I remember a Nickelodeon News You Can Use report that said that Ren & Stimpy wound up missing. There was one Sunday when Rugrats had two episodes (maybe not necessarily new), and Doug had two episodes the next Sunday (same there as in about their not necessarily being new). The announcement before the next episode of Doug to air on that Sunday said that another episode of Doug ran because Ren & Stimpy were still missing.
