When people take the time to appreciate Beyonce's rendition of Love on Top they will realise how brilliant a singer she is. Many have tried to cover this song but they realise how difficult it is to sing. Keke is good with those runs and occasional screaming😅 but this song slayed her.

She did really well (this song is INCREDIBLY hard to sing on a technical level)..I loved her little inflections (her runs are always on point)..Although I do find it a bit interesting that even Keke being a true lyric soprano and Beyonce being a mezzo, technically Keke should have a higher tessitura (her voice just naturally sits a bit higher than Beyonce's..)while compared to Beyonce's version, Keke's belting placement is a bit "thin"..She sounded a bit stringy here, as I can imagine how hard it is to maintain fullness and vibrancy while phrasing whole sentences at the top of the staff loll..Amazing how Beyonce with a biologically lower voice type has more ease and freedom phrasing in the 5th octave than a lyric soprano..There is something truly something special about Beyonce's technique and vocal prowess that just puts her on a different pedestal..Her training is super wicked man..
Keke did amazing here (as always) but Beyonce's core support is much stronger so she's a lot more resonant with a more even scale..Keke was slightly underpitched causing some intonation issues..Loved it, though!
Yep that surprised me too seeing Keke struggle with those key changes. As you put it, Keke, being the lyric soprano, should have ATE those parts up.Getting into the upper register is where her voice lives and blossoms at. When you see a vocal beast like Keke struggle a bit on this cover, makes you appreciate the virtuoso that is Beyoncé Giselle Knowles.
