It's weird how this song can make you cry and bring peace to you at the same time. I guess this is how perfect performance sounds...
Their voices are so complimentary. Sara's is smooth and rich and soulful like dark chocolate, and Ingrid's voice is lighter and daintier, like marshmallow. Put them together and you get something truly special.

Sara Bareilles is a completely underrated songwriter. She amazes me and not enough people know about her talent. And to see her perform this with the wonderfully talented Ingrid Michaelson is just icing on this delicious musical cake! Love this song. Even Obama couldn't help but crack a smile. His kids looked bored and uninterested in the beginning, but at the end they them couldn't stop smiling.
They're not bored--Malia is a huge fan of Sara's and one of the reasons she's been invited to the White House several times.
They wrote the song together.
when I was last homeless i camped out and was welcome to listen to this concert from a brief faint distance. there is nothing like life to be ethereal!

I would love to believe these two are friends. I am also incredibly impressed that their voices sounded so well in the cold. Ingrid's nose is almost purple!!
They are, in fact, quite good friends. Especially now that Sara has moved to NYC, so they're in the same town. They each attended each other's concerts (and tweeted about it) in the past month.
