Watching this video was similar to watching water flowing down a stream. Fluidity is such a beautiful thing to observe. Many thanks for creating such videos. I myself have been studying Aikido since Sept 15, I successfully graded to 7th Kyu in Dec 15. My sister and nephew gifted me with 4 mats this Christmas. Watching your videos have assisted me with my Ukemi greatly. I plan on ordering another 8 mats to expand my training within the art. This has become my "go to" channel for Ukemi and insights. Many thanks. Peace always Sensei :)
I've been struggling with my flips and greatly appreciate your efforts in sharing your knowledge on this and many other topics....God Bless and keep it up....:)
Willy Krawczyk Hey, we took some time, but here is your requested tutorial: ruclips.net/video/LoAqwvTg-WI/видео.html Let me know what you think and if you have any other ideas
Hello again Sensei. So refreshing to watch your technique. I have much to learn from you. Might I ask where is your dojo? I would like to come train with you sometime this year and am often traveling.
+Rome Hello again, It would be great to have you here! My Dojo is in Lithuania (Baltic States), please do let me know if you will be around. We also have accommodations in the Dojo in case you would come to need it
nice job, will try the ushiro tachi and suwari waza ukemi. Although I am a bit afraid in case of a crowded mat I might kick somebody in the face accidently. Ever happened to you?
+Samaro Karsters It never really happened either to me or to any of my friends and students. Usually by the time you master the high fall, you also have great skills in environment awareness, so that's one good reason it doesn't happen, since you are aware of the space around you and choose whether to do it, or to switch to another fall. Also the fall doesn't take so much space, so that makes it much safer too. Let me know if you have questions while learning it
I would really appreciate if you could add a transcript or something to this video? I had a lot of trouble hearing the instruction. Besides that this was a wonderful and helpful video.
Thanks for your feedback. I'll add your request to the list, it's just that it might take quite some time to reach this. The video was one of our very first ones so the quality is quite poor, I agree. Will do my best to look into it
How do avoid getting dizzy with all these ukemi. My grandaughter who is 7 years old always complain s about the dizziness when she does more than 3 rolls continuously? The dizziness happens when she executes the forward rolls. Please advise; thanks.
It becomes better with practice. But you can also advice her to look as long as possible at a single point in front of her as she rolls and to do small breaks in between different rolls. That should help her loose the dizziness. Good luck!
Gerardo deGuzman Before she rolls, let her choose a point to look at and try to look at and as soon as she finishes rolling, let her look at the same point again
So I do traditional ju jitsu and today we were doing some breakfalls. One was basically a highfall where we were stood up and one hand was holding onto my partners belt which I had to hold on to for support. Basically I had to do a forward roll breakfall on to my side on the ground. I failed and let go, landing on my neck mid air and my whole body collapsed on my neck. My whole neck, spine and rib cage just went and I was quite winded. I've been hurting soooo bad all day today fml. I now hate that breakfall.
+Kewl Dude It's really hard to practice these types of movements after you get hurt. Usually afterwards you need to do it very gradually so that the mind would adjust again. But it's possible. Also, it's probably best that your partner holds you, so that you wouldn't let go yourself, like it's explained in this video
AikidoSiauliai My left hand was on his shoulder and his left hand was blocking his face. I was told to try kicking that hand. And yeah, I think next time we do that breakfall, I'm gonna be alot more nervous. Hopefully I can pick it up better next time. I'm a yellow belt atm (7th kyu I think) so hopefully I shouldn't be worried that I'm lacking because I was told that we were doing slightly more advanced breakfalls. However, the pain in my body isn't as bad as it was yesterday, so I'm glad to think I don't have anything serious. I was reading thing and getting scared that I may have messed up my spine lol but I feel less worried now :D
***** Reading about diagnoses on internet is a dangerous thing, because you start thinking that you have every single thing out there ;) You can try the falls explained here, specially ones with the partner, they are more safe comparably to most other ways of learning
With all due respect, Sensei, I'd have to say that tucking the hakama up like a giant black diaper is just about the worst dojo fashion faux pas there is. Surpassed only by the late Merritt Stevens Sensei's habit of doing it while wearing only short shorts under the hakama. What does work well for demos where the calves or feet need to be visible and/or unencumbered is to take an old pair of gi pants and hem them just a few inches below the knee, tightening up the hem as needed in the process to keep them from belling out too much. I've also seen a few short-sleeved gi jackets being used for aikido, particularly when training judoka, to break the habit of going for the sleeve instead of the wrist, as well as making subtle movements of the arm visible in teaching.

Thank you Sir.

I have got problem with ukemi for koshinage as my balls got shock or landed on my side knees or on flat foot
There is a short tutorial here how you can do it. It's actually very simple and effective: ruclips.net/video/MYrgGnVYNW8/видео.html
I would really appreciate if you could add a transcript or something to this video? I had a lot of trouble hearing the instruction.

excellent.
Interesting, I know Aikido 🥋 is not really effective but that backward roll pushup could be?
Aikido ukemi can be very useful
So smoooooth!!!
+Clare Din Thank you :)

I will try that. Thank you for the suggestion.

It's really hard to do Ukemi.. after I show your video seems easy to do
Sometimes it takes specific knowledge and then it becomes much more simple :)
this was 7 years ago

Gay video for a gay style. If karate is the Dane Cook of martial arts, Aikido is the Richard Simmons.
I'd that a woman?
Hey hello...i really like the way yoy practice..i would like to partecipate to a stage of yours...could you please give me your personal contact?
