Little did Josh and Trevor know, they made a grave mcsteak...
go sit in the corner
Yes
and made a gravy beefsteak
No. Stop.
This made me laugh much more than it was supposed to
trevors lankyness combined with josh' looks gets you surprisingly close to napoleon dynamite
😱😱 omigod genius! Just get ‘em a perm to create a good Fro and *chefs kiss*
😂 oh goodness! I can’t with you! 🤣
I can see that.
I cant unsee it now🤣🤣
Lankiness*
McDonald's employee: hi welcome to McDonald's what can i get for you?
Josh: just a cup of onions, thanks
McD employee: sorry what?
Josh: did I stutter?
McD employee: *visibly shaking* yes sir, one cup of onions
It's the MacDonald's near mythical; they're used to Josh wandering in with unusual requests.
@@fett0042 you know they have to have a pool with bets on what he wants each time ..
i work at mcdonalds and we get people asking for cups of ingredients all the time, the most common is pickles
@@RollMeAFat1 how do you price it? I'd love some McD's pickles!
@@TracyKMainwaring me too
Anyone notice when the food processor started making noise and Trevor got scared then Josh stood in front of it to protect him? Fatherly love right there. Then gets an ass slap. Epic.
More like an older brother haha, but I get your point
so cuuute I love these guys
I imagine freezing the onions in ice cube tray would be easy way to make them same size/shape.
Im 100% sure that if josh saw this comment he was FURIOUS that he didn’t think of this 😂
I dunno if Josh is the guy in the Tumblr post about "more milk per milk" or if he found that post and is referencing it, but I am 100% willing to believe either/both.
I don’t know about that but I bet he does it
Josh for sure is on Tumblr.
It's full of his kind of silly and nonsequitur humour.
I came here wondering if anyone else has that epiphany.
Trevor's whole life flashed before his eyes when he learned A1 has raisins in it.
I love how Trevor just takes things out of Josh's hand and gives him something else and Josh doesn't seem to notice.
I often forget how young Trevor is, but Josh doesn't let me forget
Honestly I forget how OLD Josh is
Josh isn't even 30 yet! He's way younger than I thought.
Josh did tell us it was very important to remember "Trevor is baby"
I'm 36 and they both make me feel like a grandma.
Trevor has imprinted onto Josh and now they will be one soon enough
when they become the beast with two backs
@@tron-8140 i'd watch that tbh,, but i wouldn't pay for it lmao,,
Trosh
I read your comment out loud and my roommate just casually went "Oh they actually got together". My stomach now hurts from laughing too much XD
This video in a nutshell:
Trevor: Why do you have to lie to people?
Josh: No, it’s like…
josh is right you know.
josh taking the "more milk per milk" joke from twitter makes me wonder how many of his insane one-liners are things he's just absorbed through internet osmosis... im not even mad its actually fascinating
ENTPs are the internet if it was a person.
Either that or he's the roommate that the op was talking about
@@Garfeldi820 that feels very possible lol
✨✨✨internet osmosis✨✨✨ 😂
Trevor replying to Josh’s ingredients: a series of soft “yeah’s”
Trevor replying if he is going to put the questionable beef patties back in the oven: shaky, unsure “yeah!”
Watching Trevor cut a steak: tell me you’re a baker without telling me you’re a baker
From all the laughing that could be heard off camera, I really do envy Nicole the amusement she can get at work.
I bet they have a waiting list at mythical because who doesn´t want to sit in on a Josh recording
Trevor going into that little "yeah" loop got me. "Please god I'll say anything if it keeps this mad man from losing his gourd"
Thank you Josh for making me feel ancient. I was not only out of high school in 79, I was out of college, in my 1st apartment without roommates, and setting out in my career (which had zero to do with my college studies....)
(Almost) same here. Born in ‘79. Trevor: “But that was 130 years ago!” Like damn man…my back hurts enough, no need to make it worse.
40 is the new 80, sorry y'all,, :')
(i'm almost 30 so i'm not judging lol,, i'm catching up,,)
Honestly I’m just jealous you were already on your way to proper adulthood 😂 millennium problems amiright? Oh ok
Where you a business woman enjoying a mcsteak?
I really want to see Josh's interview for this job.
He walked in with a pint of blood and a to go box of brains
they actually scouted him way back. He used to do a cooking shorts show (basically cooking tik-tok before tik-tok) and they liked what he did and brought him on to cook for an episode. And after Rhett and Link tasted what he did they just hired him full time
“40 years ago”
Me: oh, so they’re doing something from the early 60s
*from 1979*
Me: oh god how old am I
I hope Josh's parents are proud of what they've done. Sincerely.
I just want you know I have to have you done this before you so you know I don’t have to do it I just don’t
@@kylabasbaum5170 bro what
@@thehumanzen5523 exactly
For a brief time in the 80s McDonald's had an Italian menu. They had things like spaghetti, pizza and veal parmesan sandwiches. Because I'm not remotely Italian and I was a child at the time I really liked their pizza.
I heard there’s a McDonald’s somewhere that still sells pizza. Forgot where though
veal parm sandwich sounds like it came from hell 🤢 lol
@@lirpaneerg1621 from McDonald's maybe, a home made one sounds amazing.
@@SmokeyTheBandit lmao noooooo thanksss
Apparently Mcdonalds in the Philippines serves spaghetti
I've never felt more old than I have listening to them talk about how long ago 1979 was.
Trevor slowly turning into Josh and I'm here for it 😂
Watching Josh seriously consider scratching his nose with the business end of the knife is the most alive I've felt all year.
I adore Josh indiscriminately, but bring Trevor in and I’m down no matter what.
Can I watch?👀
@@socalraider4life Sir….. that is a youngster.
@@Meiabell bruh he’s like 21 XD
I'd imagine using a piping bag would be a good way to get even dollops of onions.
I would imagine that they had some sort of binder in them to help hold their shape as well.
“Onion nuggets” somehow seems “Genius!”, “Obvious” and “Terrible” all at once.
Now I’m all hungry.
Well in 50's cooking people made fritters out of everything, it was like a clear out the fridge recipe.
Just stuff in batter and deep fired.
So this makes sense in that way.
I remember McD's serving those onion nuggets in the mid to late 90's in Canada as a limited time promotional offer, they tasted exactly like bite sized onion rings.
'90s
@@englishatheart dude it's a comment on a RUclips video, it really isn't that important lol
I think freezing the onion in an icecube tray would also work.
Oh, good idea!
@@mollyscozykitchen4693 thank you lol
Oh browning. In Denmark we call it sauce colour.
Sauce kulør. Every kitchen has a bottle which was bought in the early eighties.
Actually I use to be a grill man at McDonald's and we all know Josh is being ironic but just in case someone didn't get it mc ribs are cooked on the grill before being soaked in the rib sauce
Same with the chopped beefsteak sammich.
Nice to see someone else who's been in the trenches. Flaunt them Flat Top scars bro.
@@babbiification Dude. I was a McGrill guy for over 10 years. I made everything from the hamburger to the Arch Deluxe and back again. And yes, I have scars to prove it.
That isn't what "ironic" means.
@@englishatheart True. Ironic is more like a free ride when you've already paid. Or the good advice that you just didn't take.
Mcstake sounds so close to mistake, and it's perfect
8:15 Trevor's scream and 11:57 when they open the oven and the cabinet gets moist are two of my favorite parts.
Why was Josh’s neck muscles straining while he said “Do it” more disconcerting than the wet “beef” sandwich
We will be watching his career with great interest.
Trevor sounding like a broken video game character: "yeah. yeah. yeah. yeah."
I loved Trevor's little girl scream at 8:14 of the video.
Im in shock... Eating anything resembling a McRib without Rhett is treason.
Sweaty Beef & Exploding Goo were my local morning radio DJs.
Sometimes I feel like Trevor is the babysitter 😂
I'm now 54 and my memory of onion nuggets isn't great, you can eat a few but all that onion becomes too much very quickly
I was about to say what about White Castle burgers because they have so much onion, but they also have the beef. Then I thought Bloomin' Onion, but that likely has a better quality onion, so... I'd say that's probably fair.
I eat plain cooked onions there's never enough onions. Lol unless they are raw.
@@spicybeantofu Well, these nuggets were likely made from McDonald's dehydrated onions. Not the best onions by a long shot.
@@spicybeantofu there are never enough onions cooked or raw
Teach us of the ancient times, elder one!
It’s so nice seeing Josh not being uncomfortable with people touching him, he’s evolving~
I really relate to Trevor's hatred of raisins o.o
Josh after pirate talk: "never seen her"
Me: "Schooner? I hardly know'er"
Me, deathly allergic to onions: Abomination! You’ve made an abomination! …but I still want to see how.
I was really struggling with the idea that Trevor was somehow about 25 years younger than Josh and had a solid crisis about it.
It's more like seven. I had to look it up so it wouldn't haunt me.
New show idea: Fancy Past Food
You mix past food and fancy fast food to make expensive versions of meals from fast food restaurants of which are no longer on the menu
This is my go to hangover RUclips. It's simultaneously so chill and so chaotic
you are off by a decade, the Beatles broke up in 69/70 (the last time they all recorded together was in 69, the "official" announcement was in 70).
What kind of drink would you like?
Josh: ONION!
Ah yes... Onion Nuggets..
Rhett and Link tried this with fried apple pie, beef tallow fries, and mclobster.
It’s nice to have Josh and the Mythical Kitchen team here when GMM is on a break, made my morning!
I've never had McD's Onion Nuggets, and I was in college in 1979. They must not have had them everywhere. Same with the Beefsteak Sandwich. BTW, I love hearing Josh share his wisdom on getting old.
I Learned That lil fun fact about cows and onions on an episode of Berenstein bears 😭😂

Team Berenstein! 🙃
Trevor and Josh you guys are holding me over this week and giving us all the dose of mythically we need!
Totally missed out not having Rhett bust in as josh said McRib and steal the sandwich. And then berate Trevor for not liking the McRib
Peas Porridge is what Josh was talking about. Although there are many cultures that had similar foods. That's where the poem comes from. - "Peas Porridge hot, Peas Porridge cold, Peas Porridge in the pot nine days old."
no he was talking about perpetual stew
Josh's "Do it" really also appeals to the Game Grumps fan in me
Instead of adding water to the steak, maybe add beef broth.
Water's cheaper...
This is my favorite content from Mythical Kitchen! Trevor and Josh are so chaotic, and they really help pass the time when I cook.
12:45 - Trevor's reaction to smelling the sauce that's supposed to make the meat taste good is priceless
I love how you can hear Nicole just laughing in the background.
Me: 2+2= 4
Trevor: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah YEAH yeah
Thank you guys so much for making content. I'm sure I'm not the only person you're helping through a hard time. Idk what I would do if I couldn't watch yours and others videos everyday. Thank you guys
8:15 can we please get a 10 min loop of Trevor screaming? XD
There's a problem with Josh's "McNugget" statement. Chicken Nuggets were already a thing as they were first created in 1963 - but he did not patent them, instead he mailed how to make them to various food manufacturers. Keystone Foods created the first marketable chicken nugget in the 1970s and McD's head chef came up with the Chicken McNugget recipe. They initially ran into supply issues because every franchisee wanted them by 1983. I think somewhere alogn the way, Tyson became the defacto supplier to McDs - but not 100% sure.
"It's msg I'm not stupid" -tastes it anyway
I love these fast food specials about cryptid food products. And I seriously love Josh and Trevor's energy together!
Really enjoying that Josh had Trevor put the lid on the food processor both times lol. So slick I almost didn't catch it, but josh fumbling with the lid always makes me laugh because I can't put it on either.
As a lover of onions and a non eater of meat, I would love if they brought back those nuggets
"Michael, I think I've made a big big McSteak"
Pre Covid McDs still sold the steak bagel which used one of these processed "steaks" the meat is most likely just rough chopped beef bonded with Transglutaminase (meat glue) not corn starch. You can find these steaks still in the freezer section of your discount stores, usually individual packed "filets" for a stupid cheap price.
The thing I love about McDonalds is that the onions they use for their $1 burgers are dehydrated onion flakes that they rehydrate in water.
I worked at McDonald's for 4 years none of their meats are cooked in the oven they are grilled or deep fried.
I believe josh meant the preparation process in the factories
Well yeah all it is, is reheating food premade and then frozen. I worked there too.
@@spicybeantofu we reheat the baked goods and stuff, but the meat comes raw
Finallyyyyyy, god I can’t wait to try and make this one (providing it’s possible lmao)
Trevor and Josh are pure chaos and I love it
I’ve waited about four years for this onion nugget recipe. I’m so happy.
Just realized I’m older then both Josh and Trevor.
3:16 Uncle Roger would approve.
I had a steak sandwich recently. It had a porterhouse steak (minute steak thickness), lettuce (on the bottom), streaky bacon, aioli sauce on a toasted Turkish bread roll. With a side of crispy chips (thick cut) (fries if you're American), the chips/fries were served in a dinky fry basket.
13:19 Perpetual Stew. There was one in Perpignan France that was maintained from the 15th century to WWII
Glad to see these onion bites would be Uncle Rodger approved. That’s something, at least
XD
It could probably have a market as a McPhilly Cheesesteak.
*Philly McCheesesteak. The foods are "Mc'd"
Can’t stop won’t stop. Loving the channel 👏
fun fact from a former mcdonalds employee... the way that we cooked most things is on the flattop grill that had a mechanism that came down that cooked the meat on both sides. so chances are with this mcSteak it was cooked with the same method then glazed on the assembly table.
It takes a lot to stand with Rhett and Link and Josh fits right in.
We have a local chip truck that sells onion nuggets. Bomb!
Bring back the McDonalds Fajitas! I loved them in the early 90s when i was a wee lad in Alaska
And the original chicken snack wraps,
The grill marks and rib shape on the McRib are formed into the patty from the factory. But it is cooked on the flat top grill, then put into a heater tray that's filled with BBQ sauce.
So it's called browning in english, here in Norway we call it sugarcolouring. It was changed some years ago, at that time it was called... Let's just say, spanish for black...
What are you afraid of? Spanish for "black" is "negro".
@@Vladimir_Kv Not afraid, just respectful. It's well known that it has been used as a racist slur. (Hence the name change)
Norway have had a few less than favorable food brand names.
Worst of them all being what is now called Toro seasonings. They used to be called black boy, with a blackface logo. Toro bought them and changed the whole brand thankfully.
@Vermula I was not aware that they changed the name of the browning. I've only heard it being refered to as sukkerkulør
dinner menu. interesting. imagine "all day dinner menu"
Travor trying hard not to aspirate his McSteak while JAsh chants “do it” is priceless
Oh HELL yes, been waiting on a good recipe for these.
When breading food... One hand for wet, one hand for dry... No clumpy fingers!
Not gonna lie, I kind of want them to resurrect the onion bites so I can try them now
Try Burger King's onion rings. Essentially the same concept, just in a ring shape; they don't use whole onions for their rings.
@@spencermerritt3891 Oh thanks!! my family never had BK much growing up so I don't think to go there often, but I'm definitely gonna have to go try their rings now!
I loved this episode of Mythical Kitchen! You guys are my favorite RUclips channel! Don't tell Rhett and Link, haha. Keep it up!
I love this series so much
"Neither of us were around in 1979."
I feel attacked; was born in 1979.
I graduated from high school in 1979. Am I too old for this show?
I've just realised that Josh is 2-3 years younger than me and I'm horrified...
Love the discontinued remake videos😂❤️. PAST FOOODDDD
Those onion nuggets came back briefly in the early 90’s here in Ontario Canada and I loved them. SO light and airy and tasty. Miss them!
