The Indigenous people were truly the stewards of this land, and the use of TEK can help us heal many traumas caused by the European invasion. I hope that this will be incorporated and used to benefit the land management processes; we can't throw thousands of years of land management experience away. Our future literally depends on how well we can play with others.
Interesting video. Given the certain circumstances, I think a combination of TEK and western science would be the ideal solution for management and policy. Choosing one or the other will always cause conflict, a two-eyed seeing approach seems to be the ideal solution, given our multi-cultured world.
