I discovered Ana's great playing when I first watched this video, but I also discovered Pierre Bensusan. Along with being an incredible player, Pierre's compositions are very rich with harmonies and intricate lines run throughout. I feel like I'm listening to an orchestra or a pianist when I listen to him playing one of his compositions. There's so much going on. This is in standard tuning, but I understand he's playing DADGAD exclusively now. My favourite song by him right now is Nefertari.

Ana is one of those few artists that come in our lifetime. Her music comes from her heart and soul. What a truly remarkable musician.
Not her music though. She's certainly a skilled guitar player but, as far as i know, not a composer. Pierre Bensusan who composed this song is both a masterful guitar player as well as an exceptional composer. I sure hope her covering his song will help him get more exposure because he truly is a hidden gem.
Just imagine, for a moment, a world in which a devotion to pursuits such as this is the highest goal; where a person like this replaces all of the politicians and movie stars in our hierarchy of honor.
It was a thrill to be able to meet Ana this summer after her concert in Boulder. She is friendly and personable as well as amazingly talented. Seeing her live in concert is even better than her recordings!
Her technique is out-of-this-world perfect!!!

My school paid for me to see Bensusan last saturday (spokane).
Ana and he are two of the greatest guitarists in the world in their respective styles.
But seeing this video is like contemplating time squared.
Simply mindblowing.
The thing about Bensusans performances, if that he nevers plays anything the same. Ever.
Roughly a third to a half of his live shows are improvised on the spot.
And that's what makes him amazing.
She really got to the heart of this very difficult but haunting piece by Pierre Bensusan.

This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard or seen, and I play mostly rock and heavy metal. I have always appreciated classical guitar and this is second to nothing I have ever witnessed! You Ana are truly blessed.
She's wonderful. You should check out Pierre Bensusan, who wrote and performed this piece. He's incredible and it's great that Ana chose one of his pieces. His CD Altiplanos that this came from is great, as is Intuite. I also love Solilai from the early 80s when he was first starting out....I've been listening to that one since then and still am.

Play with heart and the technical side will just become a part of your journey. You don't have to be a perfect technical guitarist to reach through and grab someones soul by the throat - if it's sincere and honest and shows effort and talent (or skill) it's a winner. We can't all be young, good looking and sing Bieber songs but we all have heart.

Mr. Bensusan should be just elevated by the fact Ana elected his peice to play.Much as i love his eclectic style, she really adds warmth,style,grace,and, she looks like she is really enjoying herself here. Artist like Ana Vidovic make being stuck in this psychotic,chaotic world,enlighting even joyful . P.S. Must be something in Croation waters to allow creativity to grow to this level,dont you think?
The guitar has got to be one of the most difficult instruments to play at this level. There is so much going on: finger coordination, harmonics, touch on both hands, harmonic complexity, dynamics etc.
So beautiful....and the song is beautiful too.

If you don't like hairs standing to attention and hyperbole, then this is best avoided. Very human skills and fallibility blended to produce sublime and breathtaking piece. It took me a full thirty seconds before I could break silence by breathing at the end of this beautiful rendition.

One thing I've always liked about her, besides her great technique, beautiful tone, and soulful interpretations, is her diverse selection of music. She can go from performing a classical guitar standard like Recuerdos de la Alhambra to playing Yesterday by The Beatles, to playing works by contemporary composers.
She is definitely one of my favorite classical guitarists as she continues to impress me.

I saw this on my sweet friend Kumhui's channel featured there and I just love the beautiful music Ana makes on her guitars,I love classical,I always wished I could do that but never could,it's a rare talent to have. :) It's just wonderful pretty guitar music that's relaxing & sweet on the ears.
