G37 Chrome Window Trim Delete!

- The G is back! One thing I've been wanting to do for a while is get rid of all the chrome on the G. I think chrome should be saved for classic muscle cars, not modern cars. So, the easiest place to start was the window trim! I picked up some 3m gloss black vinyl and decided to give it a try. It came out surprisingly well and I can't wait to get rid of all the other chrome. I don't have much experience with vinyl but I hope this video gives you a decent idea about how to go about doing this. The link below contains the measurements for the vinyl pieces.

Great video, I am definitely going to attempt to do this on my own. I've been quoted anywhere from 400, all the way to 700 dollars to get that done, which is insanity in my opinion.

I completely agree, which is why I would never pay that much for it. But I'm not above trying this myself, which looks kinda fun, and hopefully, I can pull this off.

Oh, I'm not planning on doing the roof, but I am going to try the trim for sure.
D.M. Vakhlis as far as what you were quoted for having a shop apply the vinyl for the chrome, I was quoted around the same. $375 to $450. Hell no I'm not paying twice what it costs for window tint for a small amount of chrome!
If you're willing enough, you can try vinyl wrapping the grille. A really long and hard process. Took me two tries but it was totally worth it for me.
ctng37 I got lucky enough to buy someone else's that was wrapped for 106 bucks. But yeah it looks like a long hard process.
That looks so much better! Have you thought about wrapping your roof in a gloss black? I did it on my G (same color as yours) it looks really good
Hey Man, Awesome job. I thought you would have done this a long time ago. I'm not a chrome lover myself but I do like them on older cars as well. I have done a gloss black myself, I have also done the door pillar trim to match the body paint so that way it's is broken up. I like it and it makes the car stand out. I've also done painted the gille gloss black and the emblem with the fog light shrods I painted AY3 Red. I have a black, gray and red theme going. Looks great man. Keep my twin car looking good lol. Take it easy

Nice video! I have chrome delete on my G entirely except the fog light housing since it is so small and hard to really notice (or at least enough to bother me)
VQ3713 What did you use to clean the chrome with before applying the 3m vinyl tape? Aside from denatured alcohol.
Give it a quick plasti dip spray. Takes 2 minutes to delete that little bit of chrome on the fog lights
been thinking on doing this to my G as well.
Would you spray or warp the back lettering/logo on the trunk??

any suggestions for steering wheel/door button panel peeling? 07-10 models I think have this issue. I know mine does.. I've seen people repaint them but I wanna know if its wrappable.. and how that holds up over time

Grille is still chrome (unfortunately). I want to black it out soon and and color match the emblem. My trunk has the factory color matched spoiler.

Also what size wrap did you get?
I got a 5ft by 3ft on amazon. Way more than you'll ever need but it was just an extra 50 cents when I bought it.

Hey man I just got a 2013 g37 and my b pillars have chrome trim and I absolutely hate it. Do you know if Infiniti does the chrome b pillars stock or do you think they are add ons I can just peel off? I’ll wrap it if I have to but if I could just pull them off it would be a lot easier.
probably one of the cheap kits from ebay, you can probably pull it off or use fishing line to saw it off

Can someone please tell me why this shit is so expensive???I dont know the usual price i was thinking no more than 100 bucks considering its a fast and easy job BUT I asked in tinting shop how much would they take for trim delete in my camry and he said $2000 ....are you out of your fucking mind??? and he said that the car will be at least 2 days in the shop WTF???why they trying to rip someone for 2k dollars for such an easy job i don't get it seriously all windows tint is avg 300 and something like a window chrome trim delete is 2k??? this is ridiculous!!!

10:22 That Top Curve Was Actually the Easiest to do, You Removed the Adhesive at the wrong spot should of been the top of the Window Not the Bottom of the curve, That created more work

I paid 100 $ for the edge only on my 2013 g37x , the center grille comes black from factory .
