other paints that led to your latex preference? Thank you for your time and expertise!

    I see lots of photos of finished products and less about the actual how-to's, especially when adding another color.

    U did great by introducing simple method to make the distress look than requiring buying a bunch of stuff to make it. Thank you!

    I love these methods!! Thank you so much for the ideas and tips! I have a side table that is already stained with a finish on it (that’s how I found it on the curb), there are some burn marks and spots in the wood. Do you recommend sanding it down before doing the second method with chalk paint? Or will the chalk paint hide all the imperfections? Thank you in advance!

      The chalk paint should hide the imperfections, but be careful where you sand and distress if there is a spot you don't want showing through the chalk paint!

    Can you paint over stained wood that has a finish?

      You would likely need to lightly sand off any top coat before whitewashing, the finish will last longer.

    Will it work on varnished wood or do you have to strip it first?

    If you whitewash it what is ratio for water to paint

    I liked the second method a lot! But what if the furniture you’re trying to distress is already white?? Do I paint it black then paint it white again? Or just do the sandpaper method?

      If it is already painted white, then when you distress the paint with the sandpaper it will allow some of the original wood finish to show through! So I would just do the sandpaper method.

    This is a very helpful video, especially for me. I'm very intimidated to sand my wood furniture but love the weathered look, and my end tables are in desperate need. Question, will drinks leave rings on the furniture completing the weathered look? This is the reason why my furniture needs redoing in the first place. Coasters work great but only when used :( Thank you Angela!

      I would recommend adding a coat of polyurethane on top to prevent water rings from leaving marks! Otherwise yes, it will leave a ring.

    I love the first way! For your kitchen table, did you use a sealant if so what kind after using the latex paint?

    • @AngelaMarieMade
      @AngelaMarieMade  Год назад

      I used a water based polyurethane in a satin finish!

    With the first method, do you have to let it dry between layers?
