  • Great Divide Trail Section E (Saskatchewan River Crossing to Jasper)- Day 5. We hiked from Boulder campground to Jonas Cutoff, all in Jasper National Park. The day overlapped with the famous Brazeau Loop Trail. The day included two easy, gorgeous passes: Jonas Pass (2320m) and Jonas Shoulder (2470m).
The campgrounds require reservation through the National Parks system. Jonas Shoulder was very busy, so book early!

    Gear used:
The Osprey Aether AG 70 held up well carrying 10 days of food (and I eat a lot!): www.osprey.com/ca/en/product/...
My new tent, the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2, was crazy light and survived some crazy mountain storms and snow: www.bigagnes.com/Copper-Spur-...
For filming, I used the GoPro Hero 7 and the Sony A6000:

I stumbled across your video while researching Jonas Pass as a long distance trail run for this summer. Really well done video, you totally sold me on this route! Thank you!

Thank again for the breath taking views, man i would not want to be up on those ridges during winter with the wind howling up my back.Is this park in Canada?

That looked like amazing water to fill your bottle with :) We have a well in our back yard now so it tastes a lot better than the chlorine water from the city lines we had before. Stunning scenery as always! We are very lucky to live in Canada, so many different things to see and discover. What month were you on the trail for these two weeks? Bugs looked like they were out in full force for your dinner! On Sunday/Monday, we suddenly got hit with winter and 20cm of snow. Now it's a winter wonderland blizzard out there again this morning! Stay safe out there you two.

I too am very grateful to live here in Canada, it was in August that we were out on this trip and yes the Skeeters were pretty bad! We've had a bit of snow here on Vancouver Island at sea level but the mountains are getting lots.
