Thoma as a shielder also gained considerable viability with Wanderer, who appreciates the pyro res w/ Bennett, using plenty of normal attacks to stack his shield, and makes good use of Thoma's C6.
I'd argue Noelle's been buffed more than Jean has. Not only with Furina, but also Itto's artifacts and claymore buffed her too. Also I like her very much
the GT set also indirectly buffs her because her best parties used off field DPS like Fischl and Albedo, Chiori and Navia are both new top tier sub dps for her too and Noelle can use MH with Furina

I'd argue Barbara also saw a massive buff when Nilou was released. Just like with Kokomi, she could help spawn bountiful cores and heal through any damage you take for exploding them. Her team-wide heal helps make Nilou bloom an unkillable team.

Yae was upper-mid tier from launch, and while she's only gotten better, most of that was planned and clearly the original intent (e.g. her scaling off EM when she was released like 2 patches from Sumeru), rather than her being buffed by more emergent properties.

Cyno is honestly in the same boat as Xiao, he’s gotten multiple teammate options since his release like Nahida, furina, baizhu and maybe even Emilie since she can keep up with his field time. Who knows maybe even the pyro archon will benefit him
Cyno has multiple team options yes but he hasn't gotten a fixed comfortable team yet like xiao. With furina Baizhu and Nahida only him can really use a weapon out of the favonius series. To deal with the energy needs it feels like he wants an electro character like kuki maybe. For dendro someone that applies enough like Nahida or the traveler, and someone who will apply hydro... With all this you still need interruption res and healing for it to be comfortable he doesn't have a team with all this

His team is Cyno + hydro + Nahida + Baizhu. Baizhu covers interruption resistance and heals + dendro application, nahida covers em buff and dendro application, hydro unit covers hyperbloom generation.
If he ever gets an off-field dendro applier that isn't dendro traveler, he would get so much better. Cyno has a long burst duration where if you switch off too early, you lose a lot of damage. Nahida is the best dendro applier, but she needs to be refreshed on every enemy wave spawn. This has anti-synergy with cyno. Xiao has gotten teammates that have amazing synergy with him, so I wouldn't really say Cyno is one of the most buffed characters in the game.
The only thing I have to say is why wasn’t cyno here? He got nahida and baizhu to give him enough dendro application and furina to buff the full duration of his ult
I think it’s cause he was created with the intention of being used with nahida and baizhu, while the characters mentioned got indirectly buffed as it may not have been the devs original intention. Everyone knew Cyno was meant to be for dendro but at the time there weren’t enough dendro characters out yet, but it was still acknowledged that he needs more dendro

Idk if childe is actually underused. Internat is still everywhere despite the AoE competition. Mona for sure needs a glow up. I heard Mualani seems like someone who can make use of mona's buffs due to her nukey playstyle, Candace has received a pretty decent glow up post arle it would be nice to see more who can make use of candance. I think Ayato needs to have a team where he's BiS.
There's a world where it'll happen, but I don't think that's this one. If they were gonna make Dehya make sense, they would've either done it with a patch or an artifact set within a couple version updates. Anything that buffs her now is largely incidental.
I always believed in Kuki since release, and immediately invested my resin in her. Mostly for her infinite AoE electro damage plus healing, you got 2 roles in one character, it just needed some new mechanic/character to shine.
didn't all HP scaling units before 3.0 get buffed too? Notably Hu Tao, Yelan, and Kokomi got some damage and healing buffs due to the Hydro Resonance change in version 3.0 that changed it from 30% incoming healing bonus to 25% max HP
It’s worth noting Thoma became a valuable shielder for teams where application doesn’t matter too - burning teams are on the rise, and he works in all variants of mono-pyro and its substitutes (so true mono, traditional pyro + geo/ anemo, chevreuse overload, and again burning, since you can drop a dendro character into a mono team like lyney’s without messing up the pyro aura). Also now that burning is getting a couple of units with emilie and kinich, it’s less detrimental if the enemy ends up burning in a burgeon team with these characters, so a slow hydro/ fast pyro team with only occasional burgeons is also being buffed, closing the gap with electro’s quickbloom teams. Having a new pyro dps who can’t be healed and an electro character who can’t afford to be interrupted in a short damage window really specifically appreciate Thoma in the above archetypes too (especially with his normal attack buff, which they both use) His only sort of downside is the competition in the same area, between dehya, c4 yanfei, and xinyan (none of which require normals to stack shield/ interruption res), and pyro buffers including healers like Bennett/ chevreuse possibly reducing the need for another sustain. Pyro became weirdly tanky.
Furina's release was a major buff to a LOT of folks. Between her basically giving any and all on-fielders an option to run Marechausee (which is Blizzard Strayer that works on unfreezeable enemies ie. bosses) and the introduction of Song of Days Past (budget Shenhe but you can run it on a Healer), I'd argue Aloy is the most buffed character of the Fontaine cycle. 'coz y'all weren't playing her before but she's a lot more than decent now.

Honestly, I think zhongli might be buffed further in the future. Seeing as how furina rewards us for having healer in the team, we will probably get a unit that buffs us on basis of not getting hit in combat aka shielding.
Zhongli's placement on this list is reaaalllly weird. This ENTIRE video was about things outside of the character that made the character stronger and then we have zhongli who was literally just buffed like it was a league of legends patch... kind of odd

Noelle got Husk, Redhorn, Gorou, Yelan, Navia as quickswap DPS/battery with Golden Troupe which she can use along Fischl and Albedo plus Chiori as well and finally Furina and MH on top. At this point her parties can perform at a very high level dishing big numbers while being more versatile, sturdy and reliable than most parties can dream. That's a lot of buffs

I think 2 that you missed (even if only just honorable mentions) would be Sucrose, with the mechanics buff for swirl (all transformative reactions really) in 1.6, and Fischl, who has gotten buffs in so many ways, including dendro, the golden troupe set, and also the electrocharged reaction buff as part of the 1.6 EM overhaul.
You forgot Xiao literally got a new artifact set for him to make him stronger well after his release. Also, I join the Dehya copium. But honestly, the day Hoyo gives us a dark skin S tier character, I’m going all in.
Mihoyo introduced Rifthound who can deal damage through your shield. People were confused then next version kokomi (healer) was released players felt like they were manipulated. They created entirely new mechanic to sell kokomi that's why people didn't pull her. It was a protest.
Yae Miko was bought up as an honourable mention due to dendro making her EM scaling much more useful. However, I believe you may have overlooked the release of Golden Troupe giving her a BIG boost in her skill damage. Not only this but because she does not snapshot it is difficult to effectively buff her in a lot of teams but Furina's team wide buff has help her a lot with this as well. I would probably give her a spot in top 10-6.
qiqi shouldve been an honorable mention, because ocean hued pearl set and furina does give her decent bonus, using her on field is not as bad, talismans provide serious overhealing that furina benefits for on her Q
on the topic of Zhongli getting buffed, i saw in the new Survey hoyo asked about specific characters and i think it's diffrent for everyone so maybe they plan on buffing more characters depending on the results
Regarding xiao. We also have the marachoussee hunter. Which he can stack even without furina. It was a competitive set with 4.0. then became better in 4.2 and better in 4.4 Now, I'm pretty sure it's better than vermilion. And who wants to waste all their resources on that useless set (zyox was mentioned)
Fischl. Similar to Yae's reason. She was good before dendro but she's become a prime support/subdps for aggravate teams with her less field time requirements vs yae and her no icd a4 passive that allowed her to aggravate consistently esp when paired with other electro dpss eg: Yae, Clorinde, Cyno, Keqing...
Most of these are not buffs. Releasing good buffers or other characters that make bad designed characters usable doesn't convert them to a good designed characters. So, you have a good buffers, that useful for many cases and a bad designed characters that now can be used in one case.
Member when for a year and a half ccs would frequently try to downplay Zhongli's value just because making shields limits you to three characters that do damage and yet he is still here shielding people to easy clears of all content. I also don't think he'd be in much of a different position if he was not buffed. Most people nowadays barely even notice his res shred and a lot of teams he was used in pre-fontaine had VV users anyway so the res shred wasn't even a major reason to use him.
for me, the 2 most buffed characters (after kuki) were xiangling and hu tao, i mean, 2.x was basically: oh yeah! look at these new stuff, it coincidentally works very well for xiangling too. and hu tao got a bunch of new playstiles over the years, enough to keep her relevant till now (kind of like xiao)
Furina carrying a lot of theses guys, but I think both Fischl and Yae should be on the list, both gained not only Dendro reactions (Yae scale with EM while Keqing don't) both of them got a entire new set with Golden Troupe. Thoma and Kuki should also be mentioned since they are the good options with Chevreuse
I agree. hutao shoud be there as furina and xianyun elevatef her massively. Furina helps dish out more dmg as well draining hutao's hp and xianyun helping hutao with her new great ameplay that isn't hindered by her c0 stamina issue, plunging attack.
Klee, Razor, Dori all seem to be missing from this list Klee used to be a mid unit be she has some decent teams now (outside of speedrunning) with Furina reverse vape. Razor is a very solid driver where he is played wih C6 Bennett, Xingqiu and Nahida or DMC. Dori is a very good Driver at C6 where she can allow Nahida, Fischl and Furina to deal lots of damage due to her insane healing at C6
Surprised to not see Nilou here. Her power went through the roof with the release of Nahida, finally having a consistent off-field dendro applier. On top of that, her C2 can make her blooms crit, which turns her already strong blooms into H-Bombs.
I love how Furina is the only reason why half of these characters were buffed Thats why im a proud C6 Furina main! She's BEST GIRLL! Shes my favorite character gameplay/story/personality wise. And can make any "non-meta" character absolutely strong and viable
Character balance in Genshin and f2p friendliness is actually outstanding compared to all the powercreeping gachas out there. Not only are the 1.0 4* characters meta, other old non meta characters continuously get buffed to maintain viability. Any f2p can clear any content just because of how viable the entire cast is, providing countless ways to play.

Calling Thoma (a housekeeper) the legendary maid instead of the actual maid, Noelle, is mildly infuriating. Also I feel like Noelle should be number 3 and not just an honorable mention: how Furina“buffed all team party healers” in addition to Furina buffing Noelle’s DMG, Noelle getting a dedicated Geo set, redhorn becoming her new BiS weapon, gorou buffing Geo DMG, and if you want, Xianyun buffing her plunge DMG. Noelle has gone from being called the worst character in the game to one of my strongest characters I own. Maybe a slight bias since I’ve been a Noelle main since day one and am past AR60, but we can’t deny she has had a buff after buff as a DPS, not just a team wide healer (Noelle and Furina are the perfect match, one slightly drains HP while the other heals it back up with each hit, and if you spin, that’s very fast healing, on top of her DMG being buffed)
She got so much man. Inazuma gave her Redhorn, Husk and Gorou. She later got Yelan as an off field dps/buffer. Fontaine brought GT to buff Fischl and her new quickswap/off field dps Navia and Chiori plus Furina as her best off field dps/buffer of course and the MH set which she can use now as well. With all that the performance of her parties has only been going up and up.
I think hutao should be an honourable mention she got buffed alot of times just like xiao backinghe fays her best teams usef to be double geo but with the release of yelen she got better and with the release of furina and xianyun she got huge buffs like with xianyun you dont need herc1 itsso much better to play her now❤

There's a world where it'll happen, but I don't think that's this one. If they were gonna make Dehya make sense, they would've either done it with a patch or an artifact set within a couple version updates. Anything that buffs her now is largely incidental.

I always believed in Kuki since release, and immediately invested my resin in her. Mostly for her infinite AoE electro damage plus healing, you got 2 roles in one character, it just needed some new mechanic/character to shine.
didn't all HP scaling units before 3.0 get buffed too? Notably Hu Tao, Yelan, and Kokomi got some damage and healing buffs due to the Hydro Resonance change in version 3.0 that changed it from 30% incoming healing bonus to 25% max HP
It’s worth noting Thoma became a valuable shielder for teams where application doesn’t matter too - burning teams are on the rise, and he works in all variants of mono-pyro and its substitutes (so true mono, traditional pyro + geo/ anemo, chevreuse overload, and again burning, since you can drop a dendro character into a mono team like lyney’s without messing up the pyro aura).
Also now that burning is getting a couple of units with emilie and kinich, it’s less detrimental if the enemy ends up burning in a burgeon team with these characters, so a slow hydro/ fast pyro team with only occasional burgeons is also being buffed, closing the gap with electro’s quickbloom teams.
Having a new pyro dps who can’t be healed and an electro character who can’t afford to be interrupted in a short damage window really specifically appreciate Thoma in the above archetypes too (especially with his normal attack buff, which they both use)
His only sort of downside is the competition in the same area, between dehya, c4 yanfei, and xinyan (none of which require normals to stack shield/ interruption res), and pyro buffers including healers like Bennett/ chevreuse possibly reducing the need for another sustain. Pyro became weirdly tanky.

Furina's release was a major buff to a LOT of folks. Between her basically giving any and all on-fielders an option to run Marechausee (which is Blizzard Strayer that works on unfreezeable enemies ie. bosses) and the introduction of Song of Days Past (budget Shenhe but you can run it on a Healer), I'd argue Aloy is the most buffed character of the Fontaine cycle.

I'd definitely put the amount of buffs he received on top of Kuki, but Zhongli makes sense. Devs literally had to modify his kit post-release.

Honestly, I think zhongli might be buffed further in the future. Seeing as how furina rewards us for having healer in the team, we will probably get a unit that buffs us on basis of not getting hit in combat aka shielding.

Noelle got Husk, Redhorn, Gorou, Yelan, Navia as quickswap DPS/battery with Golden Troupe which she can use along Fischl and Albedo plus Chiori as well and finally Furina and MH on top. At this point her parties can perform at a very high level dishing big numbers while being more versatile, sturdy and reliable than most parties can dream. That's a lot of buffs

It still amazes how they take into consideration how cc-able enemies are whenever they create every single new enemy just because of venti's existence. 😂 Up until now, consecrated beasts and meks are proof that they're still nerfing him.
I think 2 that you missed (even if only just honorable mentions) would be Sucrose, with the mechanics buff for swirl (all transformative reactions really) in 1.6, and Fischl, who has gotten buffs in so many ways, including dendro, the golden troupe set, and also the electrocharged reaction buff as part of the 1.6 EM overhaul.
You forgot Xiao literally got a new artifact set for him to make him stronger well after his release. Also, I join the Dehya copium. But honestly, the day Hoyo gives us a dark skin S tier character, I’m going all in.

Mihoyo introduced Rifthound who can deal damage through your shield. People were confused then next version kokomi (healer) was released players felt like they were manipulated. They created entirely new mechanic to sell kokomi that's why people didn't pull her. It was a protest.
Yae Miko was bought up as an honourable mention due to dendro making her EM scaling much more useful. However, I believe you may have overlooked the release of Golden Troupe giving her a BIG boost in her skill damage. Not only this but because she does not snapshot it is difficult to effectively buff her in a lot of teams but Furina's team wide buff has help her a lot with this as well. I would probably give her a spot in top 10-6.
qiqi shouldve been an honorable mention, because ocean hued pearl set and furina does give her decent bonus, using her on field is not as bad, talismans provide serious overhealing that furina benefits for on her Q

Regarding xiao. We also have the marachoussee hunter. Which he can stack even without furina. It was a competitive set with 4.0. then became better in 4.2 and better in 4.4

Fischl. Similar to Yae's reason. She was good before dendro but she's become a prime support/subdps for aggravate teams with her less field time requirements vs yae and her no icd a4 passive that allowed her to aggravate consistently esp when paired with other electro dpss eg: Yae, Clorinde, Cyno, Keqing...

Most of these are not buffs. Releasing good buffers or other characters that make bad designed characters usable doesn't convert them to a good designed characters. So, you have a good buffers, that useful for many cases and a bad designed characters that now can be used in one case.
Member when for a year and a half ccs would frequently try to downplay Zhongli's value just because making shields limits you to three characters that do damage and yet he is still here shielding people to easy clears of all content. I also don't think he'd be in much of a different position if he was not buffed. Most people nowadays barely even notice his res shred and a lot of teams he was used in pre-fontaine had VV users anyway so the res shred wasn't even a major reason to use him.

for me, the 2 most buffed characters (after kuki) were xiangling and hu tao, i mean, 2.x was basically: oh yeah! look at these new stuff, it coincidentally works very well for xiangling too. and hu tao got a bunch of new playstiles over the years, enough to keep her relevant till now (kind of like xiao)
Keqing's still my main aggravate DPS, although I'd say her biggest buff was the new skin. She looks like a genuine 5-star now!
Furina carrying a lot of theses guys, but I think both Fischl and Yae should be on the list, both gained not only Dendro reactions (Yae scale with EM while Keqing don't) both of them got a entire new set with Golden Troupe. Thoma and Kuki should also be mentioned since they are the good options with Chevreuse

I agree. hutao shoud be there as furina and xianyun elevatef her massively. Furina helps dish out more dmg as well draining hutao's hp and xianyun helping hutao with her new great ameplay that isn't hindered by her c0 stamina issue, plunging attack.

Klee used to be a mid unit be she has some decent teams now (outside of speedrunning) with Furina reverse vape.
Razor is a very solid driver where he is played wih C6 Bennett, Xingqiu and Nahida or DMC.
Dori is a very good Driver at C6 where she can allow Nahida, Fischl and Furina to deal lots of damage due to her insane healing at C6

Surprised to not see Nilou here. Her power went through the roof with the release of Nahida, finally having a consistent off-field dendro applier. On top of that, her C2 can make her blooms crit, which turns her already strong blooms into H-Bombs.
Every Sumeru characters kit was designed with Nahida in mind to be their best support, well except for Wanderer and Dehya

Not only are the 1.0 4* characters meta, other old non meta characters continuously get buffed to maintain viability. Any f2p can clear any content just because of how viable the entire cast is, providing countless ways to play.

Calling Thoma (a housekeeper) the legendary maid instead of the actual maid, Noelle, is mildly infuriating. Also I feel like Noelle should be number 3 and not just an honorable mention: how Furina“buffed all team party healers” in addition to Furina buffing Noelle’s DMG, Noelle getting a dedicated Geo set, redhorn becoming her new BiS weapon, gorou buffing Geo DMG, and if you want, Xianyun buffing her plunge DMG. Noelle has gone from being called the worst character in the game to one of my strongest characters I own. Maybe a slight bias since I’ve been a Noelle main since day one and am past AR60, but we can’t deny she has had a buff after buff as a DPS, not just a team wide healer (Noelle and Furina are the perfect match, one slightly drains HP while the other heals it back up with each hit, and if you spin, that’s very fast healing, on top of her DMG being buffed)

She got so much man. Inazuma gave her Redhorn, Husk and Gorou. She later got Yelan as an off field dps/buffer. Fontaine brought GT to buff Fischl and her new quickswap/off field dps Navia and Chiori plus Furina as her best off field dps/buffer of course and the MH set which she can use now as well. With all that the performance of her parties has only been going up and up.

Don’t forget Ayaka C4+ for speedrunning through tanky bosses. This Hu Tao team still holds the record for the highest single-target damage output per rotation to date.
